Wow, I always felt there was a reason my spirit held back from celebrating #CliveDavis's life on my platforms. First off, Clive Davis didn’t discover #WhitneyHouston; her incredible talent was a gift from God, and it was her mother, Ms. #CissyHouston, who helped nurture that gift. I came across 'The #Harvard Report,' officially known as A Study of the #SoulMusic Environment, and learned that the president of Columbia Records had commissioned #HarvardBusiness School to analyze black music back in 1972. What I didn’t realize was that the president of #ColumbiaRecords at that time was Clive Davis—how surprising! The goal of that study was to figure out how to tap into the #blackmusic market since major record labels like #Motown, Stax Records, and #Philadelphia International Records were raking in the profits, leaving white record companies in the dust.
