According to a report in Lebanon, Lebanese security agencies confiscated four drones that arrived at the port of Tripoli in northern Lebanon inside a container from China a few weeks ago. The shipment, declared as "agricultural irrigation equipment," was registered in the name of a fictitious company. Each drone could potentially carry 14 kg of explosives. The Lebanese authorities are examining whether they meet the technical standards for import into Lebanon. It is worth recalling that one of Hezbollah's main lessons from the war is a significant strengthening of its UAV and drone array. Assuming that the "importer" of the drones is Hezbollah, will the "revolving door" phenomenon occur here as well, and will the "goods" reach their destination anyway? It should be remembered that the relevant security agencies (General Security and Lebanese Army Intelligence) and Lebanese customs are infiltrated by Hezbollah. Lebanon has seven major seaports, with the port of Beirut being the largest, followed by the port of Tripoli. In our assessment, the port of Beirut remains a central anchor for Hezbollah smuggling through the maritime corridor, due to Hezbollah's control over activities at the port of Beirut (a "comfortable work environment" in terms of location, officials from the right community, numerous assistants, and the like). However, realizing that the maritime corridor has become its main route for smuggling into Lebanon, Hezbollah has begun to diversify its use of other Lebanese seaports, such as the port of Tripoli, in order to establish its smuggling array. Hezbollah's maritime smuggling route can reach Lebanon in two ways: The first is direct arrival at one of the seaports. The second: the smuggling vessel will not arrive directly in Lebanon but will stop at an agreed point in Lebanon's economic or territorial waters. A Hezbollah vessel (under civilian cover), departing from Lebanon, will rendezvous with it at sea for the purpose of transferring the smuggled cargo using the "back-to-back" method. Alternatively, there is a possibility that the smuggled cargo will be lowered into the sea using buoys, and then a Hezbollah vessel will arrive to collect the cargo.

Hezbollah surrendering its arms to win back land is great. After all the goal is for Shia to live in their land in peace. The goal is not to keep the arms. The arms is a tool and if throwing it away achieve the goal, then be it. 5. Disarming Hezbollah doesn't have to be war, it requires Lebanese political consensus to ask Hezbollah to surrender its arms to the army. The people of Alma are peaceful Christians who have nothing to do with this war. Last night we heard through an intermediary between us and the IDF that their voice has been heard. However, we still cannot feel reassured until we hear something official from the IDF. The message from Alma is clear. The town will not evacuate under any circumstances. The only message the people want to hear is that their voice has been acknowledged. Leaving this matter to the authorities in Lebanon will lead nowhere. The crippled authorities lack the courage to raise their voice and ask Israel directly to spare this peaceful Christian town. Israel’s war is with Hezbollah, a terrorist organization. It was Hezbollah that last summer managed to turn Alma into a launch point for rockets against northern Israel, which is why the village is now seen as a threat. But this is not the truth. If the people had not been forced to leave last time, Hezbollah would never have been able to use the town as a missile platform. This is Hezbollah’s plan again. If the people leave now, Hezbollah will make sure to use the town, forcing Israel to destroy it and turning Christians against Israel. We have worked hard to build a peaceful Christian relationship with Israel. We will continue to protect and strengthen that path. But if Alma is attacked, it will set this effort back. Mr. Fletcher, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Tom Fletcher, continues to incite against Israel. Yesterday at the Security Council, he called on Israel and Iran to “stop fighting their wars in Lebanon.” Mr. Fletcher, this is an appalling and outrageous statement. Your call, which equates Israel with Iran, is like comparing the British Royal Air Force to the Nazi army in World War II. While Nazi planes attacked London every night, striking the civilian population, no one, rightly, thought to criticize the actions of the RAF. We are targeting Hezbollah, which operates from Lebanon and launches hundreds of rockets at Israeli communities. The same determination shown by the brave British pilots who did not falter against the brutal Nazi enemy exists today in Israeli pilots in their fight against Hezbollah attacks. What is most egregious here is that, although you are supposed to deal with humanitarian issues, you choose instead to engage in politics and propaganda against the State of Israel.

