Here's a statement from Mitch Sylvestre "We will take pictures of you and then we will put you up on the internet and then we will find you. We will identify you. Then we will charge you. And anyone that tells you to do that, we will charge them as well. We will take every step that we can to protect our people. The situation here in northern Gaza is beyond any imagination. For hours now, the army has been dropping flares on us, turning the night into a terrifying daytime. The danger surrounds us from every side, especially after the evacuation leaflets that demanded two million people to flee to the south. Displacement is not an easy solution; it is a journey of suffering. After three days of searching and despair, I found a safe place in the south where we can set up our tent. But the problem is that the cost of this place is very high, 1400£ just to secure the spot. I have paid 400£ to secure the reservation, and I need to complete the remaining amount to ensure a safe place for my family. Furthermore, we need 1000£ to cover the costs of transportation to get there. We will not ask for a new tent; we will take our old one that holds our memories and will be our last refuge. I am writing to you with a heavy heart. We are pleading for your help. We need 2000£ to end this nightmare. Now more than ever, we must unite. We must unite against the ruiners of Nigeria before they bury what is left of her. Organization is the first primary weapon of the oppressed. This is the only weapon we are yet to explore, and we can not explore this until we unite. The oppressed Nigerians must organize to form a force against the ruiners of Nigeria and take back our country to have a system that is for the benefit of the Nigerian people and not a few in the position of power. President will come and go, only the people will remain. Don't give those in power today to play politics with your future. Let's unite, not necessary as one but as a team. When this proposal was first discussed, our intention was never to divide football or compromise the values of the game. However, after hearing the feedback and seeing the reaction across the football community, it became clear that we underestimated the concerns surrounding these plans. We underestimated how many people would view this as a step in the wrong direction, and for that, I take responsibility. To everyone who felt disappointed, betrayed or that FIFA had broken their trust, I sincerely apologize. That was never our intention. The World Cup means far more than any business proposal, and when something creates this level of division within football, it is our duty to stop, listen and rethink our position. We have done exactly that. After careful reflection, we concluded that this was not the right path for the game. No financial opportunity is worth risking the unity of the football family. Football belongs to its supporters, its players and its communities, and their voices have been heard. Today, we move forward together. Today in Kyiv, a Summit is taking place that has brought together 24 countries, primarily from Europe. All of our European neighbors are represented: Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, and Belarus. We all support the aspiration of the Belarusian people to free themselves from Russian interference, and we know that Russia is now trying to drag Belarus even deeper into this war against Ukraine. We value every expression of support from Belarusians for a free Ukraine, and we know that the day will come when there will once again be good-neighborly relations between our states – based on the real independence of both Ukraine and Belarus from Moscow. This is exactly what we discussed today with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and her team, who are visiting Kyiv. Ukraine has never been a threat to Belarus. And we are grateful to those Belarusians who stand with Ukraine – now, when the fate of both our independence and the independence of every nation that borders Russia is being decided.
