CNN's SE Cupp, chronically miserable and stricken with TDS, on the #WHCD, says "Trump wants us dead, figuratively"... "[The WHCA] made it real easy for him to attend. And I, you know, glad to see everyone's in great spirits. And this is a party. I'm real bummed. Real bummed about tonight. because here's what's happening tonight. Journalism is throwing a party. Journalism is celebrating journalism at this party. Journalism, for some reason, invited Brendan Carr, FCC chair, who is threatening to revoke the licenses of broadcast networks. Pete Hegseth, who removed journalists from the Pentagon, and Donald Trump, who attacks us on the regular. Now, they're giving Donald Trump a speaking position to roast us to our faces for an hour. And he doesn't have to stay for the part where we celebrate journalism and give out awards to journalists and talk about the importance of free speech. And here's the kicker: we broadcast it on national TV. He could not have planned this scenario better. And guess what? He didn't. We did. Journalism planned this scenario for Donald Trump. So, if I'm Donald Trump, of course, I come under these conditions. And you just heard Brian Stelter say that the correspondents association was trying to sort of mend some fences with a guy who wants us dead, figuratively, figuratively. He wants journalism dead. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I don't think this is a great night for journalism. It's a night that's meant to be celebrating it, but I think it's a real bummer."

WATCH: Scott Jennings on President Trump's remarks about the #WHCD shooting... "I couldn't agree more with you, Van. And also anybody who attempts to rationalize it. You know, I think in the wake of some of these things, you get people who are saying, well, you know, you could see how someone might feel a certain -- no, no, there's no place for rationalization of it, encouragement of it, coddling of it. I couldn't agree with you more. That's well stated. I think on the President's press conference, extremely well handled, extremely responsible, perfect tone. And you know what I liked about what I'm seeing? You got the President there, and he's usually jousting with the media, very respectful of Weijia Jiang, very respectful of the press that was in the room. They were respectful of him because they had just gone through something together, together. And -- and all of them very complimentary of law enforcement. So, you think about all the different elements of our government and society that were in the room, political leaders, media, law enforcement, other important people. I mean, they all occupy different corners of our political affairs. And yet look how quickly they got information to the public. Look at the tone they were using with each other. Look at the -- the details that we now have. We're under control here, and -- and different layers of government, federal, local, the mayor, and that press. So, I don't know. It was a terrible thing that happened, and then I saw a whole bunch of people do exactly the right thing in the right way, with the right tone, and that ought to make us feel good as Americans and locals here.
