BLACKROCK'S SECRET CHANCELLERY VISIT: MERZ SELLS GERMANY WHILE 177,000 INDUSTRIAL JOBS VANISH Journalist Patrik Baab just exposed a development that should freeze every German citizen in place. The man sitting in the Chancellery is not working for Germany. He is working for BlackRock. And the sell-out is already quantifiable in hundreds of thousands of destroyed industrial jobs. THE BLACKROCK REVELATION ➡️ BlackRock CEO Larry Fink was secretly received in the Chancellery. ➡️ Baab states that the possible decision to sell out the Federal Republic was made in that room. ➡️ The same Friedrich Merz now occupies the highest office while acting, in Baab’s words, like a “governor of foreign interests.” THE TIPPING POINT ALREADY PASSED ➡️ Cutting Germany off from affordable Russian energy pushed deindustrialization past the point of no return. ➡️ Mid-sized companies with 900 employees are relocating entire production lines to Uzbekistan, China, and the United States. ➡️ One entrepreneur from Halle is even building a vocational school on the new factory grounds because skilled workers no longer exist in Germany. ➡️ These moves take four years from planning to the first running machine and involve billions. They are irreversible. WHO REALLY OWNS GERMAN INDUSTRY ➡️ After the Schröder-Fischer tax exemption on capital gains, German banks sold their stakes. ➡️ American funds moved in. Today not a single DAX company is free of major U.S. fund ownership, often through cross-holdings. ➡️ Managers’ bonuses and appointments are controlled by those funds. Where the money is earned — USA, China, or elsewhere — no longer matters to them. ➡️ “The German economy is no longer master in its own house.” THE JOB DESTRUCTION NUMBERS ➡️ 177,000 industrial jobs disappeared in a single year. ➡️ Auto industry and suppliers alone lost 52,000. ➡️ Mechanical engineering lost 28,000. ➡️ Metal industry lost another 24,000. ➡️ The head of the Federal Employment Agency confirmed that 15,000 industrial jobs are still vanishing every month. ➡️ Service-sector gains cannot compensate. Hundreds of thousands more are sliding into basic security. THE POLITICAL REALITY ➡️ Merz has publicly pledged that Nord Stream will never restart, locking in expensive energy for German industry. ➡️ Baab asks who blew up the pipelines and answers: the Americans. Merz works in that interest. ➡️ This political generation has tied its personal fate to American interests and the Ukraine war. An independent German economic policy is impossible under them. THE BOTTOM LINE While factories leave, jobs evaporate, and American capital tightens its grip, the Chancellor sits in the Kanzleramt advancing BlackRock’s agenda instead of Germany’s survival. This is not mismanagement. This is the systematic dismantling of a nation’s industrial base. #BlackRockMerz #GermanyDeindustrialization #177000Jobs #LarryFink #SellOut #IndustrialCollapse #MerzExposed

II First Drive : Kia Syros EV II ✅ Had a chance to spend time with the Kia Syros EV & have covered aspects of the exterior, interior and more in the earlier posts. HTX+ 51 kWh 🔋 🏷️ A short test drive taken — key pointers: 👇 👉 Seating / Visibility / Steering ➡️ You sit quite upright, visibility is commanding and the overall view is quite good. The quarter glass adds further to the visibility. ➡️ Steering is adjustable only rake, not reach. The seats 💺 are electrically adjustable for the forward-back position and get a solid feel. ➡️ Drive selector is on the steering column thus takes time to get used to ➡️ Koreans are making some of the best steering — giving solid connect with car ,gets drive modes, as well as paddle shifters, while the switches get good tactile feedback. ORVMS view is good 👍 👉 Drive / Suspension ➡️ Took it on a bad road patch to check the suspension response — it was fine and quite stable. Didn’t get much suspension thuds inside the cabin & we weren’t essentially at high speeds ➡️ Driving overall the Syros EV is better vs the ICE Syros. The battery pack weight adds to stability at high speeds. ➡️ Of course, there is quite a bit of body roll evident coz of tall boy Design ➡️ NVH is fine up to 80–90 km/h; above that, some air noise is noticeable from pillars 👉 Drive Modes / Brakes ➡️ Syros EV gets 3 drive modes — Eco, Normal & Sport. ➡️ They work as desired. Even in Eco mode, power isn’t deficient car is eager to go,instant torque in evs helps the cause ➡️ Steering weights up in Sport mode and the car gives quite a pull in this mode thrill ride ➡️ Braking is quite adequate — it’s sorted here as well. 