25 mins on Lovable — built a LP dashboard for a VC fund — this experience took me back in time to 5 years ago: A much worse prototype on Glide & Google Sheets took me ~48 hours — it was a massively painful experience to build.

This time around - the UI came together magically — Lovable’s internal intelligence was able to contextualize what a LP <> VC fund relationship is — lot of what you see on the screen was NOT explicitly prompted by me. Note: This was a test — free version, 10 prompts & didn’t work on Auth & Backend (data upload etc). Didn’t use any live company data. Phenomenal uplift in productivity — for all purposes, I am a non-technical person who built this in 25 minutes. AI is (un)real sometimes. Prompt & test URL added below:

The future is here - you just need to build it. Even as a VC fund & as VC investors, all of us on the investment team have built AI tooling to augment productivity. Experienced this with Bolt recently too. I think internal tooling to a large extent is now in the hands of every high agency operator in any org, engineer or not.

as a SWE, the first question that pops up in my head is: do you think the prototype-to-production journey is smooth enough for a semi-technical person like yourself? would you still need human help with deploying this? I'm very curious what that experience would be like!

I tried building an ai powered typefully alternative. It can be built of course but not in one prompt. I found v0 better at understanding what I wanted. And it did more in one prompt than lovable did in over ten prompts. Prompt was chatgpt generated btw.
