You don’t even want to imagine it occurring during takeoff or landing. A few things could be at play here: The main landing gear shock strut relies on hydraulic fluid and compressed dry air (or nitrogen) to absorb and control loads. Before LNG is loaded into a tank, the tank must be properly prepared through a series of controlled stages. This preparation is critical to ensure safety and to prevent damage due to extreme temperatures. An LNG tank is fitted with different lines, each serving a specific purpose: filling lines, spray lines, discharge lines, and pumps. The first stage is drying. The tank may contain humid air, which can lead to ice formation at low temperatures. To prevent this, dry air is introduced from the bottom of the tank through the filling lines to displace the moist air. Next is inerting. After drying, inert gas is introduced into the tank to purge out the dry air. This step is important to eliminate oxygen and reduce the risk of forming flammable gas mixtures. The third stage is gassing-up (vaporizing). Since inert gas contains carbon dioxide, which can freeze at low temperatures, it must be removed. Warm LNG vapor is introduced through the spray lines to displace the inert gas and prepare the tank for cooling. Then comes cooling down, which is a critical stage. The tank must be gradually cooled to avoid thermal stress that could damage the structure. Cold LNG is sprayed into the tank through spray nozzles, bringing the temperature down to about -110°C to -130°C. Finally, the loading (filling) stage begins. At this point, the tank is ready to safely receive LNG, and the cargo is loaded through the filling lines. In simple terms, the process moves from removing moisture, to removing oxygen, to introducing gas, then cooling the tank, and finally loading the LNG.

Out on the ramp with the A350 today, taking a close look at the nose landing gear safety pin setup. There are 3 holes visible on the mechanism, all different diameters. Only one is the right size and spot where the full safety/ground lock pin inserts completely to lock the gear solid. The others are for pivots and such, so the pin won't seat fully. And importantly, no covers on any of them.... That's by design, keeps everything easy to inspect, access, and work with during maintenance.. One wrong hole and things can go sideways (seen it on other types like the 787 before mods). Always double-check by eye and feel for that solid engagement.

We have 2 Rapid Prototype jets on contract and funded. We have contracts in place for five more EMD platforms and the Department is committing to work with you [Congress] to figure out how to adjust the 2027 budget submission to fund the E-7 [procurement] and work the 28 (FY-2028) going forward. Good Morning you lovely people! Back to work after a lovely break with the family. Got a lovely breakfast at Dinos today. Nice and busy. I’m working the fish stall today, got mattresses going out on delivered and I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. We live in uncertainty at the moment with the cost of materials, fuel and everything going up. Politicians don’t seem to care about all us lot going to work day in day out keeping this beautiful country going. But please don’t give up, tough times don’t last but tough people do. We are all feeling the burn, but we stick the kettle on in a crisis and keep on moving forward. Sending love to you all. Have an absolute blinder. Now time to buy some seafood. Bosh❤️

For years the prediction was the same. The dollar is about to collapse. It keeps not happening. Here is the piece most people miss. Dollar strain and record stock markets are not a contradiction. They are two different things. The strain is real. But so is this. Global capital keeps flowing into US assets, because out of the whole world, this is where the growth and the liquidity are. And to buy US assets, you need US dollars. So the flows themselves put a bid under the dollar. Money comes in, it has to become dollars first, and that keeps the dollar strong against everything else. That is why the dollar has not fallen to its death, no matter how many times it was called. The demand for dollars is not sentiment. It is built into the act of buying America.

Tens of thousand of internally displaced people are currently crossing from the South of Gaza back to their homes in the North, some laying eyes on their cities for the first time in 15 months. And finally, after days of waiting and finding a place in line, at 7am today Al-Rashid Street was opened for pedestrians to make the trek home. We are so honored to be there every step of the way. The Sameer Project has been planning for this moment. Planning to support, help, and celebrate those retuning. We supplied water tanks on a truck to those going on foot, 8,000 liters of fresh drinking water to prepare those for their journey. We can’t stress enough how much we need you right now. We need to prepare for the reported 650,000 Palestinians retuning to the northern area. Water, food, additional necessary aid, we have the process and the systems to support. Please contribute to allow us to help.

As the CFM LEAP engine shuts down, you can hear the distinctive “whoosh” sound followed by a gush of air. That is the Reverse Bleed System (RBS) at work. During normal operation, a significant amount of fuel remains unpurged in the system after engine shutdown. This residual fuel, located near or within the hot section, vaporizes due to high temperatures and deposits carbon (coke) on the fuel nozzles. Over time, nozzle coking leads to several operational and maintenance issues, including loss of thrust, reduced engine efficiency due to incomplete combustion, accelerated deterioration of hot-section components (combustor and High-Pressure Turbine), engine start failures, potential engine stalls, and increased unscheduled engine removals. The Reverse Bleed System (RBS) prevents fuel nozzle coking by automatically introducing cool air from the core compartment into the engine core flowpath after shutdown. This effectively lowers the fuel nozzle temperature below the coking threshold. The last flight of the day contributes the most to fuel nozzle coke accumulation because of the extended dwell time at the gate. Day 144, orbit 2233 — Many of you noticed the pink glow in the recent timelapses done in Columbus… That’s thanks to Veggie 🌱, the International Space Station’s vegetable production system — our little space garden! The Veggie chamber glows magenta-pink because it emits a light spectrum that’s perfect for plant growth! During Expedition 74, Veggie hosted the Veg-06 experiment, with two main goals: to study how alfalfa plants and beneficial bacteria work together in microgravity to capture nitrogen from the air and turn it into nutrients plants can use… and to look at how lignin – the material that helps plants stand upright on Earth – changes in space. The alfafa plants 🌿 were successfully grown – watered and nurtured by all of us – then harvested (aerial parts and roots) and stowed in a freezer. They were sent back to Earth for further analysis on board the CRS SpX‑34 cargo Dragon. For us, working on Veggie is a real taste of home – a reminder of what a garden looks and smells like. There’s something very special about watching the plants grow and caring for them day after day. I loved working on this experiment 💚 It is clear that being able to grow fresh food 🌶 in space will be crucial for long exploration missions, not just for nutrition, but for crew morale as well.
