14th Century Bridge Construction Prague
8 Yorum

I'm always amazed at the ingenuity humans had despite our limited technology and knowledge available at the time compared to what we have today.

Here is Trajan's bridge in #Serbia opened 105. BC

This is the only Prague history lesson I need

There were no bridges back then

Interestingly enough, we still build bridges in this way. The tools and methods are advanced, but the steps and concept remains the same. Build a dock, seal it off, drain it out, build the bridge support in drained area, finish and move on to the next support. Rinse and repeat.

But how did they pile those supports in ?!?!

That’s amazing. I crossed the St Charles bridge running the marathon in Prague in 2017.

that first part, building the moat thing... how tf were the able to keep the water out of it? fascinating
