They remember what was done to them. But look at us. We are the only community that has been persecuted and enslaved for the longest time in history. Today, when some of our people displayed printouts of the Pakistan flag to expose the betrayal happening on our own soil, three Muslim men shamelessly came forward and started chanting "Pakistan Zindabad" right in front of us. My main concern is this: these people have taken every possible benefit from this land — they enjoy our facilities, our schools, our hospitals, our jobs — they thrive because of our resources, yet when it comes to loyalty, they pray and offer duas for Pakistan. This is a direct betrayal of the very soil that has fed them, sheltered them, and given them opportunities. They live among us but dream of Pakistan — a country that has drenched its hands in the blood of our ancestors. They spit on the very hand that feeds them. To convince themselves that what they wanted was within reach and that they were going to achieve it, they even brought in mercenaries. You know that many of them passed through here. We gave free passage to our enemies, allowing them to leave a war they waged against us, a war that was never theirs to begin with. That alone tells you something. And it is also something for which our forces, together with others who stood with them, deserve recognition. As for Rwanda, we will always be in a struggle for our very existence. Regardless of those who wish us harm, surrounding us from many sides, one thing remains true: we should and will always be a step ahead of them. It is our right. It is our will.
