My oldest never crawled, she rolled until 13 months old and then decided to walk. He's fine, try not to worry.

🙏🙏

All the milestone stuff seems very stressful at the time, but in the long run much of it is insignificant I have 3 kids, and my latest crawler and walker (who also did PT at 10 months) is today a gifted athlete

I think this is the perspective I’ll have too, eventually, thank you 🙏

No timeline on these things. That being said, seeing an example makes all the difference. Get him one of these and take him to the park. He will be chasing and running after the other kids in no time

We’ve got one! We have tried using it at the park 👀👀

Just leave him on the floor and move the toys away.

My son went straight to walking at 14 months. I was soooo concerned but once he walked it was over and he never looked back. Just kinda skipped a phase. Hes now a sophomore in college, mechanical engineer😀It was very scary at the time so I totally understand. 🙏

I don’t think it’s a big deal Dave, you’re still within about the normal range. My daughter was late to crawl because my mother-in-law wouldn’t stop picking her up. We had to take her to physical therapy at one point and honestly just getting her away and forcing her to try was enough.

The doc said he probably wouldn’t need much because he can’t see anything wrong haha

Yeah man, I think you’re good. With my son, if you put something just out of reach he was a man on a mission to get it and my daughter couldn’t care less, it was like oh well I’ll do something else… so they’re all different.

Don’t worry not unusual my grandson was the same went straight into walking

Thank you 🙏

Put the toys out of reach. He’s not motivated to go anywhere if it’s all right there within reach. It’s ok to let him get a little bit frustrated. That’s part of the learning process. It helps develop character and perseverance.

We'll be keeping him in our prayers. I was told I rolled around till 12 months, then just stood up and started walking. All kids develop differently. We even have twins & they've developed wildly different. He's got great parents he'll be okay.

Dude. Don’t get caught up in the milestone shit. Your baby is healthy, safe and happy that’s all that matters. I promise. If you wanna try something maybe put him on his tummy with toys right out of arms reach. They sense you and if you’re anxious over a trivial thing someone told you they did it’s not their kid. Relax. You’re doing fine.

Here’s my advice… If they are potty trained, and walking by the time they leave the house as an adult, that’s a win.

Advice would be not to worry about it yet

🙏🙏

Well , there’s a lot more to this but my middle son didn’t want to do any of it until he was over 1 . Graduated with double degrees and a foreign language minor and walked across the stage . Kids do things in their own time so long as parents let them. Be easy on yourself

Nothing to worry about. It’s probably just because everyone wants to hold that beautiful baby. Not a concern.

Actually I think this may be true 🤣

He’s adorable!!

My younger son didn’t crawl until around a year and didn’t walk until 17 mos. He’s always been on his own time line and is in college now and perfectly fine!

Does he scoot on his bottom? Id ask the ped at his 12 month check up. Occasionally kids go straight to walking without crawling.

He pivots/spins on his bottom, doesn’t scoot, yes his ped gave us the pt referral, but we’ll see him again in 6 weeks

Id make that appointment with the PT. Babies are so resilient, it won't be long and he'll be crawling!

Yeah we will, closed today but they should be open tomorrow

Also, usually kids who crawl and walk late are busy developing other things. I know 2 kids who crawled very late, and needed to see PT to do it. They are two of the smartest kids I know. Their brains were busy focusing on other stuff!

Are you using a Johnny jump up to strengthen his legs?

Yep! And the walker with wheels, he loves both, doc says his leg and core strength seem good, and he sat early, he just doesn’t seem to want to crawl 😅🤷♂️

He'll get there

🙏🙏

All kids are different Mine started walking at 8 months - enjoy the break Baby looks smart and I wouldn’t worry, I know this kids gonna do great things - just like his dad

More tummy time, put toys out of reach and don’t hang around all the time 🤷♀️

My boy didn’t crawl, at all! Rolled until about 13 months then one day he stood up and not only walked…he was running up and down the hallway! Don’t worry baby A will be on the move soon!

Hi Dave, my daughter absolutely hated crawling she crawled for a couple months starting at 11 months and really went straight to walking at 13 months. Get him off the walker and start just holding his hands. It's important that you encourage him to walk on his own. That could be you on one side of the room and your wife on the other. When walking with him try just holding his hand not his body up. This allows him to build more strength. Personally I don't think you should worry about this. From the videos you posted he looks fine. FYI my daughter is 16 months old (also first time parent) and constantly runs around the house. If you want to talk more about this feel free to DM me.

My daughter never crawled. She rolled! Would just take off rolling across the room to get where she wantsd to go. On her first birthday, she stood up, threw her hands up in the air and started running.

I never crawled as a baby. Refused to absolutely. When I was ready to walk I walked. My mom used to try to bribe me by holding out my favorite toys but alas - I was too dignified for that 😂. It was walking or nothing!!

We do this too with his toys out of reach haha

My 2 were scooting around at 9 months crawling a lot at 10 months and walking by their 1st birthday or a little after. Maybe he will skip crawling. Stand him up against the couch and with your hand supporting his back encourage him to take steps along the side of the couch. That was how we introduced walking without use of being in a walker.

This grandma says...every child is different, developmentally...more tummy time, a lot less walker ... he's discovered how be mobile in the walker and needs to make those connections while on the floor....he is a beautiful child! Just enjoy him while he's in this stage!

Totally normal. If you use the walker less he may want to get places faster and try on his own

1st baby syndrome? Everyone HOLDS him 💕

Movie his toys a couple of feet away from him. He'll make his way. Once he goes 2 feet, move them 3. There's no timeline at this age, he'll go when he's ready. Just try to entice him.

Don’t worry. My older son walked at 9 months. My younger crawled at around a year, a little, and then got up and started walking around at 14 months. The development timeline varies. Worry at 18 months.

I didn’t crawl I sat. ( I still sit)! Then I bumped along till I got up & walked at 2. When I was damn ready! Helped to have 2 people who really Loved me & wanted to carry me… ( My Grandmother & Great Grandmother). Tell me Why should the Queen walk?! Both my kids were relatively late walkers too.

Nooo, don’t stress about this. They recommend PT/OT for lots of things because it’s affordable, but it doesn’t mean there’s truly an issue. Fine motor skills look great in the videos I see, and he’s doing a good job walking with support. Some kids never crawl.

PT will be a good place for him and to get advice also. Don't stress too much, it's life. My son has special needs and he always enjoys PT.

He'll be ok.

Don’t worry. Stop picking him up all the time. Mine were running at 11 months because I walked and asked them to come along. D.

Lots of belly time and put toys just out of reach, maybe help scoot a little with a gentle push. My son started by all arm army crawl, then pushing his feet against my legs, then learned to push his feet against the floor.
