"The Kennedy Center has always stood for excellence in the arts, was named after President Kennedy. And he believed that the arts were at the center of all of our culture, all of our nation," Doug Varone told Brown after canceling a planned April show at the center by his dance company Doug Varone and Dancers. "Renaming it Donald Trump Center, it seems to go completely against every principle and every mission that the center stands for. I couldn't put myself or my dancers into that building right now," Varone added.
