Caleb Hammer hammers down the importance of emergency funds for Americans on Joe Rogan "You don't get to have fun if you don't have a fully funded emergency fund, that's a basic reality..only 60% of Americans can cover a $400 emergency" "An emergency fund is 3 months to 6 months of everything you need to live..I'm on the 6 month side bc things like the pandemic..we're in that world..might as well go full way and get a 6 month emergency fund..you got a lifeline..that is so critical to life..if you don't have that, I don't want to see you in a drive thru..going on a vacation is not acceptable..needs to be just as critical as having like a first aid kit in the house..that's what causes Americans to just F up their houses financially" (Via Joe Rogan Experience 2509)

Good work 👍🏾 Drop the emergency fund though! You don’t need it. That’s what credit cards are for!💰

Caleb Hammer says “Dave Ramsey’s $1,000 emergency fund is leaving people WORSE off than before they started saving”. Most real emergencies cost more than $1k . Car breaks down. Medical bill. Lose your job. $1,000 is gone in one shot, and now you’re back in debt. Here’s what actually works: → Save 1 month of your full budget (not $1,000) → Have kids? Make it 2 months. The risk is higher. → The goal is simple: survive 30 days while you find new income A $1,000 “safety net” isn’t safety. It’s a false sense of security. How much is in YOUR emergency fund right now?

Unexpected expenses can come up at any time. Having an emergency fund means you won't have to panic when they do. Start with what you have and build it over time.
