China is the second largest market in the world, so of course businesses want access to it. The problem is they don’t play by the same rules. For years, companies have dealt with intellectual property theft, uneven legal systems, and an environment where American businesses don’t get the same protections or leverage Chinese companies receive. That’s the real dilemma, how do you do business with a market that many now see not as a partner, but as a strategic competitor? In 2018, they invited Tesla to build a wholly-owned factory in Shanghai. No joint venture required. Chinese officials called it the "catfish effect" - Tesla would force domestic companies to compete or die. The impact was brutal. When Tesla's Model 3 launched in 2020, it quickly became China's best-selling EV. BYD's total vehicle sales actually fell 7.7% that year to just 427,000 units. By competing with the world's best, BYD was forced to address what they were missing: Chinese EVs had great battery tech and software, but the cars weren't appealing. So BYD learned design. Sales exploded. Today BYD sells over 4 million vehicles annually - 10x their 2020 numbers, and more than Tesla globally. America should do the same thing. In the long run, the only way to win high-tech manufacturing is to actually compete against the very best in the world. We should encourage BYD and other leading Chinese companies to build factories in America in exchange for the access to the U.S market. This would allow us to build up process knowledge and the the relevant supply chains domestically, and force American companies to catch up. The alternative is to fall further and further behind. JD Vance on Greenland: Greenland matters to American national security because our entire missile defense relies on security in the Arctic. If a foreign country launched a missile at the United States of America, we would need control over the Arctic in order to shoot that missile down. Our entire missile defense system depends on that Arctic security. The Chinese and the Russians and even the Danes who control Greenland want to control that facility and that land mass. That would make us weaker. That would make our country more endangered. It would mean that if the President were negotiating with a foreign leader, he would have less leverage because they could realistically threaten the sovereignty and territorial safety of the United States of America. We’re not going to let that happen.

It’s significantly bigger than the 49,000 Chinese-made EVs that will be allowed into the country. He is going to allow China to invest in factories in Ontario. And it’s going to be done through a partnership. I believe that partnership will be through Hyundai. It makes the most strategic sense: Hyundai will then license technology from BYD instead of BYD taking the risk of opening a factory in Canada that could be shut down with a change in government. This will then provide the same opportunity for China to access the full North American market and bypass the US tariffs. That’s the strategy behind it. And the US will see right through it: They will not allow any of those vehicles in their country.

Last June, CCP operatives attempted to smuggle a pathogen into America that could have potentially wiped out 80% of US agricultural land. Not to mention the CCP biolabs they've found through America housing Ebola, Covid and other deadly pathogens. Only a fool would think these same labs aren't throughout rural Canada all along the border. The next time they try, they'll be coming through Canada's wide open Western border.
