A cool look at an EA-1E Skyraider side by side from March 1966 off the deck of the USS Intrepid (CVS-11) while she was working as the primary recovery ship for the NASA's Gemini 3 mission in the Atlantic. There were 28 variants of Spads built. Kinda been on a hunt to find them all. This version had a lengthened and widened fuselage to accommodate side by side seating for pilot and co-pilot as well as a crew / equipment compartment aft of the pilots. The engine was moved 8 inches forward and the vertical tail area was increased almost 50%. It also had additional antennas and specialized electronic gear for its ECM role. 212 built.💫

We will be traveling in Waters that pirates frequent so to keep everybody on board safe we ask that you follow a couple of rules. To make this ship less visible to threats .. The external promenade deck is closed overnight (from 9 PM to 5AM) Also please turn off your stateroom lights, close drapes and lock balcony doors to make this ship as dark as possible.. These actions make it harder for pirates to see and board the ship .. Your safety is our priority.. Other than that, please relax, and enjoy your vacation👍🏼😐

🚨Riddle me this… The funniest part of this entire debate is that some people are demanding I celebrate half my DNA while apologizing for the other half. Think about how insane that is. I think we will want to have at least two consecutive successes of a given design that lands at a specific point in the ocean, or smash into a specific point in the ocean, before we try to bring it back to the launch site. We do not want to rain debris over Mexico or the US. My guess is probably next year [in 2025] is when we will be able to reuse Starship. But I think it's highly likely that this year we will bring the ship side of it to a controlled point in the ocean and have it basically land on a virtual tower somewhere in the Pacific or the Indian Ocean. We just need to be confident that we can get through the high-heating portion of reentry reliably, and then we will bring the ship back, and it will land on the tower as well.” SpaceX Update, April 4, 2024
