Today I spoke with Emmanuel Castrejon, an Angeleno who depends on the bus to get to work every day. I saw firsthand some of what’s not working about our bus system. From the long wait times, to the inconsistent schedules, unreliable public transit is making LA less livable for all of us. It doesn’t have to be like this. I'm focused on building a system that people can actually count on, where buses show up more often, move faster, and get you where you need to go on time. Public transit should make our lives easier, not harder.

You don't have to create some elaborate experience every day. Eat dinner together. Take a walk. Read a book. Let them help you with something. Put the phone down and give them your attention. Ordinary moments can become some of the most meaningful memories of their childhood. Life gets busy, and nobody can give their children every minute of every day. But children should never have to wonder whether they matter to their parents. They grow up faster than we realize. One day, that little kid who wants you to play with them won't be little anymore. Are you giving your children enough of your time today to make sure they know just how much they mean to you?

Today’s Russian missile attack targeted Ukraine’s energy system and its various facilities, including the power grid and the gas transit system, particularly the gas infrastructure that ensures the security of deliveries to the EU. It is critical that such strikes do not become routine for the world. I am grateful to all the leaders who respond to them, including by condemning Russian terror and contacting partners who have the necessary air defense that could be used in Ukraine, as well as relevant missiles. To ensure that terrorists lose, leaders must show solidarity that works 24/7 to provide protection from terror. Just like our people, who eliminate the consequences of the strikes, and our warriors, who work tirelessly every day and night to achieve the best for Ukraine with the resources at their disposal. Every day our country should gain strength. Every day we must reinforce Ukrainian positions. We need to make Moscow realize that this war will not yield any results for them. And it’s only through strength that we can achieve this. All Ukrainians. All partners. With equal decisiveness.

The Green Electric Bus Command and Control Center Punjab has started operations. This center serves as the hub for monitoring and managing the entire bus system. From here, every bus is monitored to ensure timely arrivals and departures, improved routes, and reduced waiting times for passengers. Drivers are monitored through onboard cameras and advanced AI systems, and if a driver shows signs of drowsiness or inattention, they are immediately alerted. Special attention is being given to the women’s compartments to ensure they are protected from harassment and can travel safely and without fear. Travel is now cashless and paperless through T-Cash cards. This system helps continuously improve services using data. Steps are also being taken to protect the environment by shifting towards solar energy, while safe and comfortable travel, especially for women, children, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities remains a top priority.