👍 gets all disc brakes 👉 Regenerative Braking ➡️ Syros EV gets 5(five) regenerative levels, with the top one being the i-Pedal mode. ➡️ This is where the car comes to a complete halt (I-pedal) ➡️ It is offered from the base variant as well. ➡️ Rest other levels are 1, 2, 3 & 0. 👉 Infotainment / Features ➡️ The 30-inch display setup works fine, with plenty of details on display, settings ,it’s flow is good no lags whatsoever ➡️ Music quality with Harman Kardon is good, if not great. ➡️ Infotainment system is quite sleek and works flawlessly. ➡️ The view and flow of the system are quite good. 👉 Interior / Space :: ➡️ The interior is where the Syros EV shines. ➡️ It gets ample space and the sense of space is even enhanced by the panoramic sunroof. ➡️ The rear space & interiors are best among under-4-metre cars. ➡️ The quality, fit & finish is simply segment-leading. 👌 ➡️ Reverse camera quality is quite impressive as well ➡️ Loved the car key as well 👉 Overall :: ➡️ Kia Syros EV seems to be a compelling package, especially the 42 kWh variant ➡️ It will outsell Ice Syros version for sure ,Kia india needs to be complemented for Syros ev as a whole ➡️ 42 kWh The base-to-base-up variants are our recommendations, but the 51 kWh goes expensive for our liking and doesn’t look as compelling at that price. ➕ +ves ➡️ Rear space ➡️ Fit, finish & quality impressive for the segment ➡️ Single-pedal driving ➡️ Korean software ➡️ LTW ➡️ Features packed ➡️ 300–320 km real-world range (42 kWh) & 370-400 (51 kWh) ➡️ Charging speeds > ➖ -ves ➡️ Polarising design ➡️ 51 kWh variants are expensive ➡️ Poor variant distribution ➡️ Okish NVH at high speeds ➡️Hyundai rival arriving soon ➡️ Head and tail lamps close to edges prone to damage Kia India Kia Worldwide Kia Motors India Suhail Gulati - ElecTree Ferrari Rules Vahan Warta (वाहन वार्ता ) Torque India Asheesh Arora AP Sagar EV Geeks of India Rakesh Kumar Tesla Club India®

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan at the ramadan Tent Projects Iftar in Trafalgar square on March 16th 2026, "One of the reasons why we are the greatest city in teh world" "I want to say to my non-Muslim friends who are here tonight" "To my Jewish friends, to my Christian friends, to my Hindu friends, to my Sikh friends, thank you" "This is what allyship looks like" Your reminder that the Ramadan Tent project have held iftars - the evening meal during the month of ramadan for many years, including under four Conservative Prime Ministers with absolutely no issue whatsoever: ➡️ 2015 under David Cameron ➡️ 2019 under Theresa May ➡️ 2022 under Boris Johnson ➡️ 2024 under Rishi Sunak Trafalgar square is a hub of universal events. For example on April 3rd, The Passion of Jesus, a free annual open-air play, will take place between 12:00 PM and 3:15 PM There are 50+ events in Trafalgar square every year, the main religious cultural ones include: ➡️ Diwali on the Square (Hindu, Sikh, Jain) ➡️ Eid in the Square (Islamic celebration) ➡️ Jewish Heritage Month and Hanukkah events ➡️ Chinese New Year (East Asian cultural festival) ➡️ St Patrick’s Day Festival (Irish culture) ➡️ Black on the Square (Black culture & heritage) ➡️ Pride in London (LGBTQ+ culture, often ending there) In addition to which there are multiple cultural showcases too Everyone is entitled to disagree with whatever they wish from other people's chosen way of life, but Kemi Badenoch's suggestion that one faith should be singled out and not allowed to hold an event at Trafalgar square is sad

