A 100% open-source alternative to n8n! Sim is a drag-and-drop UI for creating powerful AI agent workflows: - Runs locally on your machine - Works with local LLMs I built a stock market research agent & connected it to Telegram in minutes. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Tech stack: - @simdotai to build the workflow - @firecrawl for web search - Alpha-Vantage MCP to access stock market data - @docker to locally host everything Here's Sim's official GitHub repo: (don't forget to star 🌟)

I thought n8n was already open source. But love the UI man!

Being able to build agent workflows locally is cool. Really nice demo, Akshay. Definetely gonna check this out! 🔥

Cheers! :)

What's wrong with N8N open-source? Works quite fine self hosted for us.

That’s amazing

@AIvine_ Glad you found it helpful!

Pretty seamless setup 💯. Sim feels like Figma when you use it.

Absolutely!

An open-source N8n alternative? My weekend just got booked.

Struggling to understand how much more opensource you'd want n8n to be... what's perculiar about Sim? What does it do differently or better?

W

I used this a few months ago - really solid UX!

Local is interesting for prototyping, but how does this scale when your team needs to share workflows? I moved our intelligence agents to n8n specifically for the centralized deployment—solo builds are easy, team adoption is the hard part.

Good question. Sim supports all of that on their hosted version. Plus there’s a copilot that lets you build workflows using plain English prompts.

So now we need open source alternative to open source alternatives? Wow!

@Sumanth_077 Open-source n8n alternative running locally is the move. Cloud workflow tools lock you in and get expensive fast. Self-hosted gives you control + no rate limits. Perfect for internal automation pipelines.

Thanks for sharing

Open source n8n, minus rent seeking and cloud gravity.

I've successfully used Sim for workflow automation; it's intuitive.

Well, n8n is open-source...

Sim's a game-changer as n8n alt! From my AI hacks, a similar Telegram stock agent saved non-tech founders 15 hrs/wk on market research, driving 30% more informed trades & $10K extra quarterly profits. Untapped tactic: Use with for hybrid cloud-local automation in e-com funnels. 💡

What open source platform r u using to record , any free alternative please

Really impressive, Akshay! Open source tools like Sim are game changers for AI workflow experimentation excited to see what builders create next.

to this day i thought n8n was already open-sourced and that's why people talk about it so much! thanks for this though! 🙏

isn’t n8n open source already?

pretty dope share mate added to the spotlights

just because it has a node editor does not mean its an alternative to n8n. its not even close lol

Nice share!🔥

With all these AI agents, how do you niche down?

Can I call my A2A agents on here?

Is it connected to grow mcp or zerodha mcp?

Sim's drag-and-drop workflow builder looks great! How does it handle state persistence between trigger events — is each run stateless, or is there a built-in cross-run memory store? And can sub-agents within a workflow share memory context, or is it scoped per workflow instance?

This is awesome...Local + open-source workflows feel like the direction a lot of builders are heading. The fact you built a useful agent and hooked it into Telegram that fast says a lot. Definitely checking this out!

Impressive! A fully local, open-source workflow builder like Sim makes experimenting with AI agents way more accessible and secure.

But wait..n8n is also open source 😅

Can this also work for intraday connected with zerodha or grow mcps

@akshay_pachaar, This sounds impressive! I'm eager to explore the capabilities of Sim and how it integrates with local LLMs. Thank you for sharing the guide. Looking forward to trying it out!

Can i run locally on a regular i7 CPU Lenovo laptop? Pls say yes 🙌
