A 28-year-old businessman in Faridabad died by suicide inside his shop on Sunday after hanging himself. Before taking the extreme step, he posted a video on Instagram in which he accused his wife and her family of mentally harassing him. Police have launched an investigation and are also examining the allegations made in the video. In the Instagram video posted before his death, Rahul accused his wife Jyoti, his mother-in-law Veena, his father-in-law Bittu and his wife's sister Neetu of mentally harassing him. He claimed that despite doing all household chores, including sweeping and washing utensils, he was assaulted, and false cases were filed against him. He said he had been living under constant mental stress. Rahul also said in the video that his wife and her family were responsible for his death and should be punished according to the law. He further said that after his death, his property should go to his mother, sister and brothers. The victim, Rahul, had opened a garment shop around four months ago. According to police, Rahul met his mother at home on Sunday morning before leaving for his shop. A short while later, he hanged himself inside the shop. Police reached the spot after receiving information, took custody of the body and sent it to hospital for post-mortem. According to Rahul's family, he had married a woman named Jyoti in a love marriage around two years ago. They alleged that after the marriage, his wife did not want him to live with his parents, following which he started living separately. They said Rahul had recently opened his new garment shop. A family member, Amit, alleged that Rahul had been under severe mental stress due to harassment by his wife and her family. He claimed that Rahul's wife had also filed a case against him, which added to his stress. The family further alleged that Rahul was not even allowed to meet his parents. Investigating officer Sanjay Kumar said police have sent the body for post-mortem and are investigating the case. He said the viral social media video has been included in the investigation and that the allegations made in it will be verified during the probe.

THE DRIVER OF CLIMAX BUS THAT WAS INVOLVED IN THE ROAD ACCIDENT THAT CLAIMED THE LIFE OF HON. JIRONGO. The driver of the Climax Coaches bus involved in the road accident that claimed the life of former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo has been identified as Tirus Kamau Githinji, a long-serving driver with Climax Coaches who has worked for the company for about eight years. According to his account, the crash occurred early on December 13, 2025, around 3:00 a.m. on the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway at Karai, Naivasha. He was driving a bus carrying 65 passengers from Nairobi to Busia when a vehicle driven by Hon. Cyrus Jirongo entered the highway from a petrol station and collided head-on with his bus after failing to give way. Kamau said he tried to avoid the collision but believed swerving could have caused his bus to overturn and endanger all aboard, so he braked and absorbed the impact. He only learned that the other driver was Cyrus Jirongo after police arrived at the scene. He gave his side of the story and apologised. May Hon. Jirongo rest in peace.

The cab driver who assaulted a 75-year-old man in Thane — seen in a video that went viral and prompted Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to seek stringent action — was tracked down through a sting operation by Shiv Sena workers who posed as customers seeking a ride. The victim, Sarosh Dastoor, has fractured his right leg and is recovering at Jupiter Hospital. Workers used the vehicle’s registration number to get the car owner’s contact details, then called him pretending to book a cab to Lalbaug in Parel. The owner passed on driver Nishant Shukla’s number. When Shukla was contacted, he agreed to the trip and rode to the designated spot on his motorcycle. Party workers identified and detained him there before handing him over to police. “Using the registration number of the vehicle, we obtained the address and contact details of the car owner. One of our workers called the owner pretending to be a customer seeking a ride to Lalbaug in Parel. The owner then shared Shukla’s mobile number. When contacted, Shukla agreed to take the trip and as he was roaming on his bike in the vicinity, he arrived at the designated location on his motorcycle, assuring that he would be bringing his car. As soon as he reached there, party workers identified and detained him before handing him over to the police,” said local Shiv Sena leader Nitesh Patole, who was among those involved in tracing the accused. Workers from the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction were also part of the search. The Vartak Nagar police have charged Shukla under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. He has been remanded to two days of police custody. The case was registered on the complaint of a member of the search team, as Dastoor has not personally filed a complaint. Police said his statement has not been recorded yet as he is still recovering physically and emotionally, and will be taken once he is in a better condition. The assault took place near Jupiter Hospital in Thane West around 8 pm on Tuesday, when Dastoor and his wife were on an evening walk outside their residential building. Shukla was allegedly gargling and spitting repeatedly on the road when Dastoor objected. An argument turned violent and Shukla allegedly began abusing and assaulting the senior citizen. Eyewitness Ganesh Jadhav, who runs a coconut stall near the spot, said the altercation escalated quickly. “The cab driver was standing near his vehicle and was allegedly gargling water and repeatedly spitting on the road. Dastoor objected to his behaviour and requested him not to spit in public places. An argument ensued, which quickly turned violent after Shukla allegedly began abusing and assaulting the senior citizen,” Jadhav said. Amit Samanta, a manager at a nearby shop, said he rushed out after hearing the commotion. “It was closing time and I heard an altercation outside the shop. The customer in the shop rushed out. I also came and saw a man assaulting the senior citizen, who then fell on the footpath. The same customer intervened, stopped the fight and took the injured man to Jupiter Hospital in his car as he had sustained injuries to his right leg,” Samanta said. Dastoor and his wife live alone in a housing society near the hospital. A security guard at the building said he had worked there for three years and saw the elderly couple on their evening walks almost every day. Shinde called the Thane Police Commissioner seeking stringent action, including the addition of an attempt to murder charge given the gravity of the offence. MP Shrikant Shinde spoke to Dastoor over a video call at the hospital, inquired about his health and assured him of support. Despite approaches from multiple political parties, Dastoor has declined political support. Patole said Shukla later claimed he turned violent after Dastoor allegedly abused him in English.

Parveen Garg, a resident of Chandigarh, recorded a video before ending his life, in which he held his sister-in-law Kimmy, her mother Babita and father Sanjeev Kumar Singla responsible for his decision. He alleged that the three, along with Kimmy’s two sisters—Ankita of Noida and Aashima of Sangrur—and her younger brother living abroad, had continuously harassed, humiliated and troubled his family. He also denied allegations of dowry demands and claimed that a false FIR had been lodged against his elder brother. In the video, Garg alleged that his family had faced repeated harassment despite his mother taking care of Kimmy and fulfilling her demands. He further claimed that he was threatened in Chandigarh and was asked to arrange ₹60–70 lakh from his parents, with threats made against him and his family if the demand was not met. He pointed out that the window opening at the alleged site was too narrow for a person to slip through unintentionally. “A child couldn’t possibly fall through it,” he said. He further noted that the injuries on his son’s body did not appear consistent with a plunge from nine stories. In addition, he alleged that the blood patterns at the spot where Lakshya was found did not align with the impact expected from such a height.