🚨World Premiere Film Release🚨 presents REGIME CHANGE: HAMAS, ISRAEL & THE WORLD'S FUTURE. The film features the candid and sometimes shocking insights of Efraim Halevy, the former director of Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad. These include: ➡️Mr. Halevy’s hope for “regime change in Israel” and belief that the end of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s government would be “beneficial, not only to the people of Israel, but also to mankind as a whole.” ➡️“Something has happened to (Netanyahu),” the Prime Minister who tapped Mr. Halevy to run Mossad in 1998. “I don’t think that the man I knew then is the man I see today” and “his health is not what it should be.” ➡️It was a mistake for Israel to enter Gaza militarily on the ground, as it has led to “agony on both sides.” ➡️Netanyahu’s desire to “destroy Hamas entirely” will not be achieved. ➡️Prior to Hamas’ October 7th attacks on Israel, Israeli military commanders “shouted down” soldiers who were warning “something was happening” in Gaza, close to Israel’s border. In some cases, “they were threatened they would be court martialed if they continued to report in the way they were reporting.” ➡️Israel has a "major responsibility" to offer the Palestinians "a viable form existence." ➡️On the world stage, China does not want World War III and Iran is not seeking a war with Israel. “It’s clearly seen by us that the Iranians are not keen that this should develop into a major confrontation between Iran and Israel.” ➡️“Intelligence chiefs have been playing a very, very important role in history of the world in the last 40, 50 years.” William Burns is “one of the most brilliant CIA chiefs in the history of the CIA.” The 20-minute film captures the highlights from an intimate conversation taped recently with the 89-year-old former spymaster at his home in Tel Aviv. It is a timely follow-up to an interview with Mr. Halevy that I produced 15 years ago for OMNI Television. WATCH THE FILM BELOW, SHARE IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA & SUBSCRIBE.

VUCIC WARNS: OIL CRISIS HITS NOW — FULL ESCALATION COMES AFTER SEPTEMBER Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has just made one of the most blunt assessments of the war between Russia and Ukraine and the looming energy crisis that any European head of state has ever expressed publicly. Sitting in the middle of summer, he said the real shortage of oil has already begun, state reserves are being emptied, and the situation will turn sharply worse within two months. What follows is not speculation. It is the reading of a man who has watched war destroy his own country and who now sees the same machinery grinding again. THE OIL SHOCK ALREADY HERE ➡️ For the first time we feel the real shortage of oil and we will have to intervene from state reserves with huge quantities of diesel. ➡️ This is driven by the Russia-Ukraine war and the Iran war at the same time. ➡️ Unlike all the others, Vučić believes the situation after September will be even worse than today. THE CORE LOGIC: NO WINNER, NO END ➡️ The war has lasted almost five years. Everybody is nervous. Nobody is happy. People are dying on a daily basis. ➡️ In both capitals and in many Western capitals, people in power are not delivering what they promised. ➡️ One has to win the war. You cannot stop it without a winning side or a defeated side. Nobody will give in easily. ➡️ That is why escalation is coming. THE SEPTEMBER PRESSURE POINT ➡️ Vučić expects Russians may launch a bigger conscription by the end of September or early October. ➡️ Ukraine faces deep problems of its own, visible in places like Lviv and along the front. ➡️ After Russia’s elections on 20 September, he sees no other choice for Moscow but to escalate. THE PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAP ➡️ Ukrainian drones have hit every single Russian refinery. That creates nervousness inside Russian society and pushes the Kremlin to act harder. ➡️ Ukrainians will do everything to escalate attacks deeper into Russian territory because they see it as a huge psychological advantage they can sell in the West. ➡️ The West believes each new strike brings Russia closer to the table. Vučić says the opposite