🧠 A Beautiful loop: An active inference theory of consciousness. Many psychological, philosophical and scientific approaches have posited that loops, recursion, and reflective broadcasting are somehow central to the emergence of consciousness in hierarchical complex apparatus such as the nervous system. The geometrodynamics of the experiential reality model itself... show more

Geometrodynamics: this term comes from physics, where it describes how massive objects warp space and time. Epistemology refers to content related to knowledge or the act of knowing, encompassing its nature, acquisition, and justification. What sets this model apart from other resources in the field is the attempt to integrate a computational account rather than a natural cause on the subject of consciousness, instantiating a reality model which undergoes through recursive looping into Bayesian binding providing an integrative computational approach to consciousness.

Where knowledge synthesis becomes a co-creative journey toward a deeper, more unified understanding of our world.

Well, what do you know — epistemology is recursive. Who could have predicted that… 🧬 Seriously though, it’s great to see formal research directly pointing to the self-referential axiom. While subtly implied, the “beautiful loop” model can be simplified even further, by demonstrating 1 & 2 (generative world / inferential competition) as also fundamental expressions of ontologically recursive processes. This paper is significant — but ultimately, we are still missing the fundamental aspect that clicks everything else into place; and that is: axiomatic erosion. The law of axiomatic erosion decisively dissolves the boundary between epistemology and ontology altogether. This is often thought impossible — yet it’s necessary, and is the inevitable hallmark of a true unification model. In other words — the recursion must precede the axioms which give rise to its own emergence — no axiom can be known except through self-reference. This is universal incompleteness, the key to embedding the consciousness model within a formal ontological grounding. That you for your fantastic insights as always Maurizio!!

"Many psychological, philosophical and scientific approaches have posited that loops, recursion, and reflective broadcasting are somehow central to the emergence of consciousness..." Nothing more loopy, recursive or reflective than doubt.. "Dubito, ergo cogito, ergo sum,"

Toroidal dynamics is said to be the matrix flux of our universe, isn`t an abstraction that our brain has torus-like topology.

That's why Kripke-semantics dynamic epistemic languages work so well in AI.

How do you propose a test ? How would this be proven false ? Be sure to explicitly include this next time 😇😇

Is interesting to note that along the line to recreate an extended artificial intelligence. We're discovering the mechanics of the biological counterpart.

Your brain is full of loops! It's got loops at many levels, and we only understand what some of them do. (The bottom level loops maintain a state of exquisite sensitivity to inputs. That surprised us when we found it; not what we expected at all, but pleasing/sensible to find.)

Speaking about loops...
