‼️🇺🇸 💥USS Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer | Precision Strike Platform The USS Arleigh Burke class destroyer is one of the most powerful surface combat ships in active US Navy service. In recent operations, these destroyers have been used to conduct long range precision strikes using the Tomahawk cruise missile. How it works Arleigh Burke class destroyers are equipped with the Mk 41 Vertical Launch System. This system allows the ship to fire Tomahawk missiles directly from the sea without warning and from a safe distance. Tomahawk missile role The Tomahawk is a long range, land attack cruise missile designed for high accuracy. It can strike command centers, air defense sites, radar stations, and high value infrastructure deep inside enemy territory. Guidance is achieved through GPS, terrain matching, and advanced navigation systems. Why the US Navy uses destroyers for strikes Using destroyers for missile strikes provides flexibility and speed. These ships can operate close to conflict zones while remaining hard to detect. They allow the US to project power without relying on nearby air bases or large carrier groups. Strategic impact When a Burke class destroyer launches Tomahawk missiles, it sends a clear message of deterrence and dominance. These strikes are precise, controlled, and designed to limit collateral damage while achieving military objectives. Modern naval warfare is no longer just about ships at sea. It is about reach, accuracy, and decision making within minutes. The Arleigh Burke class destroyer represents that reality.

Strategic Bombers Are More Relevant Than Ever Decades ago, these aircraft had to fly directly over their targets to drop bombs. That era is over, and things have only gotten easier for them. Now they are standoff platforms capable of launching modern, heavy, long-range missiles (thousands of kilometers), including hypersonics, in large quantities, without ever entering contested airspace. This proves they are far from obsolete and have become massive flying weapons platforms. These bombers operate in squadrons, with missile ranges of 1,000–5,500 km (cruise) or around 2,000 km (hypersonic), devastating warheads, and launched in high numbers. Hypersonics like Kinzhal, YJ-21, and the future ARRW can evade modern defenses, while cruise missiles like JASSM and Kh-101 achieve saturation at a much lower cost. Russian glide bombs are being motorized to become an even cheaper option, and there are already configurations where bombers carry up to 20 glide bombs. Imagine 5 B-52H Stratofortress launching 20–24 stealth AGM-158 JASSM-ER missiles with 1,000 km range each. That’s over 100 missiles in a single salvo. Or 5 Tu-160M2 launching 6 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal each, or in another configuration up to 12 Kh-101 missiles per aircraft. If you want to go further: what navy could survive a squadron salvo from Chinese H-6 or H-20 launching 4–6 anti-ship hypersonic missiles with 1,500–2,000 km range? Strategic bombers are more relevant than ever and now operate much more safely. In the future, in possible larger conflicts, we’ll see waves of 20 bombers launching salvos of 150–250 missiles, overwhelming defenses and causing immense destruction. These platforms provide extended reach at a far lower cost than medium- or long-range ground launched missiles. Not to mention the low operating costs of the B-52, Tu-95, and H-6, with the latter probably having even lower costs. The trend is toward missiles and bombs with ever-greater range, lower cost, and modular designs to be launched from bombers. We can expect these aircraft to remain in service for at least another 20–30 years.

//The Wire//1730Z June 23, 2025// //PRIORITY// //BLUF: IRANIAN COUNTERATTACK TARGETS US MILITARY BASES IN MIDDLE EAST. SHIPPING CONCERNS MOUNT AS IRAN THREATENS TO TARGET SHIPPING IN STRAIT OF HORMUZ.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- Middle East: This morning the kingdom of Qatar closed their airspace to commercial aviation traffic. Separately, both the United States and Britain issued shelter-in-place orders for their citizens. Shortly after these announcements, multiple Iranian ballistic missiles struck US military bases throughout the region. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar appears to have been successfully targeted to some degree, and impacts were reported at the US Navy base in Bahrain. Reports have emerged indicating unknown bases in Iraq were also targeted by ballistic missiles. Shortly after the missiles were launched, American fighter aircraft were observed scrambling in Saudi Arabia, with a number of sorties being conducted on targets unknown. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: As this is a developing situation, the success of these missile strikes remains unknown until the dust settles. Video evidence indicates that many of the missiles were successfully intercepted, however some made it through to successfully impact their targets. Qatar announced that 100% of the missiles intended for their nation were successfully intercepted, however this remains unconfirmed at this time and Qatari media groups stated that at least three missiles evaded defenses to impact at Al Udeid. No word on casualties from any of the strikes reported so far today. Following the strikes on Iranian facilities over the weekend (and today's retaliatory strikes), tensions have escalated sharply throughout the region. Iranian forces have threatened to "close" the Strait of Hormuz, which traditionally involves the emplacement of sea mines throughout the choke point. There are no indications that IRGCN and/or IRIN vessels have laid any mines just yet. However, some commercial shipping companies that are unwilling to accept the risk have turned around and begun returning to their homeports. Analyst: S2A1 Research: //END REPORT//

Iran Strikes 21 US Targets Across the Region, Claims F-35 Hangars Destroyed Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps said it struck 21 American air and naval targets across the Middle East in retaliation for US strikes on Iranian ports and islands near the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC said its aerospace force used long-range solid-fuel missiles to destroy four locations, including F-35 fighter jet hangars and a command-and-control centre at the Al-Azraq (Muwaffaq Salti) base in Jordan, alongside drone attacks on the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and the Ali Al Salem base in Kuwait. Iran also claimed downing a US MQ-9 drone over Jam. Jordan’s military said it intercepted and shot down five missiles fired toward Azraq, reporting falling debris but no casualties or material damage. A US official cited by Iran International said at least four ballistic missiles and several drones were fired at bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, with initial assessments indicating nearly all were intercepted. Kuwait reported intercepting hostile aerial targets, and air raid sirens sounded in Bahrain. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the US strikes and warned regional states against allowing their territory to be used by Washington or Israel against Iran. Does the gap between Tehran’s destruction claims and the interception accounts reported by Jordan and US officials change how this exchange will be measured?
