The era that hit me hardest has to be the AI era. 🤖 We’re watching creativity, technology, and commerce evolve faster than ever. What makes it fascinating is that we’re not just witnessing history anymore, we’re actively creating the next chapter. 🚀 Curious to hear yours too. Which era shaped you the most?

这条时间线最容易造成的误判,是把商业演变理解成线性替代。Web3和AI还不是“历史终点”,最终能否成为时代,只看一件事:是否持续降低交易与决策成本,而非制造更贵的中间层。

Peter Thiel on how to build the next billion-dollar startup: "Every moment in the history of business happens only once. The next Mark Zuckerberg won't be starting a social networking site. The next Bill Gates won't start an operating system. The next Elon Musk won't start a Tesla electric car company." Peter's entire thesis rejects the idea of formulas in business. As he puts it: "Science starts with things that are experimentally repeatable, but great businesses are zero to one; they're always one-of-a-kind. There is always this anti-formulaic quality." So what's the one theme he keeps coming back to? "This need for differentiation. What are you doing that nobody else is doing? What ideas do you have that nobody else has? What great business are you working on that no one else is working on?" He continues: "If you're a founder or an entrepreneur, you should always aim to build a monopoly where you're the only person in the world doing what you're doing. There really are only two kinds of businesses in this world: businesses that are in crazy competition and one-of-a-kind businesses that are monopolies." On why you shouldn't just iterate your way to success: "The core thing is to have a great product, and then you can always improve and iterate on that. If you're just trying to optimize and you don't have a great product, that rarely works." His advice? Think 5 to 10 years ahead: "Why will this be a really valuable business in 5 to 10 years? How's the competitive landscape going to develop? These are hard questions to answer, but the great entrepreneurs I know always have some perspective on it. When I was playing chess, one of the early lessons I learned was, a bad plan is still always better than no plan at all." On what makes work meaningful: "It's great to be working on problems where if you weren't working on them, nobody else would do them. If we weren't doing this, this problem would absolutely not be tackled. That's what's meaningful. Whereas when you're competing, you're already, by definition, number two at least in a category." Build something only you can build.

been playing with whop's new blueprints feature and a part of it changes the whole math on starting a business.. a blueprint is a full business ready to run. not a template you fill in. the actual site, the checkout, tracking, the whop pixel, analytics, all of it live from the first second. you pick a bluepint, name it and deploy, that's it. you're on a .whop.app url taking real payments with nothing left to wire up. i deployed one in the time it takes to read this and these aren't thin little landing pages. multi-page sites, customer accounts, carts, booking, subscriptions, reviews, checkout. full commercial sites out of the box, hosted on Whop for free. the analytics sit in the same dashboard. traffic, conversions, revenue, MRR, churn, ad spend, all in one place, you deploy and you can already see everything. but here's the part that actually that got me invested into it. instead of just building and deploying blueprints, it has other features in-built which can make the whole process easier and every business that gets onboarded through a blueprint you built earns you 10% of whop's gross profit from that business. recurring, per business, for as long as they run. so building a blueprint is its own business. you build one for a niche, put it out there, and every business that runs on it keeps paying you while you do nothing. i spent years thinking distribution was the hard part. build a good blueprint and the distribution is the business.

Jensen Huang just replaced the most important metric in global economics. Not trade volume. Not oil output. Not manufacturing. Compute. Huang: “Compute equals GDP. I know that for certain.” He did not say probably. He said certain. If your nation does not produce compute, it does not produce intelligence. If it does not produce intelligence, it does not produce revenue. Two links in the chain. Miss one and the whole thing breaks. Huang: “Not one country in the future will say, ‘Guess what, we’re gonna opt out on intelligence.’” Because opting out of compute is not a strategic decision. It is an extinction schedule. Every country that does not build its own inference capacity becomes a tenant in someone else’s infrastructure. Not an ally. Not a partner. A dependent. And dependents do not negotiate terms. They accept them. But this is not just a story about nations. Huang: “The entire software industry will be token-driven.” Every product. Every platform. Every service you touch. The entire business model of software is about to be measured in tokens consumed. Not seats sold. Not licenses renewed. Tokens burned. Software used to be a thing you bought. Now it is a thing that thinks. And thinking costs compute. Every query. Every action. Every decision the machine makes on your behalf. The meter is always running. Huang: “The entire internet industry could take 100% of their CapEx and make it AI because it’s better.” Not ten percent. Not a pilot program. One hundred percent. The moment any internet service rebuilds itself on generative intelligence, it outperforms every version that came before it. Search. Ads. Recommendation. Infrastructure. All of it. Better on contact. CapEx follows. All of it. Trillions moving in one direction with no offramp. The companies still budgeting AI as a line item are telling you exactly how much they understand. AI is not the line item. AI is the budget. The global economy is being re-denominated in a currency most people have not even heard of yet. Tokens. Whoever controls the supply of that currency is not playing in the new economy. They are the house. And the house does not lose.

