Throwing out a number without consideration to local cost of living, family size and TAXES is insane. The reality is most Americans are paycheck to paycheck and are probably a few unemployed months away from couch surfing. Everything is more expensive, wages have not grown to accommodate and people are not as rich as they pretend to be online.

If it’s just you 80k a year you can live like a King/Queen. 80k a year with a family is paycheck to paycheck.

Yeaaaa…. 75-80k is definitely paycheck to paycheck if you’re paying rent, car note, insurance, and utilities

$80k a year is more like $1500 per week not $2k every 2 weeks.

I can almost guarantee they are not making $80K a year with both of them combined...talking about it's nothing. That's more than enough to live on & still build a savings & invest.

You can make $80,000/month & be check to check.

80k per year is NOT paycheck to paycheck. It only appears that way for people who have not been taught how to properly manage their finances. In this country, most Americans are living well above their income levels and going into debt to support their lifestyle. DM for my financial guide to easy living. I'm joking, don't DM me.

I knew a woman who made over $270k living paycheck to paycheck in DC. She quite literally thought three meals a day at nice restaurants, membership to an elite gym and living downtown was worth blowing all that. Women are economic black holes.

If you can’t do nothing with 80k a year you are probably very very very bad with money or you live above your means.

Most big cities you will basically have to use 1 of your checks for rent then the other for everything else. Can easily say with car, renters and car insurance, gas, utilities, and groceries. You’re practically at 2k. If you have school debt or anything more you’re basically 0

Bro if 80k is paycheck to paycheck you trying to live well beyond your means trying to look like a millionaire, it’s hard out here right now but most 2 income houses don’t pull 80k together! You can live pretty comfortably for 80k a yr w/ some nice perks folks say anything

When I was making 90k a year I was paying over 2k in rent, phone for 4, WiFi, groceries every week, car insurance, credit card bill, electric, gas, ez pass, taking care of my two sons one which I have split custody, and my extra curricular stuff and still save money.

Where does the person live? That makes all the difference so if you can’t tell me that the question is irrelevant

And that whole table doesn’t make 80 K combine acting all nonchalant 80 grand is 80 grand bro no car payment that’s 600-1000 dollars saved right there And imagine if the person is single and doesn’t eat out constantly you’re good

At the end of the day, it really boils down to your lifestyle choices and, without a doubt, the location you call home. As the wise moms often remind us, if you're bringing in $1.09 but spending $1.19, you must ask where that extra money is going to come from!

I disagree unless you are someone who lives beyond your means and over spends.

His math ain’t mathIng… I make about 1700 a week and I take home about 1400 closer to 3000 a month 6000×12 is 72,000 so 80,000 a year depending where you live is not bad for a single income

Only American women think 80k is living paycheck to paycheck. This is why EBT is rampant. Pick almost any other country and this amount is considered luxury living...but not westernized women. No wonder this country if fucked!...it's because of Americanized women.