In June 1982, the IRGC deployed between 800 and 1,500 Revolutionary Guards to Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. Their mission was to recruit, train, and unify Lebanese Shia militants into a single organization under Iranian ideological guidance. The organization that emerged was Hezbollah. Its 1985 founding charter pledged allegiance to Iran’s velayat-e faqih doctrine and described the Iranian regime as the “vanguard” of a global Islamic state. This is not contested history. It is documented in a declassified 1984 CIA report, in Hezbollah deputy secretary-general Naim Qassem’s own memoir, and in the charter itself. In November 2024, after a ceasefire ended the previous round of fighting, Iran sent approximately 100 IRGC officers back to Lebanon to retrain Hezbollah fighters, reorganize them into small decentralized units, and oversee a full rearmament program funded at $50 million per month, most of it from Tehran. Reuters confirmed this through six sources briefed on Hezbollah’s finances. By March 2 2026, when Hezbollah launched its first rockets into Israel in solidarity with Iran after the killing of Khamenei, the group had been rebuilt from the inside out by its creator. Since March 2, at least 1,953 people have been killed in Lebanon. Over 1.2 million have been displaced. Nine bridges over the Litani River have been systematically destroyed, isolating the south from aid, food, and medical supply. On April 8, Operation Eternal Darkness hit over 100 targets across Beirut, the Beqaa, and southern Lebanon in ten minutes, killing at least 303 people in the deadliest single day of the war. Hospitals were overwhelmed. The Red Cross described the situation as “severe.” Lebanese authorities called it Black Wednesday. In June 1982, the IRGC deployed between 800 and 1,500 Revolutionary Guards to Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. Their mission was to recruit, train, and unify Lebanese Shia militants into a single organization under Iranian ideological guidance. The organization that emerged was Hezbollah. Its 1985 founding charter pledged allegiance to Iran’s velayat-e faqih doctrine and described the Iranian regime as the “vanguard” of a global Islamic state. This is not contested history. It is documented in a declassified 1984 CIA report, in Hezbollah deputy secretary-general Naim Qassem’s own memoir, and in the charter itself. In November 2024, after a ceasefire ended the previous round of fighting, Iran sent approximately 100 IRGC officers back to Lebanon to retrain Hezbollah fighters, reorganize them into small decentralized units, and oversee a full rearmament program funded at $50 million per month, most of it from Tehran. Reuters confirmed this through six sources briefed on Hezbollah’s finances. By March 2 2026, when Hezbollah launched its first rockets into Israel in solidarity with Iran after the killing of Khamenei, the group had been rebuilt from the inside out by its creator. Since March 2, at least 1,953 people have been killed in Lebanon. Over 1.2 million have been displaced. Nine bridges over the Litani River have been systematically destroyed, isolating the south from aid, food, and medical supply. On April 8, Operation Eternal Darkness hit over 100 targets across Beirut, the Beqaa, and southern Lebanon in ten minutes, killing at least 303 people in the deadliest single day of the war. We strongly recommend that Russian citizens refrain from traveling to the region, especially to Israel, Lebanon, Jordan and the Palestinian territories' ANALYSIS: My concern of Hezbollah joining the war, dragging Lebanon into the conflict, is rising by the day. If this happens, the risks for a much larger regional conflict with global implications goes up drastically. In yesterday's space, we had an Iraqi diplomat explain why he believes Iran will join the war through proxies if Israel enters Gaza, arguing that the U.S has been trying to convince Israel to change course. Unfortunately, that ship has sailed. The ball is in Iran/Hezbollah's court. Can they accept the end of Hamas, or will they join the war and support their ally?

Many people today believe that Hezbollah simply took over Lebanon under the authority of Iran. They say the group has kept the Christian population subdued and oppressed, while converting the country step by step into an Islamic state. But the reality is that it isn’t quite true. The story has more layers than that. The Christian Maronites aren’t innocent bystanders in all this. They made alliances that shaped the country’s path. They aligned themselves with the Assad regime of Syria, and it was Syria who really dictated how things ran in Lebanon for a long time. Hezbollah were aligned with Assad as well, and so was Iran. In 1998, this led to the appointment of former military chief Emile Lahoud. He was a Maronite Christian who was fully aligned with Assad. He sold out many Christian communities in Lebanon to retain power under the influence of the Assad regime with Hezbollah as his “muscle”. Lahoud supported Hezbollah and allowed them free rein in Lebanon. He gave them full control of southern Lebanon in exchange for them getting rid of his rivals and dissidents. He backed them completely. Many Christians supported Hezbollah in ending Israel’s occupation of the south, and even in their attacks on Israel alongside Hamas. It was a common position at the time among certain groups. Lahoud was also likely responsible for ordering the assassination of Rafik Hariri in 2005. Hariri was a vocal opponent to many of Lahoud’s policies and his close ties with Assad, Hezbollah and Tehran. His killing was a major turning point that highlighted the deep connections. This means the Christians weren’t simply hostages in their own country. They weren’t oppressed in the way many describe. They were complicit in the arrangements that allowed Hezbollah to grow stronger. In 2003, 60 Minutes even produced and aired a documentary on it all where the Lebanese President, Emile Lahoud, admitted it all openly. I’ve attached part of this 60 Minutes documentary below where you will see and hear how Lahoud gave Hezbollah Southern Lebanon, how Hezbollah trained divisions of suicide bombers to attack Israeli cities and support Hamas, indoctrinated thousands of children to fight for them similar to UNRWA and Hamas, and how Hezbollah viewed the US as Satan. Today, we see Christian leaders of Lebanon pretending otherwise. They act as if they have always been victims with no say in the matter. But in fact, they support Hezbollah or at least go along with the current setup. This explains why they refuse to disarm them or take real action against their influence. There is documented evidence to prove all of the above, from official records and political histories to investigations into these events. And looking at the bigger picture, all these parties, from the Christians, Hezbollah, Assad’s Syria, and the Iranian regime, all were supported politically and economically by one main global power: France. Their backing played a key role in how things developed over the decades. Understanding this true control of Lebanon helps cut through the simple stories we often hear. It shows how local groups, including Christian leaders, made choices that contributed to the situation. It’s not just about one external force imposing its will. The complicity goes deeper, and facing that history is important if Lebanon is ever to move forward properly.

