This would actually work well if he designed it like the DualSaw where it had another blade rotating in the opposite direction to offset the momentum/torque/kickback. Then you could attack using any edge of the shield in any direction because the contact point would always be where the two saw edges touched, sawing through the opponent.

Engineering problem, Make it lighter, curve the blades forward a little towards the target so it grips/rips what you intend to hit, put a small safety guard on your side so you don't lose a digit, fix the shield to your arm in a flexible metal so it doesn't slip as you thrust it.

Shields have never been made from steel. Only wood with some steel framing. Else its too heavy for effective utilization. Here, they make a steel shield with a motor&fuel to spin blades?
