Genetically, I should be bald. I started to lose my hair and go gray in my late 20s. Now, at 47, I’ve got a full head of hair and ~70% of my gray is gone. Here how I did it.. 🧵

Contrary to popular belief, you can maintain your hair well into your 40s and beyond. In 12 months, I went from a Norwood 3 to a Norwood 2. Norwood is a hair loss scale, as indicated in the image. Here’s how I achieved these results:

1. Start early: Don’t wait for visible loss. Many lose up to 50% of their hair before they even realize it. The best time to work on your hair is before you start losing it.

2. Nutrition: Make sure you're getting adequate: + Protein: including collagen peptides and sufficient methionine, cyteine, and lysine in addition to taurine, to support collagen, keratin, and elastin synthesis. Ref (3) + Omega-3 fatty acids: for antioxidant effects and improving scalp circulation. Ref (4) + Key vitamins & minerals: including iron, selenium, and biotin. Ref (3) The Blueprint stack has all of these. ↓

4. Red light therapy: Six minutes a day and you can be doing your morning routine as you wear it. A study on 44 males (age 18-49) showed that treatment with 655nm laser cap for 25 min every other day for a duration of 16 weeks resulted in a 39% increase in hair growth compared to placebo. Ref (6) An affordable Blueprint red light cap coming soon.

5. Oral minoxidil: I take 3.75 mg a day. I started with 2.5 mg and evaluated for side effects. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled randomized clinical trial involving 90 men with androgenetic alopecia AGA, oral minoxidil (5 mg daily) was found to have similar efficacy to topical minoxidil (5% solution applied twice daily) after 24 weeks.Ref (7) Oral minoxidil is generally considered safe at low doses, but it can have side effects such as hypertrichosis (excessive hair growth) and headaches.

When starting any new hair regimen: + Start slow + Introduce 1 product at a time + Monitor closely for side effects + Give each addition 3 months to show results + 5% minoxidil alone is sufficient for many + Consider personalization based on your genetic profile, health, diet type and nutritional condition to reverse any deficiencies (e.g. omega3, protein...) revealed by blood testing.

A final note that I’m in touch with several companies that are building novel hair regrowth therapies. They are promising and exciting. They’re still years out but it’s cool to think that hair loss may no longer be a thing we have to think about. Just one reason why the future is going to be amazing. #dontdie

Vitamin D mistake A Statistical Error in the Estimation of the Recommended Dietary Allowance for Vitamin D (2014) US, nearly 15 times too low UK, 0ver 22 times too low IOM calculation 600 units (15 mcg), 97.5% of people will achieve 63 nmol/L (25.2 ng/ml) Correct calculation 600 units (15 mcg), 97.5% of people will achieve 26.8 nmol/L (10.7 ng/ml) Requirements based on correct calculation 8,895 IU of vitamin D per day may be needed to accomplish that 97.5% of individuals achieve serum 25(OH)D values of 50 nmol/L or more. The "Average" vs. "Individual" Mistake Canada studies Diet gives 232 IU of vitamin D per day Institute of Medicine (IOM), RDA vitamin D 600 IU per day, (aged 1 to 70 years) Now called the National Academy of Medicine UK is even worse 400 iu or 10 mcg 600 iu per day to achieve serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) levels of 50 nmol/L or more in 97.5% of healthy individuals. Levels of 50 nmol/L or more have been shown to benefit bone health and to prevent disease and injury. The IOM based their RDA for vitamin D on an aggregation of 10 supplementation studies, (32 dose protocols) carried out during winter months, at locations above 50th parallel IOM regressed the 32 study averages, dose: plasma ratio On the basis of this, IOM estimated that 600 IU of vitamin D would achieve an average 25(OH)D level of 63 nmol/L Requirements based on correct calculation 8,895 IU of vitamin D per day This dose is well in excess of the current RDA of 600 IU per day and the tolerable upper intake of 4000 IU per day. The public health and clinical implications of the miscalculated RDA for vitamin D are serious. With the current recommendation of 600 IU, bone health objectives and disease and injury prevention targets will not be met. We recommend that the RDA for vitamin D be reconsidered to allow for appropriate public health and clinical decision-making. The Big Vitamin D Mistake Explanation of the statistical error The "Average" vs. "Individual" Mistake The Institute of Medicine’s goal was to find a vitamin D dose that ensures 97.5% of individual people reach a healthy blood level (50 nmol/L). The statistical error occurred because the IOM analysed the averages of different studies rather than the data of individual participants. They looked at 10 studies and took the average blood levels achieved in those studies. They calculated a statistical range (Confidence Interval) based on those averages. They found that with 600 IU, 97.5% of the study averages would hit the target. The Problem There is much less variation between "averages" than there is between "individuals." By using the averages, the IOM accidentally "smoothed out" the data. They assumed that if the average person in a study was fine, then almost everyone was fine. The Classroom Analogy Imagine you want to ensure every student passes a test. The IOM method They looked at the average scores of 30 different classrooms. They set a curriculum so that 97.5% of classrooms would have a passing average. The Reality Even in a classroom with a passing average, there are students who fail. The Correction To ensure 97.5% of students pass, you have to look at the lowest-performing students, not the class average. The Consequence When the authors of this paper re-calculated the numbers using the variation of individuals (rather than study averages), they found that the current RDA of 600 IU does not cover 97.5% of the population. Instead, it only ensures that 97.5% of people reach a blood level of 26.8 nmol/L (far below the target of 50 nmol/L). To actually get 97.5% of the population to the healthy target of 50 nmol/L, the math suggests you would need a dose of 8,895 IU per day.

