Who would have thought that I would end up going to the most beautiful Indian temple in Paris on the last Monday of Sawan. This last Minute plan overwhelmed me cuz I had a feeling that I was always meant to come here. Wow ! The divine and the universe work in unexpected ways 🕉️🙏 My short trip to Paris has turned out to be extremely sweet after this visit. If you are in Paris do check out the Kanapathy Temple folks. How does it feel to sell 50,000 tickets in your hometown? ABSOLUTELY FUCKING UNREAL 🥹❤️🥹 The LA Convention Center was our dream venue.. for us everything about it was perfect. No sound restrictions, pumping AC, more than enough room even at sell out, and all GA so everyone is getting the same exact experience. For us that’s what dance music is about. Roaming around with your friends.. going to the front.. going to chill and take a breather in the back.. having the freedom to do whatever you want in the present moment. Right now we are so extremely grateful and appreciative of the support from those who were there… our family.. our friends.. our incredible working crew.. and most of all THE MUTHA FUCKING SLANDER FAM! This entire weekend felt like a dream.. imposter syndrome was at 1000000000%.. Some of the biggest names in dance music have graced this venue.. but we are the ONLY ones to EVER do 2 nights.. just writing this sentence feels ridiculous.. WHAT THE FUCKKKKKK We have nothing but true love for our city for being there for us for the past 13 years of our career.. this felt like the culmination of everything we have ever done.. a new pinnacle.. 🚨 CHICAGO PARENTS, GUARDIANS & COMMUNITY WE NEED TO TALK. 🚨 I’m going to say this because I am ANGRY, concerned, and tired of seeing this happen to our children. We are hearing about groups of young people going to other high schools and surrounding areas, jumping students, intimidating them and ROBBING them. And let me make something VERY clear this is not just something being talked about on social media. I have received inboxes from BOTH adults AND young people making us aware of what is happening. I have also seen videos that are extremely concerning. I am not going to expose the people who reached out to me. They trusted us enough to speak up, and we will respect their privacy. But we CANNOT ignore what we’re being told. And quite honestly, we are not seeing enough action being taken by the schools to stop this. So if the schools aren’t going to do enough to protect our children, THE COMMUNITY IS GOING TO STEP UP. 👊🏾 MEN OF OUR COMMUNITIES WE NEED YOU! If you are a responsible, community minded man who is available after school and willing to help, we are asking you to come out and help us patrol the areas around our schools. We WILL be out there. Not looking for fights. Not looking for confrontation. Not taking the law into our own hands. We will be there as a VISIBLE COMMUNITY PRESENCE watching out for our children, helping deter these groups from targeting students, and contacting school officials or law enforcement when necessary. Our kids need to see that the adults in their community are watching. They need to know that when they walk out of school, someone is looking out for them. This isn’t about one school, one neighborhood, or one group of kids. THIS IS ABOUT ALL OF OUR CHILDREN. If you’re a father, grandfather, uncle, mentor, coach, community leader, or simply a man who cares about our children and has the time to help WE NEED YOU TO STEP UP. And to the women and other community members who want to help WE NEED YOU TOO. ❤️ Let’s organize this the RIGHT way and create a safe, responsible presence around our schools and communities. 💪🏾 Our children deserve to feel SAFE walking into and out of school. 🚨 CHICAGO PARENTS, GUARDIANS & COMMUNITY WE NEED TO TALK. 🚨 I’m going to say this because I am ANGRY, concerned, and tired of seeing this happen to our children. We are hearing about groups of young people going to other high schools and surrounding areas, jumping students, intimidating them and ROBBING them. And let me make something VERY clear this is not just something being talked about on social media. I have received inboxes from BOTH adults AND young people making us aware of what is happening. I have also seen videos that are extremely concerning. I am not going to expose the people who reached out to me. They trusted us enough to speak up, and we will respect their privacy. But we CANNOT ignore what we’re being told. And quite honestly, we are not seeing enough action being taken by the schools to stop this. So if the schools aren’t going to do enough to protect our children, THE COMMUNITY IS GOING TO STEP UP. 👊🏾 MEN OF OUR COMMUNITIES WE NEED YOU! If you are a responsible, community minded man who is available after school and willing to help, we are asking you to come out and help us patrol the areas around our schools. We WILL be out there. Not looking for fights. Not looking for confrontation. Not taking the law into our own hands. We will be there as a VISIBLE COMMUNITY PRESENCE watching out for our children, helping deter these groups from targeting students, and contacting school officials or law enforcement when necessary. Our kids need to see that the adults in their community are watching. They need to know that when they walk out of school, someone is looking out for them. This isn’t about one school, one neighborhood, or one group of kids. THIS IS ABOUT ALL OF OUR CHILDREN. If you’re a father, grandfather, uncle, mentor, coach, community leader, or simply a man who cares about our children and has the time to help WE NEED YOU TO STEP UP. And to the women and other community members who want to help WE NEED YOU TOO. ❤️ Let’s organize this the RIGHT way and create a safe, responsible presence around our schools and communities. 💪🏾 Our children deserve to feel SAFE walking into and out of school. After getting brain damage 2 weeks ago and being told he had to be put to sleep it’s been a steep learning curve for little Stormzy. He keeps falling but he refuses to stay down. It’s become obvious that his recovery will take some time. He needs patience, love and medical care. So we spoke with his owner and he agreed. He is a lovely man who had Stormzy’s 2 other siblings and lives in a very busy area. He was delighted when we said we could give Stormzy a better life. We are also helping him with sterilizing the dogs in his area. He is a very good man. Especially to know what is best for Stormzy. I’m sure our inbox will be full of requests about Stormzy but the truth is that’s a long way off. He needs a lot of patience and care which he will get with us. David is finally back in school after almost five years away from the classroom. This is a favoured boy, and I am so glad we did not give up on him. Since 2021, life kept moving, other children kept learning, and David was instead made to work on farms in the Upper East Region. Together with two other beneficiaries, Jesuslina and Jeffrey, David has been enrolled in boarding school and given the opportunity to begin again through our For The Future Ghana STEP Initiative. We have made sure to put the right support in place to help him reintegrate, catch up academically, and receive the holistic support he needs to slowly get back on track. I cannot explain what it feels like to look at a child you first met years ago, knowing everything life has taken from him, and then see him sitting in a classroom again. This is why I am so grateful we did not give up on David. David is back in school. ❤️ And that sentence means more to me than I can explain. We are grateful to everyone who has supported him in getting back to school. 🙏🏽
