Let’s be respectful of the fact that we don’t know everything. That’s the receiver’s fault.’ How do you know?” “You weren’t in that meeting room. The game is chess. Terry McLaurin showed up to Ohio State Football camp as a 4 ⭐️ high school wide receiver who would go on the be Mr. Football in the state of Indiana, but that meant nothing to Urban Meyer. Even after killing his workout Meyer told him he wasn’t OSU material. Even suggesting that he go back home and catch 200 footballs a day. OLB Keion White spoke highly of assistant coach Mike Smith after Tuesday’s practice. This video shows some of their work together, with White saying: “I have a really good coach helping me. Coach Smith was telling me steps, alignment, things like that I haven’t traditionally heard. So just that next step of having that coach behind me is really big for me. “… It’s helpful because it slows it down a little bit and trains me. He’s doing a good job of saying, ‘This is what you need to think of, this is your thought process.’ That’s something I don’t think I had before and what I was missing; I was training myself, I’m not going to lie. This coach crashes out at a 14U baseball game. The coach comes down from third base and screams at the home plate umpire. It’s quiet as can be so he has everyone’s attention. He tells the umpire that he has been great all tournament but this particular call was abysmal and he knows it. 🤯 The fans clap after he finishes. 😳 The man behind the fence behind home plate (tournament director?) yells at the coach that he just said it, he’s been great all tournament but you are going to lose it over one questionable call? What I don’t get is the fans clapping. They are just encouraging this horrible behavior. Sad that we have parents that support that. If you told me as a coach before the tournament that this umpire would be great the whole tournament but will miss one call, I’d say that’s my guy, that’s my umpire. But to just completely lose it in front of all those boys? Shameful. Another coach who thinks he coaching the the World Series in MLB. And we wonder why there is an umpire shortage? Do you prefer and approve of a coach like that? (Some people do) or do you prefer a quieter coach who keeps his emotions in check?

My Grandpa, Tom Caflisch coached as a Special Teams Coach for 21 years Falcon Football. Many years ago, he told me about this new coach coming to town, @CoachWalkerRF was the new head coach, he said “He’s the guy that’s gonna turn around River Falls Football.” He echoed it year after year when I’d visit because he saw what was happening daily. When I got into college coaching as a GA at MSU, he set up a meeting with Coach Walker, “You have to meet this guy.” We sat down for Lunch on a weekday at Bo’s and Mine and talked ball for an hour and a half about the Crush front and Pop passes, along with other things. After, Grandpa C goes I have no idea what you guys were talking about but that was awesome. 🤣😂 Fast Forward to my grandpa getting sick. Not only did Coach visit him, he sent Freddy the Falcon (The Mascot) to see him. When he passed Coach and his staff came to his funeral, and remembered him with a moment of silence pre-game. So you wanna know why UW-RF is where they are? It’s because of the people and it starts at the top.

Today was one of the hardest days in my Franklin County high school basketball career. Since I was in 6th grade, I could not wait to play for the lady flyers. It felt so good to see coach Thacker support us at our middle school games. My first year playing was my 7th grade year. Since then, Joey Thacker has coached, trained, motivated, encouraged, and pushed me to be what he knows I could be. He held me accountable while also congratulating me on jobs well done. I watched him sacrifice day after day to be in the gym with us. He stayed strong while his family was handling health concerns. No matter what, he has always been there for us. For me, he has been one of the best coaches I have ever had. I have so much I could say, I’m just having a hard time getting my thoughts out. I love you coach Thacker. Thank you for being a coach that realty cared about his players and not about the wins and losses. Thank you for your sacrifices. Thank you for building a program that set the standard in the 11th region. After 22 years, 1 2A state championship, 2 sweet 16 state runner ups, 5 elite 8 finishes, 7 11th region championships, 94 straight 41st district wins with 12 straight district titles, and countless tournament championships, my coach will be retiring. It hurts to not be able to finish up my high school career with him as my coach, but I am so happy for him and his family. I am happy to say I played for Coach Thacker since my 7th grade year and would not trade any minute of it. I would have love to have just 1 more year with you. 💔As always, I will continue to text you even if you are not my coach anymore lol. Sorry I didn’t get you the KHSAA state championship😞.