Your body is begging you for these nutrients - here are 5 signs it's giving you: #1 Eye twitches - Magnesium Magnesium is a calming electrolyte in the nerves. Without enough, the nerves and muscles can be in a perpetual excited state, causing twitches. Twitches, cramps and spasms = mineral deficiencies. Magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium are all vital for maintaining proper conductance in motor neurons / muscles. A lack of these electrolytes can result in excess excitation of the nerves and uncontrolled movements. Magnesium is abundant in spring water, seafood and more. #2 High blood pressure - Potassium Over 97% of Americans don't get enough potassium. Another calming electrolyte, especially for the blood vessels - it blocks the excitatory influx of calcium ions that causes vasoconstriction. Potassium completely reverses high blood pressure. 2.5g a day in this study dropped it by 42/17, returning values to normal. ➜ Directly relaxes blood vessels ➜ Reduces excitability in nervous system ➜ Improves insulin sensitivity contributing to this effect. Some foods PACKED with potassium: ➞ Potatoes (any kind) ➞ Orange juice ➞ Coconut water ➞ Cream of tartar ➞ Lean red meat ➞ Salmon ➞ Milk ➞ White button mushrooms #3 White spots on nails - Zinc Your nails are made primarily from a protein called keratin, and the cells that produce keratin rely heavily on zinc to proliferate. Improper keratin formation, air pockets or structural defects within the nail plate appear as white spots. Dry or flaky skin, hair loss, and brittle nails are all warning signs your body needs more zinc. Cells that multiply and differentiate rapidly need lots of zinc: ◇ Immune cells ◇ Skin cells (fibroblasts) ◇ Hair / nail producing cells (keratinocytes) ◇ Cells lining the gut #4 Bruising easily - Vitamin K2 Bruises are caused by the rupturing of capillaries - small blood vessels that give your tissues nutrients. Vitamin K2 helps the blood coagulate appropriately to heal the vessels and prevent excessive bleeding. Vitamin K2 (topical) rapidly heals bruises. More vitamin K2 = more clotting capacity = faster blood vessel healing = less internal bleeding from vessel damage. Very common symptom that can be treated easily. #5 Dark circles under eyes - Vitamin C The skin underneath the eyes is very thin - more susceptible to collagen loss. The dark color is caused by hemoglobin (from the blood) that gets oxidized, which accumulates in this area with blood vessel congestion and damage. Vitamin C reduces dark circles under the eyes. 10% mix applied for 6 months achieved this by: ➝ Stimulating collagen synthesis ➝ Inhibiting excessive skin pigmentation / coloring ➝ Preventing oxidative stress (causes colorization) Orally it acts on the same pathways.