is true: the resolve only mounts. THE EUROPEAN ILLUSION ➡️ Western European politicians are totally sure they are on the right side of history. ➡️ They treat any different opinion as forbidden. Serbia has not opened a single EU cluster in five years solely because it refused full CFSP alignment against Russia. ➡️ Nobody wants to compromise. Not Russians, not Ukrainians, not Europeans. Everybody wants the other side to lose. That is why the war lasts. THE BOTTOM LINE Vučić has lived through wars that cost Serbia 29 percent of its population in the First World War alone. He watches the same pattern repeat: leaders speak of victory while people become numbers, and the rifle hanging on the wall in the first act is already being reached for in the third. The only thing that stops a war is a winner and a loser. Everything else is just more time for the escalation machine to run. IRAN'S REVENGE MOOD ERUPTS: SUPREME LEADER PROMISES "UNFORGETTABLE LESSONS" Professor Robert Pape has spent 20 years modeling the bombing of Iran and has advised every White House from 2001 to 2024. What he sees now is the exact nightmare scenario he warned about: Iran is stronger than before the war began, controls the Strait of Hormuz, and is in a pure mood of revenge. The Supreme Leader just vowed to deliver "unforgettable lessons" to America after U.S. soldiers were killed. The spiral is accelerating fast. THE EXPERT WHO SAW IT COMING ➡️ Pape has been modeling this exact conflict for two decades and says the patterns from history held up month by month. ➡️ Air power alone has never toppled a regime going all the way back to World War I. ➡️ The United States killed the supreme leader and 137 top Iranian leaders in the opening weeks, the equivalent of wiping out the American president, first family, half the cabinet, Pentagon leadership, CIA leadership, and a third of Congress. ➡️ The regime survived anyway. IRAN IS STRONGER TODAY ➡️ Iran now controls the Strait of Hormuz and can threaten virtually any ship that tries to pass. ➡️ It has demonstrated this power over and over, even when ships turn off their transponders. ➡️ Only a small fraction of its drone and missile arsenal is needed to keep hitting U.S. bases and shipping. ➡️ Iran entered the war with tens of thousands of drones and missiles and is still producing them at a rate of roughly 55,000 a year. THE REVENGE SPIRAL ➡️ The Supreme Leader used the exact phrase "unforgettable lessons" after American soldiers were killed in Jordan. ➡️ Iran is attacking U.S. bases more aggressively and has the Houthis shutting down the Red Sea oil route. ➡️ Pape says emotions are coursing through Iran and they are not pulling back. They want revenge. ➡️ Controlling pieces of homeland territory is the single biggest risk factor for suicide terrorism, according to Pape’s 25 years of research. THE ESCALATION TRAP ➡️ The choice is now brutal: accept a global economic crisis as oil and refining capacity run dry, or physically try to take Hormuz back. ➡️ Pape puts the chance of limited U.S. ground operations with boots on the ground at roughly 70 percent, possibly within weeks. ➡️ He compares the situation directly to Lyndon Johnson’s trap in Vietnam, where leaders escalate even when they know the military path is unlikely to work because the political cost of accepting defeat feels worse. THE BOTTOM LINE Iran is not weakened. It is stronger, in control of the world’s most critical oil chokepoint, and openly in a mood of revenge. The next few months will decide whether this stays a limited conflict or crosses into something far darker. This is the sound of a spiral that no longer has an easy exit. THE HIGH MORALITY TRAP: HOW EUROPE IS CHEERING ITS WAY TOWARD NUCLEAR CATASTROPHE Swiss journalist Roger Köppel delivers a razor-sharp warning that exposes the dangerous self-deception driving European foreign policy. European leaders have locked themselves inside a mirror cabinet where every reflection tells them they stand on the highest moral ground. The more they celebrate strikes deep inside Russia, the more they push the continent toward