The Giga Texas Test Track and offices were quiet at the time of my flight today, but we do see many Cybercabs getting ready for more testing while the track itself is getting a pretty rough “Cobblestone” section being added for more NVH testing along with active noise cancelling calibration. We also see more Cybercabs with the “Cybercab” logos lined up in front of the main factory along with many more in the outbound lot today.

29 May 2026 Giga Texas Snapshots! AS I get ready to head off to Europe for a few weeks to attend the Tesla Club Austria Takeover Europe event, Here is an extended snapshots video clip showing a site absolutely brimming with activity. Today is also a rare production day to make up for the holiday on Monday. Cybercabs all over the place today, exiting the factory, driving in the outbound lot for transport pickup, many with their hatches open prepping for final inspections and more! The refreshed Tesla Semi with extended cab removed at the Crash Testing facility today too! Construction in 4 major sites is really moving along today too, including more steel erection at the N Optimus factory site, and the extension ground reclamation work continues to progress. The E Advanced Tech Chip fab shows more earth preparation and Cortex 2 part 2 of the cooling system getting 4 of these 6 fan units installed while more Megapacks have arrived and are being installed. The SW Test Track is also getting work done on it, with some new excavation work and pipe installation along with new concrete curbs. So mush more to see today and I hope you enjoy this slightly loner snapshots look at the factory today. See you in a few weeks!

Progress at all 4 major construction sites today, including the E Advanced Chip Fab site with more relocation of workshops, materials and vehicles, soil sample drill rigs at work & more. The N Optimus factory foundation continues to make progress too, especially with the site drying up. GeoPiers, Rebar cages, pedestal footings & three levels of grade evident today. Cortex 2 prep for more Megapacks today, with transformer installation nearing completion & part 2 of the cooling system coming together. The new test track is getting more asphalt laid down in several different locations & some infield grade work too. There are vehicles on some of the paved driving surfaces to give a better sense of scale and width of the road surfaces! Cybertruck production still seems fairly slow, but I’m hoping to see this pick up. For the 1st time I’ve observed, over 70 Cybercabs were in the outbound lot today in three main groups & some driving around. Lots more to see today & I hope you enjoy this snapshots video clip!

The Tesla Optimus factory at Giga Texas continues to make fast progress with assembly & more than double the number of cranes are now working on the site! We also see steel truss beams arriving, hinting some open areas without 4 floors of the structure may soon emerge in its construction. On the an end, assembly is rapidly approaching the perimeter beam, while on the S end more GeoPiers, footings & perimeter grade beam construction continues. Roof access structures are beginning to be assemble too, while rebar is being laid down on the floor decking ahead of concrete pours.

Cybercabs are multiplying at Giga Texas today, with some driving on the EOL test track, & a great opportunity to see a matte wrapped & production glossy gold versions side by side … great way to see the difference up close! About 40-50 Cybercabs all over the site today, including some testing out the factory exit to the W EOL facility routes, many of the prototypes at the Crash Testing facility today (possibly for recycling) and more! This short video clips show the test driving & comparison between the older and production versions!

The North Campus at Giga Texas (aka Optimus 10M/yr factory) work on the main foundation continues, with gravel & crushed concrete being laid down in a massive excavation on the south end, while GeoPier, footing construction & rebar cage assembly work makes progress on the middle to the north end of the site. The foundation work shows at least two types of footing construction underway, one of which appears as isolated footings (or pad footings) with a column starter cage which is a standard reinforced concrete foundation element used under individual columns in buildings. I’m not sure why there are serial kinds of footings being used here, but it is similar to what was used for the south extension to the main factory, along with a few other areas in the main building.

17 June 2026 Giga Texas Snapshots! I’m back after a few weeks away in Europe & visiting Giga Berlin (a fantastic factory too!) so today I decided to try and get a good overall look at the activity & changes here since I was away, and there is really a lot to cover … almost too much! Cybercab production continues with many of these vehicles lined up at the factory exit point & more int the outbound lot. I saw a Model Y production going strong too, with several in the new shades of blue recently announced too! The 4680 battery cell portion of the factory was getting concrete delivered inside where I’ve observed demolition & expansion work underway to increase production capacity & this is backed up with several new permits filed over the past few days! The Test track has had more work on it including paint marks, dedicated lanes w/ dividers & a Cybercab testing office & vehicles that have been recently observed driving on the track for some kind of testing. The E side where the new joint venture with SpaceX Advanced Chip fab is being constructed was getting GeoPier work, while more preparations were underway to relocate active workshops & recycling yards further to the N to clear space for additional construction. Cortex 2 part 2 chiller system fan tower seems nearly completed structurally, while more pipes, vale’s & wrapped items remain to be installed. The N Optimus factory shows significant work with steel erection (up to 4 floors), GeoPier work on the N end, grade work on the S end, land reclamation on the extreme S & footing construction in the middle. A large “oval” like outer track with what looks like a smaller oval track is definitely taking shape, and of course there will be support structures and more added as this project continues to make progress. The Giga Texas test track was busy today with a mix of human driven and autonomous Cybercabs driving around, sometimes in packs, doing all sorts of tests including stops, passing, acceleration & following the leader. The operations center rounded tents with lifts had two Cybercabs in them doing some kin of inspections. Around the factory, I noted multiple Cybercabs picking up, dropping off and proceeding to new pickups of employees. What is notable is the number of Cybercabs doing this was definitely more than I’ve seen in a long time.

At Giga Texas, the new joint SpaceX & Tesla Advanced Technology Chip Fabrication facility foundation shape & size is beginning to emerge, with a defined rectangular excavation area that has had some GeoPiers and now gravel mix being applied while it continues to grow longer on the S end. Based on the original rendering, I expect the full foundation will have the iconic beveled corners just like the main factory, but these have not yet emerged. Rebar cages for footings are already being assembled & some structural steel is on site. More work remains to reconfigure the E WOW yard, recycle center & pipe fabrication workshops along with finishing the massive water retention pond on the S end.

This is similar to the main factory construction and I suspect we will see varying levels throughout the structure as it continues to build out. This means that with the extension work to the south to reclaim even more land to further lengthen the structure, it will have a meaningful % of the 11 Million Sq Ft of the main factory, so this is truly becoming a massive factory! A large steel staging yard in nearby in the “lone tree” field & several large cranes are at work actively adding more steel as they build out from the center, again, very similar to how the main factory was constructed. Check it out!

This is the routing all Cybercabs take before final processing & then shipping off site. I saw more than 150 Cybercabs today driving or parked all over the Giga Texas site, including more drop ff testing near the factory, three large groups in the outbound lot, testing on the test track & coming off the highway frontage roads. 4 Months of Optimus Factory Progress Timelapse! It is time to do another month of weekly progress on the Optimus Factory at Giga Texas. This begins on 23 March 2026 & goes to 27 July 2026 for approximately 4 months of progress. The superstructure is growing quickly now, the north perimeter grade beam is taking shape, footings on the south side of the structure & more land reclamation work on the far south end. Sometimes seeing timelapse of the progress reveals just how quickly things are progressing & not really noticed during daily updates.

About a dozen were on or driving near the track, conducting lane selection, rumble strip and other tests. We heard yesterday from Wes Maldonado that Cybercabs do have audio capabilities to cancel out NVH so this might be part of the testing we are seeing, along with autonomous driving capabilities. Check out this new video clip of some of the action on this sunny day at the track!

More Sentez | Geopier work creating piers in the ground to support the future structure, defined earthwork in the middle section and more grade work on the N & S sides of the construction site!