Testosterone is far more than just a muscle-building hormone. It’s a cornerstone of health influencing mood, cognition, bone density, libido, and even longevity. In this episode, Derek (More Plates More Dates), host of the popular YouTube channel ‘More Plates More Dates' and co-founder of Marek Health, joins me to unpack testosterone’s true role in health, from bone density and insulin sensitivity to brain function and longevity. We cover how lifestyle factors, diet, and micronutrients like vitamin D, zinc, and magnesium shape testosterone levels, and which testosterone-boosting supplements actually work versus those that are just hype. We dive deep into testosterone replacement therapy—when it’s warranted, what benefits to expect, the risks (like polycythemia and fertility suppression), and how delivery methods such as injections, creams, and orals formulations differ. We also explore testosterone therapy for women, cardiovascular disease and prostate cancer risk, and how DHT drives hair loss, plus the safety and efficacy of treatments like finasteride, minoxidil, microneedling, and ketoconazole shampoo. If you want to understand testosterone beyond the headlines, including its functions, its tradeoffs, and the practical ways to optimize it, this conversation is a must-listen. Links in the next post. Is this really the 4th best spread or dip in the world? Guacamole was recently ranked as the 4th best sauce in the world, in my book, it’s a very close battle with hummus for that number one spot. Let me know which you would pick! I like to make my guac a mix of creamy but chunky, and also left out tomatos, which are typically in guac, so feel free to include them, and also make any substitutions you like to make your own version. This is usually the way I do it for an easy appetizer that i know people will like, especially in the summer. Another preference is temperature! I like my guacamole on the colder side, so make it with avocados straight out of the fridge and serve right away for best results. Ingredients: ✅3 large avocados ✅1 large handful fresh cilantro (about 1/3 cup finely chopped) ✅1/2 large red onion, finely diced (finely diced is key!) ✅1 jalapeno, finely diced (remove seeds if you dont want it spicy) ✅ 2 garlic cloves, minced (use fresh but jarred works, too) ✅1 lime ✅1/2 tsp cumin ✅2-3generous pinches salt Here is how I made it: 1.I prefer cold avocados so store them in the fridge for at least 2 hours prior to starting. 2.Grab a board or a bowl - i did this right on the board. Finely chop 1 large handful fresh cilantro which yields about 1/3 cup. the cilantro, add 1/2 finely diced large red onion 1 finely diced jalapeño (remove the seeds if you dont like it spicy!), and 2 freshly minced garlic cloves. 4.Grab your 3 large avocados, remove the skin and pit and add to the rest. 5.Squeeze the juice of 1 small lime. If you want more lime-y you can add more lime after you taste it later. 6.Add 1/2 tsp cumin, a couple generous pinches of salt, then mash using a fork or utensil. I like my guac on the chunkier side so mash lightly, but mash longer or shorter depending on your preference. 7.Enjoy immediately, with your favorite vessel If you make it, be sure to let me know on SHREDHAPPENS! . . . . . . #lowcarb #lowcarbrecipes #healthyrecipes #keto #healthyfoodshare

🚨 What is the ruling on sexual harassment of children in Islam? Here is a video by a senior Muslim scholar, who explains: I recently wrote an article discussing the punishment for sexual abuse of children in Islam, especially given the unfortunate spread of this phenomenon [1]. Islam views very harshly the offender who exploits the weakness of the victim, whether it is a child, a woman, or a person with special needs; the abuser takes advantage of the victim’s inability to defend themselves or lack of awareness to commit the crime [1]. Children, in particular, do not understand what is happening, and they often look at adults—whether young or of their parents’ age—with trust, which is unfortunately exploited [1]. This abuse is sometimes carried out under the guise of “kindness” or “affection” to lure the child. Islam prescribes a specific punishment for such acts: a deterrent discretionary punishment (ta‘zir) that can reach execution by ta‘zir, in addition to the legal punishment for zina (adultery/fornication) [2]. Why execution? Because this crime is classified as a form of “Hirabah” [3]. Hirabah essentially involves acts that terrorize society and spread corruption. Sexual abuse of children is considered terrorizing society as a whole [3], [4]. This is based on the Quranic verse on Hirabah, which prescribes severe punishments for those who spread corruption on earth [4]. In fact, the Egyptian Dar al-Ifta has endorsed this legal and Shariah classification, considering rape (as well as drug trafficking) as Hirabah crimes warranting the death penalty due to the terror they cause to the public [4]. Regarding “consent,” this argument does not apply here; a child is inherently unaware. Even in cases of prostitution, where some might claim consent, Shariah enforces punishment to prevent societal corruption [5]. The role of the state is to implement deterrent punishments that prevent people from committing such crimes [2], [5]. Finally, it is important to understand that Islamic punishments and limits are applied without favoritism. As the Prophet ﷺ said: “Even if Fatimah, daughter of Muhammad, stole, her hand would be cut off” [6]. Once the case reaches the court and becomes known in society, the deterrent punishment must be applied without leniency [5], [6]. For more Shariah evidence and detailed discussion, you can refer to my published article on this topic [6].