Elon Musk just put a number on the flaw at the center of Nvidia’s empire. Wall Street has not done the math yet. Nvidia’s Blackwell is the most sought-after silicon on Earth. Every AI lab wants it. Every sovereign nation is bidding for it. Blackwell runs every model, for every company, in every data center on the planet. That universality built the empire. It is also the fracture point. Musk: “We believe the AI5 chip will be about a third of the power of an Nvidia Blackwell for roughly comparable performance. And much less than 10% of the cost.” One-third the power. Comparable performance. Less than ten percent of the cost. Musk: “This is a chip that is very much optimized for the Tesla AI software stack. It’s not meant to be a general purpose chip.” Nvidia builds silicon that serves a million different customers. Every transistor spent on universal compatibility is a transistor not dedicated to one task. Tesla is building silicon for exactly one customer. Itself. When you strip away every function you will never call, you do not get a lesser chip. You get a weapon. Here is what the market refuses to see. Data centers drink unlimited power from the grid. Robots run on batteries. Musk: “In order to have a functional robot, you have to have a great AI chip. And it needs to be an inexpensive chip and it needs to be very power efficient.” You cannot put a Blackwell inside a walking machine. It would drain the battery before it crossed the room. The entire AI revolution lives inside air-conditioned buildings bolted to the electrical grid. Musk is not competing for that market. He is engineering the silicon that survives outside of it. One-third the power is not a spec sheet footnote. It is the physics threshold that severs intelligence from the wall socket. Without that number, every robot on Earth stays tethered. With it, the algorithm walks. Less than ten percent of the cost is not a pricing strategy. It is the line where a machine brain stops being a capital expenditure and becomes a commodity component. When the chip inside a humanoid costs less than the motors in its legs, you do not manufacture hundreds of robots. You manufacture millions. Wall Street is valuing the AI revolution by who dominates the data center. Musk is building the only silicon designed to leave one. Nvidia built the brain of the cloud. Musk is building the brain of the physical world. No one has priced that in yet.

Jensen Huang just validated Elon Musk’s entire ecosystem in a single breath. Not one product. All of it. Huang: “The work he’s doing in Grok, self-driving cars, and Optimus. These are all world-class. Every single one of them is revolutionary. Every single one of them is going to be a gigantic opportunity.” To the public, a chatbot, a car, and a robot look like three separate bets. They are one project. The total automation of human cognition and physical labor. A digital brain. A spatial nervous system. A physical body. Musk is building all three simultaneously. Huang is supplying the compute to fuse them. Huang: “We do a lot of business with Tesla and xAI. Elon is an extraordinary engineer, and I love working with him. We’ve built some amazing computers together, and we’re going to build many more.” This is not a vendor relationship. It is the most consequential technological alliance in history and most people think it is a business partnership. Then Huang said what should end every debate about Optimus. Huang: “This is the first robot that really has a chance to achieve the high volume and technology scale necessary to advance technology.” Huang: “Right around the corner. Likely to be the next multi-trillion dollar industry.” The humanoid robot race will not be won in a research lab. It will be won on the manufacturing floor. Every other robotics company on earth can build a robot. Tesla can flood the planet with them. Because Tesla already knows how to stamp metal, build batteries, and deploy autonomous inference at global scale. The rest of the industry has prototypes. Tesla has the most sophisticated manufacturing operation on earth. When the world’s leading chipmaker calls your robot the next multi-trillion dollar industry, the debate is over. One supplies the chips. One builds everything the chips make possible. When that infrastructure scales across Grok, FSD, and Optimus simultaneously, the question stops being whether this changes everything. It becomes how fast.

Elon Musk just put a five-year timeline on moving the majority of AI compute off the surface of the Earth. Musk: “5 years from now my prediction is we will launch and be operating every year more AI in space than the cumulative total on Earth.” Not decades from now. Five years. Dwarkesh Patel broke down the math live. 100 gigawatts of AI in orbit requires roughly 10,000 Starship launches per year. One launch every single hour. Musk confirmed it without flinching. The entire operation could run on as few as 20 or 30 physical Starships, each one cycling back to the pad every 30 hours. A fleet smaller than most regional airlines. Deploying more intelligence per year than the entire planet currently runs. Musk: “SpaceX is gearing up to do 10,000 launches a year. And maybe even 20 or 30,000 launches a year.” Every data center under construction right now. Every GPU cluster. Every billion-dollar AI facility going up across three continents. All of it combined would still fall short of what one company plans to put above the atmosphere every year. The reason no one else can follow him here is physics. AI scaling on the ground is already hitting hard ceilings. Grid capacity. Permitting. Cooling. The surface of the planet has a finite budget for how much power you can feed into compute. Space does not. Unobstructed solar at a scale Earth physically cannot provide. Musk: “On Earth you can get to around a terawatt a year of AI in space before you start having fuel supply challenges for the rocket.” A terawatt. That single number exceeds the entire electrical generation capacity of the United States. And the only constraint Musk names is not engineering. Not physics. Not capital. Fuel supply for the rockets. This is why SpaceX and xAI were never two separate visions. The rockets exist to move intelligence off the surface. The AI exists to justify building the rockets. One architecture split across two companies. Every other AI lab on the planet is fighting over the same finite pool of terrestrial power and real estate. Musk is not trying to win that fight. He is leaving the board entirely. Five years from now, the majority of functioning intelligence in the solar system may not be on this planet. It will be above it, running on sunlight, bound by no grid, governed by no jurisdiction. Earth becomes the secondary compute environment in its own solar system.