Following Israel's attack on Dahiya this morning Iran faces a crossroads: For months, we’ve been discussing how Iran will influence Lebanon. It turns out the real question is how Lebanon affects Iran. Right now, we are at a dramatic crossroads. The reason is clear: following the phone call between Trump and Netanyahu—and the U.S. prohibition on Israel striking the Dahiya—both Iran and Hezbollah have grown increasingly emboldened. They view this as absolute proof that Trump has no desire to return to a war with Iran. As a result, they feel they have a free hand, believing that no threat they make, and no attack they launch, will drag Trump back into the conflict. This explains why Hezbollah feels free to barrage our northern communities with rockets, and why Iran feels comfortable issuing threats. It also contextualizes what we saw this afternoon: an Israeli strike on Beirut. This is a highly significant event on our front with Lebanon and Hezbollah, but it carries equal weight on the Iranian front with the U.S. I’m also hearing that Iran feels much less pressure to make concessions in those major negotiations precisely because of what they see unfolding in Lebanon. In that sense, Israel did the bare minimum today by striking what were likely empty command centers. However, it reinforced a clear equation: “If you don’t attack Kiryat Shmona, we won’t attack the Dahiya.” That equation remains very much in effect. Now, the ball is in Iran’s court. The situation in northern Israel is getting surprisingly little attention in the West. Here’s some background and an explanation of just how dire it is. World War Three gets closer by the day, and I’m not exaggerating. UNSC resolution 1701 (2006) is that Hezbollah agree to stay north of the river Litani in Lebanon. This puts Israeli settlements out of anti-tank rocket range. However, Hezbollah have broken this and since 7th October have fired thousands of rockets into Israel, displacing some 60,000 Israelis from their homes. To be clear, Hezbollah is a direct Iranian proxy, who live like a virus inside the almost-dead body of the Lebanese state. Their fighters are far superior to Hamas, having gained serious experience in the Syrian civil war. They have no real ground manoeuvre or air power, but their tunnels in the chalk rock of southern Lebanon are better than Hamas’ and they have an estimated 150,000 rockets. There are UN Peacekeepers in Lebanon, but (shockingly for the UN, I know) they’re as much use as a bacon sandwich at a Bar Mitzvah. One very senior Israeli source described them to me as “an umbrella that folds when it rains”. So Israel has a real, very serious problem. They do not have the manpower to assault into Lebanon for any kind of sustained campaign, especially whilst Gaza is ongoing. So, in polite terms, they are kicking the shit out of it from the air (over which they have total superiority) and relying on missile defences. Thousands of targets have been struck in the last 9 months but Hezbollah retain very significant missile capability. This is why Israel are beholden to the USA to offer obscenely generous ceasefire terms to Hamas (that Hamas appear to be declining). They cannot afford to lose American military aid with this threat on their northern border. In the videos below, in the first vid you see the war zone northern Israel has become. The second one is the settlement of Katzrin in the Golan Heights. Surrounded on all sides by fires. In a statement to Qatari-funded Muslim Brotherhood mouthpiece Al Jazeera, yesterday Hezbollah said, “We simultaneously attacked 15 bases in the Golan and the Galilee using 150 rockets and 30 drones. This is the most extensive attack carried out by the organization since October 8, this attack came in response to the assassination in Joya and in order to deter Israel from carrying out further assassinations of this type.” On top of that, Iranian proxies in Iraq took responsibility last night for the joint operation they carried out together with the Houthis (Iranian proxies in Yemen), which launched these ballistic missiles and UAVs towards the Israeli cities of Ashdod and Haifa (third video). Iran is besieging Israel on all sides, and Israel is bending, not breaking. This situation is genuinely dire. It explains why Hamas will not sign a ceasefire deal, and why other non-Iran aligned Gulf states are meeting with IDF commanders. The entire region is teetering on the edge of a much more widespread conflict with Iran, and Israel is taking the brunt of it. If this situation deteriorates, our allies in the Gulf may call for aid. As a second front in the war against the Iran-Russia-China-Qatar axis of malign global actors, this could not be more serious or worrying. And all the while we see subversive Iranian proxy organisations organising protests about Gaza on Western streets. Hopefully the West is not defeated domestically before the war even starts in earnest.
