It may end up backfiring by taking away very precious entertainment jobs.

Gavin Newsom's new return-to-office mandate that takes effect today requiring most state employees to work in person four days per week instead of the previous minimum of two (for most state workers). CHP is now telling demonstrators to clear. Opponents of Newsom’s return to work order argue telework has proven effective and productive, adding the return-to-office mandate will increase traffic and add costs for everyday workers and taxpayers. Infrastructure dev't is the true catalyst for economic transformation. From the new roads in Kampala and the outskirts like Kira to the expansion of housing units, these projects only happen when we enable the government to finance the budget. A Shs 200/- increase on fuel is a modest step toward ensuring we don't just stay a "low-income country" but actively build the 6,000+ km of roads and energy infrastructure needed to drive our informal sector and the Boda-Boda industry forward. We’ve already passed laws to cushion consumers, and now we must remain firm in our commitment to building a better Uganda for the next generation. I thank you.

CA’s deadline to do this for OBBA was January 1st of this year, however, it did not do so. This leaves service workers burdened with continued state taxation of tips. It's crazy, I actually side with the "Anti-AI or AI slop" crowd. When the new SAG-AFTRA agreement took affect July 1st, I thought this was a major win for TV, film, artists rights and IP holders. People see viral AI Brad Pit fighting Tom Cruise or rip off American Ghibli Anime and assume anyone using AI to create content has the same background or beliefs. Quite the opposite. Majority of the top 1% of AI filmmakers or AI artists are: pro-AI, anti-theft, pro-ownership. We come from traditional production, have "real artist" friends and colleagues. We educate, hire and collaborate with artists, studios, streaming platforms, and production companies. We just released episode 2 of our original series "The Arc" on Artlist TV, and is just one example of what utilizing AI to tell stories looks like in the near future and following the guidelines created by SAG-AFTRA.
