My 3 wood is probably my favorite club in my bag, with that being said, I only hit it off the tee if hitting my driver will put me into trouble.

A very rational way to think about it!

Recheck data for guys with a 115+ swing speed. I lost confidence with driver and was all over the place, but I could pure 3 woods off the tee. 3 wood let me still play with confidence until I got my driver working again. Confidence isn't measured by Arccos is it?

Why would I care about .01% of golfers who are huge outliers? I am worried about everyone else!

Those that can't hit their driver but can their 3 wood are probably playing the wrong driver and should get fitted for one.

It’s driver or 2i off the tee for me I hit this into the fairway at a much higher percentage than my driver and a few yards further than my 3-wood

Those stats could be misleading. Golfers are more likely to hit driver when it's wide open skewing the stats.

The issue is more in the clubhead design. It's just way harder to hit a 3-wood better than a driver. The physics are pretty clear there, and if that's the case for someone they likely have the wrong driver.
