A BBC World Service & BBC Arabic analysis shows that Meta’s Facebook suppressed audience engagement with news produced by Palestinan journalists in the occupied territories. Meta says it did change algos post 7/10 but denies accusations of censorship or bias.

You would have thought Zuckerberg would have learned after Cambridge Analytica, the way they manipulated what users see and how users are targeted with data that influences decisions/opinions.

Yes, but it's nearly ALL media isn't it, both 'social' and traditional. BBC is one of the worst. If you relied on the BBC you'd have no idea of what's been going on in and around Israel. It's all so obvious and so obviously deliberate. I think/hope most people see this.
This was reported by The Intercept in October. The guilty party is Jordana Cutler (a former Israeli government official) and now Meta’s policy chief for Israel and the Jewish Diaspora.

Michael Zoorob (@MichaelZoorob), a Data Scientist at Meta, described the fact-checking process, stating, “the fundamental problem is that... the vast majority of what fact-checkers label as false is shared by conservatives,” admitting that any policy demoting content labeled false by fact-checkers disproportionately affects conservatives.
