Working on spin axis & rotation with small soccer balls. Great visual to assess your rotation as well as a good feel drill. The size of the ball really enhances the visual especially when you increase the distance.

Drill Work 🚨⬇️! Phone Booth Drill Agility drill working IZ footwork and reads forcing your eyes up to react. Make the necessary cuts in the phone booth (traffic) with no wasted movements. Finish with a move on the pop up and finishing with good pad level thru the chute.

A great drill to ensure your lineman are not getting too tight that they lose the mobility in their hips/ groin to get to the positions needed to play with great leverage. They should be able to snap their foot to the outside of their hands & get their whole foot in the ground.

On the second break finish inside out of the ball carrier and wrap up violently while running your feet through contact. Instead use your eyes to guide your hands into your opponent’s chest… …THEN peek in your gap to locate the ball. Here’s a drill from Tony Davis - UCA to practice this skill.

WRs hear coaches say “Stay QB friendly” at the top of routes. This is what we mean. Don’t leak/drift up field. This ruins your separation and allows the DB to get back to you in time for breakup or INT. Great drill to enforce this point.

I posted this young man doing this drill yesterday. Several negative comments were made. 🙂 It’s amazing how so many people have no idea what they’re looking at…..yet are willing to comment. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ So I’m adding a video of Aaron doing the same drill his first time. He couldn’t square up one ball. My setup is 13’ from the machine. It’s set to throw 30-35mph. Minimum reaction time is 125mph This drill is EXTREMELY HARD TO DO ……until you get control of your forward move.

IDK who needs to hear this, but use your rifle's safety. Enough nonsense about leaving it off. It's easy to do and adds no time to anything. -------- This is a box drill, 4 cones about 5-7 meters apart, in a square. The focus is to shoot while entering and exiting positions. You shoot when next to each cone. If you are just getting started, you may have to stop completely to shoot. The idea is to never really stop moving, though and only slow enough to confidently get your hits. The more stable you are able to get while moving, the sooner and faster you can make your shots. Target distance can vary based on how difficult you want it to be, anywhere from 7-20 yards from the forward cones.

NC State Linebacker Drill!🚨🚨🚨 This drill teaches the linebackers to not cross over when coming down at an angle. You have no power when your legs are crossed over. You should only cross over when the ball carrier is out of your range. Keeping a good base and staying squared is very important especially when you are taking on a big offensive lineman. It also teaches them to not double tap their feet when they are changing direction. Dig your outside foot on the ground and get out! Notice that they are all staying low and keeping their shoulders squared even when they are coming down at a 45 degree angle. NC State Football

THOUGHTS ON 3 BALL STEALS 1) As a base runner treat the 3 ball steal as a hit & run. You CANNOT get picked. 2) If it’s not a ball or if it is not hit, good chance you will be thrown out. 3) Roll your head to pick up contact to avoid being deked by the middle infielders(Somewhere between 1st & 3rd step) 4) Careful not to come off the base on your slide. Even on ball 4 if you over slide you are out. 5) Give the hitter steal verses giving him hit & run. On 3 ball hit & runs, hitters occasionally lose the count & swing at ball four. 6) This is basically a run & hit w/o a + jump at 1B. Our hope is the hitter gets a good pitch to hit & is able to drive the ball in the gap or walk if it is a ball.
