Today marks the Vardhanti of a man who wasn’t just a leader — he was the heartbeat of the people. A visionary who led not with power, but with compassion… not for position, but with purpose. 🙏 🌾 He gave free electricity to farmers — not as a policy, but as a promise. 🏥 He gave Aarogyasri — turning healthcare from a privilege into a right for the poor. 🎓 He introduced fee reimbursement — ensuring that no student’s dream was denied by poverty. 🏠 He built lakhs of houses for the homeless under Indiramma Housing Scheme. 🛣️ He revolutionized infrastructure with roads, drinking water, and irrigation — making Andhra a model state. But beyond schemes and statistics — YSR was a presence. A leader who walked over 1,400 km across scorching roads to listen to the unheard. A man whose eyes saw pain, whose hands served hope. 👣 His Padayatra wasn’t a political stunt — it was a pilgrimage of empathy. He didn’t speak for the people… he spoke like one of them. Even today, his absence is a wound that hasn’t healed. Yet his legacy lives in every village, in every family, in every mother who received free treatment, in every student who found a future. ❤️ #YSR is not just a memory — he’s a movement. Not just a leader — a legend etched into the soul of Andhra Pradesh. 🙏 On this solemn day, we bow to the man who became immortal through service. #YSRVardanthi #YSRLivesOn #JoharYSR

🇵🇸🇱🇧 NEW: Israel killed veteran Lebanese resistance figure Maha Abu Khalil, 80, in final strikes before ceasefire Moments before midnight on April 17, just before a 10-day ceasefire took effect, Israel targeted the home of Dr. Maha Abu Khalil, killing the 80-year-old leftist Lebanese academic and veteran fedayeen figure in an airstrike on her residential building in the southern city of Tyre. At least 13 others were killed, 35 wounded, and 15 remain unaccounted for, according to Lebanon’s state news agency, which reported her body was recovered from the rubble the following morning. Dr. Abu Khalil was part of the first generation of women fighters linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). In December 1969, the then 22-year-old school teacher joined Sami Aboud and Issam Al-Dumaydi in an attempted hijacking of an El Al flight from Athens, part of a broader campaign to pressure for the release of detained fighters. She was arrested in Greece and later freed in a prisoner exchange. The PFLP, a secular Marxist-Leninist resistance group, said she spent decades engaged in political, academic, and social work in Lebanon, leading a “life filled with… principled national resistance,” with a “steadfast commitment to national and Arab constants, and a firm belief in the justice of the Palestinian cause.” “Because I believe in the right of my country and my people, we must struggle… We may not see the result… but the struggle will continue,” Abu Khalil said after her release in 1970. 🎥 Video shared by the The Palestinian Archive (The Palestinian Archive الأرشيف الفلسطيني)
