A truely unforgettable moment last year while documenting nocturnal surveys with Josh from the @Wildlifeqld yellow-bellied glider project. When I saw the pouch from this white morph greater glider wiggle my heart skipped a beat. #wildoz #greaterglider International League of Conservation Photographers

A #platypus gets so carried away with scratching that she rolls off her rock. She's itching mainly where her milk patches and her milk glands (which spread up round onto their backs) are, so I suspect she is lactating. #Tasmania #MammalWatching #platypuses #WildOz

Platypuses' bills can sense the electrical impulses running through the nerves of their prey - they move their bills like metal-detectors to hunt. They are one of the world's only electro-receptive #mammals. #fieldwork #Tasmania #platypus #WildOz #MammalWatching #platypuses

Platypuses wiggle their heads from side to side while foraging, like a high-speed metal-detector. But instead of metal, their bills detect the tiny electrical impulses given off by their prey's muscle signals (including their hearts). #platypus #Tasmania #WildOz #MammalWatching
