This is a great scene! Definitely applies to today's politics too.

This makes me miss Ann Richards even more. And Barbara Jordan. And Molly Ivins!

This was good too:

I loved Dixie Carter. Remember the clip of her using Marla Maples phone to call "The Donald" to tell him off? Classic.

One of my all time favorite TV characters. 🥰🥰 That show taught me that I could stand up for myself and be intelligent about it. And since no one else was helping me with that at the time, those Designing Women were a godsend to an awkward teen. 😕

Scary that we still have to say this 36 years later.

Love this character. In real life, Dixie was actually a Republican but championed for civil rights and same-sex marriage later in life. In a pact with producer’s, she always got to sing on an episode after one of these big liberal speeches. She was lovely and all southern charm.

That’s my TV Momma, right there! Loved and miss the brilliant and beautiful Dixie.

“Why the biggest question on your small mind..” Just pure gold right here ❤️

@MlnlFalcon Am I just remembering incorrectly or were Designing Women and Murphy Brown on CBS the same night? I started watching both these shows in junior high. Julia and Murphy are two of the best characters in TV history. And two of the best actresses ever.