a disaster they refuse to see coming. THE HIGH MORALITY ILLUSION ➡️ European politicians present themselves as the moral conscience of the world while actively fueling a conflict that risks nuclear war. ➡️ They describe every drone strike on Russian refineries and residential areas as a righteous act in defense of freedom and civilization. ➡️ The simple truth is that these attacks do not bring peace any closer. They only strengthen the determination in Moscow to show Europe exactly where the hammer hangs. THE NUCLEAR THREAT ➡️ Russia holds an arsenal of 6500 nuclear warheads backed by missiles too fast to be stopped. ➡️ European leaders act as if they are still dealing with a weak opponent who will eventually back down under pressure. ➡️ Cornering a nuclear power does not produce surrender. It produces the grim resolve to prove that ultimate power still exists. THE MILITARISTS WITHOUT A MILITARY ➡️ European politicians now speak in increasingly martial tones and aggressive posturing. ➡️ Yet European defense forces in key countries have become so hollow that soldiers have been forced to use wooden sticks as rifle substitutes during major NATO exercises. ➡️ This is not strength. It is empty verbal militarism from leaders who have forgotten what real power actually requires. THE MORAL HYPOCRISY ➡️ When European-supported drones hit Russian civilian buildings it is called regrettable collateral damage. ➡️ When Russia responds it is immediately branded as systematic and criminal aggression. ➡️ This double standard is not serious analysis. It is the clear symptom of a propaganda trance that no longer recognizes its own bias. THE HISTORICAL BETRAYAL ➡️ European leaders who should carry the lessons of history have abandoned the balanced wisdom once shown by statesmen like Helmut Kohl. ➡️ Kohl understood Russia as a proud nation with a deep need for respect and kept channels open even in difficult times. ➡️ Today's approach replaces that statesmanship with moral grandstanding and dangerous historical amnesia. THE BOTTOM LINE European politicians have wrapped their reckless escalation in the language of high morality and civilization. They cheer destruction from the safety of the spectator stands while ordinary people pay the price on both sides. They are not defending peace. They are gambling with the survival of the entire continent. This is the sound of Europe sleepwalking into catastrophe behind a mask of moral superiority. ECKARD: $125 IS NOT A RANDOM NUMBER — THE VETERAN TRADER’S PHYSICAL-BARREL CASE Veteran oil trader Troy Eckard is not arguing that high prices always last. He is arguing that this rally is different. Secretary Bessent can talk $40 oil after the war. The barrels, the reserve, and the military tape are telling another story. THE $125 QUESTION ➡️ Eckard’s question is simple: what is the right price of oil when the disruption is real and the resolution is not? ➡️ He says $125 is not a dart throw. The probability rises every week the war does not end. ➡️ “Do I just pick that number randomly? No, I don’t.” THE $40 STORY VERSUS THE TAPE ➡️ Bessent says that once the Iran war is over, oil could fall to $40 or below. ➡️ Eckard grants the math. New supply plus a later global recession could crush demand for a time. ➡️ Then he draws the line he has been repeating for months: don’t watch the lips. Watch the actions. WHY THIS IS NOT 2008 ➡️ In 2008 T. Boone Pickens talked $300 oil. The tape ran to $145 on speculation. ➡️ Eckard was there. He says this tape is not that tape. ➡️ Today it is physical barrels. Ongoing military action. No settlement in sight. Both sides say they will slow down. The continuation happens anyway. WHAT WASHINGTON IS ACTUALLY DOING ➡️ The United States is still exporting crude it cannot refine — about five million barrels a day. ➡️ It is still draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve instead of filling it. ➡️ If $40 after the war were the real base case, Eckard says the move would be obvious: stop the export flood and put barrels back in the SPR for financial and military security. ➡️ That is not