Driving on the wrong side of the road is dangerous, illegal, and something every citizen is fined for. So why is it acceptable when a VIP convoy does it? Today in Delhi, a VIP convoy most likely a Chief Minister’s convoy with an MG Gloster bearing DL 0001 was driving in the wrong lane, forcing traffic to stop just so the convoy could pass. If ordinary people drove like this, they’d be slapped with hefty challans. Why should those in power be exempt? Traffic rules exist for everyone’s safety, not just for the public. If this was indeed a Chief Minister’s convoy, it’s a shameful example to set! 😌

Cars are an essential, planes are for holidays. Of course it’s not that black and white - but I’ll tell you what is, zero fuel duty on flying and big fuel duty on driving. That’s wrong. Our tax system needs to be more fair, logical and progressive. The budget is an opportunity to make a start. Put taxes where they belong - on the luxuries and take them off the things we need just to live.

I was in the fast lane when an Ertiga from the opposite side suddenly took a U-turn at an emergency gap where it’s clearly not allowed. He didn’t slow down, didn’t check traffic, just kept moving while turning and almost rammed into me. This kind of reckless behavior is dangerous enough, but the lack of proper barricading makes it worse. Strict action is needed. Sharing this so people stay alert this tunnel is a daily route for many. #driveresponsibly

Not least of all driving without due care and attention, and driving other than on a road. I’d strongly urge the automobile industry to make dashcams a standard safety feature in all vehicles. Too often, we see hit-and-run cases where the culprits flee without accountability. A dashcam isn’t just a gadget it’s a necessity for our own safety, protection, and proof in such situations. Chandigarh was much better back when challans were issued manually people actually feared breaking the rules. But now, most of the reckless driving you see is by outsiders. You’ll rarely find a CH-number car in such incidents; it’s usually PB, HR, or DL plates. Just imagine how many lives can be put at risk in mere seconds because of such behaviour. I’d strongly urge the automobile industry to make dashcams a standard safety feature in all vehicles. Too often, we see hit-and-run cases where the culprits flee without accountability. A dashcam isn’t just a gadget it’s a necessity for our own safety, protection, and proof in such situations. Chandigarh was much better back when challans were issued manually people actually feared breaking the rules. But now, most of the reckless driving you see is by outsiders. You’ll rarely find a CH-number car in such incidents; it’s usually PB, HR, or DL plates. Just imagine how many lives can be put at risk in mere seconds because of such behaviour.
