1 Day left until the Tesla Cybercab Launch Event here in Austin and the Giga Texas test track was busy with more Cybercab night testing with beautiful views of downtown Austin peeking over the horizon supervising the final preparations! I have hear night testing has been on-going for quite some time, particularly in the last week. I hope you enjoy this short video clip of the action on this last day before Cybercab makes its grand debut!

They say Terafab is going to be built … they are wrong. It is already being built, right now! My first drone flight over the location of what will be the most advanced chip fabrication plant & largest building in the world … and surprise, just like the Giga Texas announcement, construction is already underway! Thank you to Tesla for approving my flight over this facility. Lots yet to come I am sure! Main video coming a bit later!

It’s a good morning for a 360 degree flyover of the Giga Texas Optimus Factory! This higher-altitude flyby helps to show the extent of the construction & the progress that is being made in a rapid time period. If you recall, the foundation was just dirt in early March of this year when major excavation work was just about to begin!

Cybercabs doing heavy testing on the Giga Texas track today, with ~30 Cybercabs doing constant stop-and-go testing along with more lane changes around the large oval. Crews were working on the last segment of the “cobblestone” portion of the inner track for further tests. I also saw a “Cybercab” logo’d variant next to the iconic “Fork in the Road” display on the S end of the factory, while more employee autonomous Cybercab rides were happening all over the site today. In a separate post, I’ll share some images of many newly produced Cybercabs at the E Factory exit and in the outbound lot today! 1 week until the big Cybercab Launch Event!

Cybercab action today at the Giga Texas Test Track Operations Center… more Cybercabs on the track and in staging than I’ve ever seen! Check out the conga line of Cybercabs on the track! Superchargers are also being installed, hinting we will be seeing this level of activity for some time to come! Also, we see a long line of these with their hatches open … wonder what they are doing with these?

Cybercab test track testing underway again today, this time using stop lights as well as stop signs. Great look at the action in this video clip along with some maintenance of one Cybercab at the testing operations centers. I also noted more Cybercabs, a lot of Model Y’s and YL’s and new Cybertrucks at the outbound lot and End-of-Line on the west side of the highway today. Check it out and have a great weekend!

Cybercab testing at the track continues in earnest today with more stoplights, different configurations of lanes and more as the big Cybercab Launch Event comes up just 3 days from today here at Giga Texas! We also see additional prep work at the test ops center and at the End-of-Line facility. I also noted Cybertruck driving near the Cybertunnel and on the figure 8 test track as well as many hundreds of Cybertruck F & R castings being delivered inside the factory for more production.

Cybercab production over the past week or so has been noticeably very low, but today, we are seeing more starting to line up on the W side of the EOL at Giga Texas, but this time, many with the “Cybercab” logos on the doors and the hatches. Not sure if this indicates anything of note, but is worth keeping an eye on! I know there is a lot of interesting details in how and when these will begin to be part of the Tesla Robotaxi fleet & service, but I think we still have some time to go until that happens, but I hope its soon-ish!

It may be a shock for some to hear that SpaceX is moving forward with their plans to wind down Falcon 9, with the last planned Starlink launch from the east coast today, & other recent changes that point to their strong pivot to Starship. Last week I was on with Ellie in Space 🚀💫 (Ellie in Space) & we talked specifically about this, why the decision is being made, the ramifications of this decision & importantly, why this should not be a surprise to hear as it’s been the plan all along. Check out this clip of our discussion. Bottom line, it is the beginning of an end of an uncommonly successful era, but it is also the start of something so much more exciting & impactful!

Want to know what is going on with the joint venture SpaceX & Tesla Advanced Technology Chip Fabrication Facility (ATCF) construction at Giga Texas? This facility is unlike any constructed here with a level of precision & vibration elimination far beyond the needs of ordinary structures. In reality, this facility could be the most important construction project on the sprawling 2.500+ acre site. Here is a short video clip but you will learn a lot more with my companion article located at this link.

Wow is the Giga Texas outbound lot full today and its every vehicle product in production at the factory! 100’s of Model Y’s & crucially, a lot of Model YLs too … backing up the mid-September start of delivery many reservation holders a re hearing! Lots of Cybertruck in the lot and driving out from the factory to the W EOL for processing. This is great to see and also backs up stories of many people taking deliveries. What is a bit odd is that those with reservations from the $59K event and previously told to expect delivery in 2027 are taking delivery now. Not sure, but it seems that the reservation # doesn’t necessarily mean it is in sequential order. And not to be outdone, many more Cybercabs int eh outbound toot today too, some with “Cybercab” logos. I did not see any of these with the Starlink modifications, so not sure what to make of this, but great to see production happening ahead of the big Cybercab Launch Event coming up soon!

Breaking Giga Texas News! starting today, new vehicles (Model Ys & Cybertruck are moving fully autonomously from the factory to the west outbound lot and without human supervisors! I saw this happening constantly, with Model Ys exiting and immediately driving away on their own from the factory. This is a huge accomplishment for Tesla as now Giga Texas joins Fremont as FSD improves overall efficiency!

Want to know what it sounded like during the launch of Flight 12 of Starship today? Check out this video and the shaking of the windows. This was during my livestream with Ellie in Space 🚀💫 (Ellie in Space) at a ouse about 5 miles from the launch site. Definitely have the volume up! Truly a powerful rocket ... the most powerful ever!

The Optimus factory on the N end of the Giga Texas site continues fast progress with steel assembly, footing and GeoPier work on the S end, truss beam arrivals and perimeter storm water pipe installation. A new TDLR document suggests the finished size will be about 7 million Sq Ft (~450,000 Sq m). Check out this updated video clip & images from today!

I was at the San Antonio Tesla sales and service center earlier today and there were several “Farzad’s” in the back lot. I got some closer views of the test steering wheel and pedal kit that was installed in all of them. Also, a short video clip of the top of the rear hatch where Starlinks are reportedly installed underneath per some requests by viewers. There is a permit for a large charging station construction site closer to downtown, but I don’t think a lot has been done there yet.

Wondering what the new Optimus Factory at Giga Texas looks like & where this is located/how big it is compared to the rest of the site? Here’s a short video clip showing a high altitude view along with lower more detailed views too. The final length of the building is beginning to emerge, with the S perimeter beam and what appears to be the beveled corners being graded out. The main steel structure is now 16 column grids long, which is about 720 feet or ~ 219 meters long so far and growing!

Happy 8 April (Wednesday) at Giga Texas, especially for those wanting an update on Cybercabs … I saw about 60 of them in two groups in the outbound lot today … the largest grouping yet! Also, looks like at least some of these have white seats and most still have clearly visible steering wheels … I will let you conclude what you wish from that, but these still do not look like the final “production” versions, so perhaps they are testing out some of the new features while testing some of the Tesla Robotaxi areas around the country.

It’s Cybercab Bonanza day at Giga Texas! Fresh off the posting yesterday showing Cybercabs autonomously driving out of the production like exit point and taking the ~2 mile trip to the W EOL and Tesla being granted a Level 4 Autonomous @Roxotabw service license in Texas, today we see a lot of Cybercabs on the move, with the hatch open showing the wheel covers prepped for shipping, ~ a dozen lined up at the factory exit point and much more! Check out this Cybercab action today!