what is happening. The actions say that without those extra barrels in the market, there is not enough oil. THE NEAR-TERM MAP ➡️ Oil is $94 — a sharp lift from two or three weeks ago, when a resolution still looked possible. ➡️ Eckard’s next checkpoint: $98 to $105 by Friday. “No more fudge factor. There’s no more room to play.” ➡️ Every “the war is about over” statement has been followed by more fire: Houthis hitting Saudi facilities, more cross-border action, more uncertainty across the Gulf. THE 90-DAY RISK ➡️ He puts midterms about 60 days out. Iran, in his read, is hoping Trump loses the House, the Senate, or both. ➡️ A divided Congress would look like weakness in Tehran — and that, he says, would invite more disruption, not less. ➡️ The only clean end he can see is boots on the ground. Nobody wants that. The other side has everything to lose and a lot to gain. That is how wars refuse to end. THE BOTTOM LINE Eckard’s call is $4 to $5 higher by Friday and $110 to $125 within 90 days — not because a trader shouted a number, but because physical supply is tight, the reserve is being emptied instead of refilled, and the war has no off-ramp. The $40 speech is a later chapter. This chapter is still being written in missing barrels. #OilPrices #TroyEckard #OilTo125 #SPR #EnergyCrisis #MiddleEastOil #CrudeOil HT: YouTube Eckard Enterprises | Oil & Gas Investing

IRAN FIRED BALLISTIC MISSILES AT A U.S. CARRIER — NANCE SAYS IT WAS A WARNING, NOT A KILL SHOT CENTCOM admitted Iran fired ballistic missiles — not cruise missiles — at a U.S. aircraft carrier near Hormuz. The USS Washington executed an evasion maneuver. IRGC then claimed the carrier and a destroyer were hit, damaged, and forced to flee. Malcolm Nance, former U.S. Navy senior chief and naval intelligence officer, sat with Mario Nawfal and drew a hard line between the shot, the propaganda, and what it would actually take to sink a carrier. THE SHOT ➡️ CENTCOM confirmed ballistic missiles were aimed at the carrier group, and the Washington maneuvered to avoid them. ➡️ IRGC claimed both the carrier and a destroyer were damaged and driven out of the engagement area. ➡️ Nance’s split verdict is blunt: he believes they were forced to leave the box. He does not believe they were damaged. THE HALF-TRUTH ➡️ Nance says Iran’s pattern is always the same: verify one real act, then pile a lie on top of it. ➡️ “The best form of propaganda is a truth, a half-truth capitalized by a lie.” ➡️ That is why a few ballistic missiles get sold as a carrier kill. The launch happened. The Hollywood ending did not. WHY FIVE MISSILES IS NOT A SINK ATTEMPT ➡️ Mario argued Iran would not try a real carrier kill with two or three rounds. Nance said Mario won that debate. ➡️ A serious attempt, in Nance’s math, looks like a massive coordinated salvo — he used the extreme of hundreds of missiles plus drones punching through the screen. ➡️ Five ballistic missiles is not that. “That’s not even attempting it.” ➡️ He calls yesterday’s fire technically warning shots: get off Fujairah, sit farther south near Salalah, do not loiter inside easy range. WHAT ACTUALLY KILLS A CARRIER ➡️ Ballistic missiles launched from Iran give the Navy about 20 to 30 minutes of warning. Computers plot the box while the bird is still climbing. ➡️ Aegis destroyers sit on the carrier with dozens of interceptors. Hitting those escorts is already hard. Hitting the carrier through them with a handful of rounds is harder. ➡️ Carriers die from fire, not from a clean hole in the paint. Nance’s yardstick is the Forrestal blaze and World War II hanger-deck disasters: a lucky pierce, ammunition cooking off, a conflagration eating stem to stern. ➡️ One or two hits can wreck aircraft, shut the flight deck, and send the ship running for Diego Garcia. That is not the same as sinking 6,000 sailors. ➡️ If Iran ever “lost their mind” and actually burned a carrier, Nance’s read is the United States does not climb back down the ladder. A carrier is one-twelfth of U.S. strike aviation. That is the line he will not treat as a game. THE NEW REALITY IN HORMUZ ➡️ This is not