Here's how we made a 1-minute sequence of "The long road back". An animation short-film we've done at Magnific Studios. The process was roughly: - We started with reference images of the boy (Nilo), dog (Pip), the witch and witch house. Krea 2 image model, Nana Banana Pro were heavily used in reference image generation. - The video model was Seedance 2 generations. 15 seconds and with prompts asking for different shots. We basically prompted for 'scenes' - not shots. Trying to generate stand-alone shots and then editing together gives too many problems with continuity. - For every additional 15 second video (we needed at least 4), we would provide the last 5 seconds of the previous video as reference to Seedance 2 + the original reference images. Then in the prompt, ask for continuing the video + prompting for the next part of the story. This proved very productive. - We fixed inconsistencies in many shots by surgically extract the few problematic sections. Then edit 1 frame using Nano Banana. And then regenerating the sequences using this new reference image and Seedance 2. Two examples. The doorknob changed place and the door behind the dog was closed even after the witch stepped out. - All music was generated using Elevenlabs music generator. 3 seperate pieces of music. - All editing and color grading was done in Davinci Resolve. I've been experimenting with Seedance 2.0 to create seamless extensions. I created this sequence called UBUMBE FOREST. Seamless extensions can actually be quite tricky to do and requires some precise magic with editing to connect them. There is no shortcut here, you must experiment until you find the sweet spot to make the transition seamless. Ubumbe Forest - During a routine foraging trip deep in the Ubumbe forest in Tanzania, a father guides his daughter off the beaten path. Here, hidden from the rest of their tribe, she steps into a breathtaking new world and comes face-to-face with insects and creatures she has never seen before, even encountering a rare Peafox. 🟢Extending a scene however is fairly simple: - Generate your first sequence. - Upload that video as an Omni reference. - Type this at the start of the prompt "Naturally continue the movement and momentum from the previous clip. Keep the exact same art style, lighting, character appearance, and physics." and then explain what happens next in this sequence. - Congrats, you now have a scene extension that naturally flows from where the last video ended. However this is only the start of the puzzle, you need to join these clips so they're seamless. Seedance 2.0 is able to match the pacing, remember the characters and even their voices using this technique. This might be the best synthetic performance I have got from a video model. We can generate 30-second shots and create near seamless extensions (with a bit of post blending) for far longer sequences, powered by Seedance Enterprise 2.5. I set out to test this out by making the scene below all-in-one shot. I wrote the script, built the character references in Seedream and then broke the script down to two 30 second prompts. The prompts were really detailed with pauses, gestures and emotional shifts and the model delivered on all of them. I was really impressed with the performance and voices which were generated in the model. Previously, AI film scenes had to be composed of short cuts, now we have options on pacing, and nuance... we can let our scenes breathe. All this done with only around 3 rolls per take, we have left the slot machine age of AI video Gen behind and are now in the age of control. Next for me will be testing real actors performance as a reference to drive the generation. Seedance 2.5 API is about to launch on BytePlus , and Lumina will also roll out Seedance 2.5 soon.
