3D Gradient Texturing is a technique designed for Stylized, Cartoony, and Lowpoly Art Styles, especially suited for Mobile Games!📱👾 This method is perfect for solid objects or segmented models that won't experience geo distortion from a Rig ⚙️ #GameDev #timelapse #3d #Blender

Precision in geometry is key, increasing polygon count and adding vertices to define details on the 3D model. For texture maps, I use 128x128 or 64x64 pixels, extracting colors from references with the Eyedropper tool in Photopea, creating gradients with the gradient tool 🔧

You also need to configure the compression correctly in the engine. Due to the reduced size of the map, excessive compression can blur the boundaries between colors. But if you configure the map compression properly, you can even scale a set of UVs within a single 1-pixel row.

My game design teacher showed us something similar to this. this is pretty cool!

Glad to see the techniques we were doing in the ps1/ps2 and Dreamcast days are coming back. Nice cheap way to get shading

Outstanding work! I'll be making use of your research! ⭐️

amazing work 🔥

Me encanta la tecnica

this is amazing do you have a Youtube Chanel showing this too I want to learn it.

I recommend the video by moltenbolt, he analyzed the technique quite well: There are also others who have made videos and content on the topic

Uh i love it! Maybe now i will get good textures :D
