It would become American MTV's first narrative program, and took the edge off of Sunday night if you were a teen in the '80s.

Going to school the next day and reciting the latest episode with your mates! 👍

And all those years on and we are still watching it and loving it.

The Young Ones was my introduction to Rik Mayall. I can't think of a role of his that wasn't some form of extension or evolution of his character Rick 😂. What a legend!

I was 14. We had no idea this was coming. We had never seen anything like it. Being a teenager far away from London, I had no concept of the burgeoning 'alternative comedy' scene. The Young Ones completely blew away my generation.
