To be fair he's selling to Wall Street. But yes the general lack of appreciation for self custody has been noted. Too high a concentration of centrally stored bitcoin in the world and soon enough we'll once more be talking about "systemic risk in the financial system".

In this clip, it's not just the "lack of appreciation" for self custody. It's combined with the fact that he's the face of bitcoin these days, and simultaneously became a full blown "You like bitcoin? Buy my shitcoin!" salesman.

How many times does Michael Saylor have to say to just buy Bitcoin? Because I think he's said it a thousand times. While you're counting, go tell Allianz that BTC in self custody is better for risk management than $MSTR convertible bonds.

How hard is it to understand the people he's talking to CAN'T BUT BITCOIN AND CUSTODY IT THEMSELVES 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ That's not an option for them and he's not talking to regular people that clearly always has that option. The illusions bitcoiners have that big corporations or funds will buy self custody bitcoin is so out of touch with their reality 😬

The people he's talking to would never self-custody any significant amount of capital.

It's almost like he's the chairman of MSTR

1) Saylor has said a bajillion times to buy Bitcoin (and to even mortgage your house for more BTC). 2) When he’s talking to Tradfi he needs to adjust his talking points. 3) Some people will NEVER buy BTC & self-custody. Their next best bet is MSTR. Would you rather they buy ETH?
