A 4 storey building in Ajuwon, Ogun State, reportedly sank into the ground just like that. Instead of collapsing sideways, the lower floors gave way and sank vertically, leaving only the uppermost part of the structure visible above ground. Sadly only those residing at the top floor survived this tragedy🤦‍♂️

Indian Railways High Speed Rail #IndiaHSR. At the site, on the ground. 32m below the ground is this Terminus Station of the Bullet Train in #Mumbai at BKC. What you see in the pic is work on the three station platforms with six lines. This is the lowest level where the Shinkansen Alfa-X, aka Shinkansen E10 trainsets, shall arrive once the project completely gets going. Work is 20 pc complete. The deadline for the station is September 2027. With three tiers, equivalent to a 10-storey building, the skylit covered roof will be visible from the platform, the lowest level floor. Above the platform and tracks will be a floor with concourse, public amenities and the floor above that will be the service floor for train operations, the ground entry point. What you see in the last pic is the IFLS station of Mumbai Metro Yellow Line 2B {Mankhurd-Andheri-Dahisar (2A)}. The ILFS station is also close to the Bharat Diamond Bourse.

My friend currently lives in this flat. He told me that the fire brigade’s water doesn’t reach the upper floors. This building is only 15 floors tall. I can’t even imagine what it must be like in 50-storey buildings. Just imagine the level of seriousness we have in our country. BTW, we have that guy who has drones to wash the trains.

NEW: NYC buildings evacuated after workers spot buckling support beams that “are bending like cigarettes.” The Midtown high-rise was evacuated after the support beams buckled and floors started caving in, sending bricks falling from the sky during rush hour. The building is undergoing construction to add 10 floors, converting office space into apartments. Local 638 Steamfitter Cliff Johnsen said, “The I-beams are bending like cigarettes in there, which is super dangerous.” Surrounding buildings were ordered to be evacuated, including a school with over 400 children, due to fears the building might collapse. NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani stated, “I would say that beyond that, just for those in the immediate area to follow the instructions of those on the ground, we have seen evacuations not only of the building, but of surrounding buildings, as well as a nearby school. WE GOT DATA! Check out this first-ever 3-D data set of wind and thermodynamics from the ground up from inside a #tornado! With a peak wind of 131 mph measured above ground, and greater than 115 mph at ground level outside of suction vortices, it appears this tornado was at least an EF2. This data set sheds light on the 3-D structure of the dynamic pipe from ground through the vent, showing a high swirl ratio tornado here. The vent is the powerful updraft at the upper reaches of the dynamic pipe, the strength of which is proportional to the ceiling of the tornado cyclone below. We also computed a pressure perturbation with height, with two maximum deficits happening at launch and farther above ground in the dynamic pipe. Notice the little loop the parachute probe made at the backside of the #tornado at the same time as an RH decrease. We do not believe this is a subvortex here so far above ground.