97% Of The Population Is Deficient In The Nutrient That Will Prevent Heart Disease & Clear Existing Plaque. The Nutrient K2, Found In Animal Sourced Foods, Is So Essential For Health That It Not Only Prevents Atherosclerosis...It Will Actually Clear Calcified Arterial Plaque. Yet, 97% Of The Population Is Deficient Because Of The Lie That A Fat Free Plant Based Diet Is Healthy. Atherosclerosis, the hardening & calcification of the arteries, plagues the global population. Arterial plaque is not a normal byproduct of aging, it is Vitamin K2 deficiency. Put simply, Vitamin K2 activates proteins that support healthy calcium balance – directing calcium to the bones where it is needed, while inhibiting calcium from depositing in arteries & soft tissues where it can do harm. Yet recent research shows us that 97% of the global population is deficient in Vitamin K2 for bone & cardiovascular health. Clinical evidence demonstrates that adding animal sourced Vitamin K2, which is in the MK-4 form, to the diet absolutely leads to positive health outcomes, in adults as well as children. And now the medical community is driving the latest Vitamin K2 research — because Vitamin K2 is the only compound to date clinically shown to prevent & treat hardening of the arteries. A diet based on animal sourced foods, rich in vitamin K2 in the MK-4 form, prevents arterial stiffness, stops & reverses progression of vascular & valvular calcification, lowers the incidence of diabetes & coronary artery disease, & decreases cardiovascular mortality. A groundbreaking study showed those who consumed the highest amounts of animal sourced foods, rich in Vitamin K2, had 52% lower risk of heart attack mortality & a 57% lower risk of death from all causes compared to those deficient in Vitamin K2. Their sources of K2 were eggs, meats & dairy which are the most bioavailable form as MK-4. Vitamin K1, the form found in plants, showed no benefit to prevent or clear arterial plaque, provide cardiovascular protection nor any prevention to the onset of diabetes & insulin resistance. This effect comes from animal sourced Vitamin K2 alone, not K1 from plant foods. Studies show that a person’s risk of dying from heart disease falls by 9% for every additional 10 micrograms of K2 consumed a day, but found no association or benefit with plant sourced Vitamin K1 intake. Additional Benefits From Animal Sourced K2: Strong Bones & Teeth: K2 directs & deposits calcium into our skeletal system & away from blood circulation. Anti-Cancer: K2 has the ability to stop cancer cell growth, reverse cancer cell growth & prevent reoccurrence of cancer. Heart Health: K2 keeps blood vessels smooth & flexible ensuring healthy circulation, preventing harmful blood clots & heart disease. Optimal Daily Intake Of Vitamin K2 Is At Least 300 mcg. Animal Foods Rich In Vitamin K2 Per 100 gr Serving: Goose Liver 369 mcg Beef Liver 263 mcg Pork 75 mcg Dark Chicken 60 mcg Bacon 35 mcg Egg 75 mcg Butter 21 mcg Aged Cheese 50 mcg Ground Beef 10 mcg Beef Tallow 14 mcg Required Cofactors Needed With Vitamin K2: *⃣ Vitamin D3 *⃣ Magnesium Glycinate or Threonate *⃣ Zinc Picolinate 👇High K2 Intake Prevents Coronary Plaque👇 👇K2 Reduces Risk Of Coronary Heart Disease👇 👇Worldwide Prevalence Of K2 Deficiency👇 Speaker: Craig McCloskey

Only one side argued consistently from Scripture. Excellent work Ruslan GodLogic_GL. Two points I’d like to comment on, being that Joel’s “church” is confessional 1689: Joel & friends said there is no restriction for polygamy in the NT, appealing to natural law as the standard. The 1689 and Scripture disagree: LBCF Chapter 25: Of Marriage, Section 1 Marriage is to be between one man and one woman; neither is it lawful for any man to have more than one wife, nor for any woman to have more than one husband at the same time.[1] [1] Gen 2:24, Mal 2:15, Matt 19:5-6 Joel also completely straw manned at the end, and he doubled down when pressed saying “it was not a strawman” that “it is permissible for a 5 year old boy who has made a credible profession and has been baptized to marry.” Is Joel a pedophile? Scripture and the Reformed faith disagree. It is not lawful, as a 5 year old *boy* is not able with judgement to give consent. They kept appealing to general revelation, except special revelation governs general revelation. LBCF Chapter 25: Of Marriage, Section 3 It is lawful for all sorts of people to marry, who are able with judgment to give their consent;[1] yet it is the duty of Christians to marry in the Lord;[2] and therefore such as profess the true religion, should not marry with infidels, or idolaters; neither should such as are godly, be unequally yoked, by marrying with such as are wicked in their life, or maintain damnable heresy.[3] [1] Heb 13:4, 1 Tim 4:3 [2] 1 Cor 7:39 [3] Neh. 13:25-27