Nance’s young-sailor Gulf, when the Navy hunted Boghammers and expected to dominate the strait. ➡️ Hormuz at its narrowest is 21 to 32 nautical miles. You can see both sides. Iran can now touch U.S. ships in a way almost nobody believed before this war. ➡️ “Now they have the capacity to sink us, not just hurt us.” ➡️ That is why he is glad CENTCOM’s naval side is not taking dumb risk just to look tough. THE BOTTOM LINE Iran launched ballistic missiles at a U.S. carrier. The carrier moved. The damage claim is propaganda stacked on a real shot. Five missiles is a warning. A real kill shot is a different war — and Nance’s point is that Iran already proved it can reach the deck if someone is stupid enough to keep the ship in the wrong box. #Iran #USSWashington #Hormuz #MalcolmNance #USNavy #BallisticMissiles #CarrierGroup HT: YouTube Mario Nawfal Mario Nawfal

When Zack Polanski calmly called for the legalisation and regulation of drugs, to move distribution from criminal gangs to the state e.g. the NHS Carole Malone shouted out a number of objections which were mostly based on half truths, outright lies, and misinformation Here are some of the key points of clarification: ➡️ Portugal decriminalised drugs in 2001, there is no evidence that they plan to reverse this ➡️ Individuals caught with drugs are typically referred to a "Dissuasion Commission" composed of social workers, medical professionals, and legal experts, who may recommend treatment or impose fines, but not criminal penalties ➡️ Portugal's example is such a success that other countries are looking to replicate it e.g. Ireland ➡️ Malone was right to say that between 2000 and 2015 there was a 30x increase in hospitalizations associated with cannabis use. But this isn't viewed as a failure of the policy, it has led to evaluating and tweaking the policy for better outcomes ➡️ There is no evidence that decriminalising drugs in Portugal has led to an increase in the number of child deaths. Instead, the 2001 decriminalisation of drugs has led to a decrease in the number of drug related deaths. Before 2001 they had 131, and in 2008 they had 20 ➡️ Portugal's drug death toll was among the lowest in the EU, at 3 per million, compared to the EU average of 17.3 per million ➡️ The Washington Post's July 2023 investigation into Portugal's drug decriminalization policy did not conclude that the approach has failed, but it highlighted emerging challenges e.g. the rise of drug use in tourist areas of Porto, or the underfunding of services to help those on drugs with sometimes year long waits to get help ➡️ The Washington Post credited the policy pointing out that deaths from drug use has dropped significantly, there's a huge drop in HIV transmission from drug use, and it has reduced the number of people jailed for drug-related offences ➡️ The King’s College London report Malone referred to does indeed refer to the dangers of drugs, but it refers to the dangers of illicit and illegal drugs in the UK, and not the impact of drugs in countries where drug use has been legalised, like in Portugal ➡️ Malone claimed that drug scams through airports are on the rise in countries where drug use is legal as people do not want to pay tax on their drug use. Trafficking drugs through any airport remains illegal. And in the case of Portugal, there has not been an increase in drugs taken through airports to avoid paying domestic drug taxes Zack Polanski remained calm and composed throughout Carole Malone's repeated shouty interruptions. It's as if she was trying to cover up the poor use of information to get an ideological point across with the brashness I would like to think that Carole Malone, like Zack Polanski, and most people would like to see drug use drop to improve people's lives in society. On that much we can probably agree. But as this one exchange showed, you can either use data and facts to make your point, or you can shout over other people spewing misinformation. The latter may appear more sincere because of the expressed emotion, but it's really the former that will lead to and drive meaningful change
