A NYC school teacher has a GREAT idea for billionaires leaving New York. 🤣🙄 He suggests that if the billion dollar companies leave then the regular folks should just take over their businesses. Mamdani isn't building a business with his grocery stores. He’s creating state-sponsored economic destruction. Mamdani is blowing through $70 million in taxpayer money to build government-run grocery stores that will likely put neighborhood bodegas out of business. How can they compete with a city-owned store that doesn't care when it loses 28 cents on every single dollar it rings up? A key ally of Mamdani said the quiet part out loud when asked about bodega owners being wiped out: "If one publicly owned grocery store is bringing prices down enough to put a man out of business, then maybe he shouldn't have been in that business in the first place." That isn't free enterprise. That's communism. And when the government forces local grocers out of business, New Yorkers will be left with only one option, just like every communist experiment before them: a failing government store with empty shelves.

NYC just passed the COPA law, and it’s chilling. The city now gives government approved nonprofits first dibs when property owners try to sell, kneecapping private buyers and stripping owners of real control over their own property. This is the government inserting itself into who can buy, who can sell, and at what cost. They can call it “ tenant protection” if they want …but it’s forced market manipulation and a massive step toward state control of private property.

I have a hard time believing that Mamdani has magically figured out how to sell groceries 30% cheaper than every other market in America. The average grocery store only makes about 2 cents of profit on the dollar. Even if they make NO profit, Mamdani's stores still need to cut 28% more off the cost. Sure, they won't have to pay rent or taxes, but they also can't buy in bulk (there's only 5 of them), won't sell high-margin products like hot food or beer, and will probably pay their workers well above the market rate. You can't cut 30% off the price of groceries with that strategy and expect to be profitable. That's just simple math. New Yorkers won't be getting cheaper food. They will just be buying groceries with your tax dollars and calling it a store.
