These have got to be the dumbest people on TV. “Ohio State has the best offensive player in the country in Jeremiah Smith and best defensive player in Caleb Downs.” “But next year Bryce Underwood could be the best player in the country.” If Jeremiah Smith is the best offensive player and has to come back—wouldn’t he be the best player in the country? Bryce is the #80 PFF graded QB and #71 in completion percentage. Do they just let anyone on TV?

Taylor Jenkins & Brush Cut The brush cut is a cut that targets the opponent's transition defense with a fastbreak runner's early backdoor or a rim runner's trailer cut. Except for teams that use tagging up for transition defense, most teams try to sprint to the paint and matching up afterward. So, when the fastbreak runner makes an early backdoor, it automatically creates a defensive collapse, which leads to long close-outs or open 3s for the offensive team. Also, if the offensive team cannot get an open 3 with that cut, they adjust the spacing and are already breaking the overload at the beginning of the offense.

Perfect 1v1 Drill For Finding Your LOCKDOWN Defenders! Coach LoGalbo takes you through a drill that is perfect for finding your lockdown defenders that you can rely on when the lights turn on. As Nick LoGalbo says, it's a great way to find your "Rambo" which is a defender that you can rely on to defend your opponent’s best ball handler in the full court. And, an added offensive benefit to this drill, is that it allows for offensive players to work on their ball handling in the face of defensive pressure! This 1 on 1 Contain Drill is from Nick LoGalbo's Outer Third Defense (No Middle Defense). That's why the goal of this basketball drill is to force the opponent's primary ball handlers to the outer thirds of the basketball court (and out of the middle!) as soon as they catch the ball. By doing this, it allows the defense to dictate the entry pass to one side of the floor. By keeping the ball on the outer third of the basketball court, you can overload the backside of the defense which helps control the opponents passing lanes, deters easy passes and helps eliminate the dribble drive. You can incorporate this drill every other day in practice to re-emphasize to your defenders the importance of keeping the ball handlers out of the middle of the basketball court. Instructions and Keys to the 1 on 1 Contain Drill: - Give the ball handler a cushion. This makes it easier to contain them in the outer thirds. - Chest and contest a crossover to the middle. You do not turn your body. You must beat the offensive player to the spot and turn them back to the outer thirds. - If you get beat, you sprint ahead of the ball. This prevents the offensive player from getting an angle to the basket. - After running through the drill for a specified amount of time, switch directions so the offensive players must focus on using both hands as their primary dribbling hand. - It is important to mix up players rather than like positions always competing against each other, so that players get used to guarding a wide variety of positions. 2v2 Score Game! All players start at the 10. Coach throws the ball into 1 of the offensive players. Ball carrier must touch the 20y line then they can score. Offensive player without the ball has to touch the hash or sideline before they can block. Defenders mirror the offense. If you’re on the ball carrier side you have to touch the end zone. Blocker side defender must touch the same time hash or sideline. Sometimes I’m not a fan of 2v2+ drills as there’s too much info to process, but this was a sweet spot of action and reading + reacting. Good drill that’s gonna stay in the rotation for sure!

Educating #Bronstans & Gen Z who aren’t familiar with rule & enforcement changes over time. This video is ONLY ONE GAME in 1998 finals, game 3. There were 17! offensive fouls & travels called in just that ONE game with up to 14 of them likely not called today And People wonder why late 90's game were low scoring & didn't look as talented as today. That's because the rules/enforcement HEAVILY favored the defense. 1.There was effectively one less step allowed in traveling AND shuffling your feet was far more frequently called travel than today. 2. They were not allowed to palm the ball anywhere near the amount they do today. 3. Very little movement in screens was allowed while today they allow a considerable amount of moving while setting screens which help players get open 4. Offensive players couldn't push defenders with off arm or lowered shoulder that you see in just about every possession today. The most they allowed in the 90's was when offensive player had his back to the basket and the offensive player could push with his back -- which is what Shaq did as well as many other bigs. That's a reason the 90's was dominated by centers & power forwards. The few instances that they allowed offensive players to initiate contact was in the post but didn't allow it on the perimeter.

All in 11.06secs. Turn every attack into an offensive transition. The opposition thinks they are winning, and you must be whinning wallowing in self-pity. Rise up those times are the most opportune moments, be I'm the right frame of mind to react quickly with positivity.
