BREAKING: The Azerbaijan NSS has announced that they are charging Ruben Vardanyan on charges of "financial terrorism, participation in the formation of armed groups, and residing in the Republic of Azerbaijan without proper authorization." Today the representatives of diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in Armenia visited the humanitarian convoy in the Kornidzor sector, where humanitarian convoy of lorries loaded with aid is stuck at the entrance to the Lachin Corridor since yesterday. Till now Azerbaijan is refusing to unblock the Lachin Corridor and allow entry to Nagorno-Karabakh to stop the starvation and humanitarian crisis of 120 thousand people, including 30 thousand children.

Then in September 2023, backed by #Turkey, Azerbaijan launched a military assault — forcing 120,000 Armenian Christian to flee their ancestral homeland. This was ethnic cleansing. Yesterday, I sat with a young to woman whose sister was horrifically tortured and killed — with the video shared online by Azeri soldiers. I heard a similar story about a young man. Despite a verbal peace agreement, Azerbaijan keeps adding new conditions. And every night, they fire across the border at Armenian homes — even near international observers. The U.S. and international community must act — to stand with Armenia and make clear that it should not be forced to give up one more inch of land. We also need to help residents of Artsakh rebuild their lives and demand Azerbaijan release all the Artsakh prisoners. And we must ensure that Armenian Christians are never again subjected to persecution or victims of genocide or ethnic cleansing.

The Four-Day War was a large-scale offensive undertaken by the Republic of Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh from April 1-5, 2016. During the war, the Azerbaijani army committed numerous war crimes and atrocities, both against Armenian civilians and soldiers. The most intense battles took place in Hadrut and Martakert. Azerbaijani people have endured immense suffering, from genocidal invasion of our lands by Armenia and forced displacement of 1 million Azerbaijanis in early ‘90s, thru 30 years of brutal & barbaric occupation, to Armenia’s deadly strikes on civilians in 2020 and so on. Yet we are ready for peace and a new beginning with Armenia. We want ethnic Armenians to live peacefully and thrive in Garabagh, enjoying all their rights as equal citizens of #Azerbaijan. Peace is possible, coexistence is possible.
