A comparison between my script, which converts a single image into Gaussian Splatting, and Apple’s Sharp. I’m getting better and more consistent results, with no deformation, and I can generate as many viewing angles as I want. The only downside is that it takes more time to compute.

📢 I’m testing ViggleAI new AI tool, PINOC, and it’s seriously impressive. You can create 3D Gaussian splatting models from just one image and animate them with a video! It’s the first AI I’ve tried that can animate Gaussian splatting models. I also talked to someone from Viggle, and they might add the option to import your own Gaussian splatting models and animate them. If that happens, I’ll probably make a video tutorial showing how to boost the detail level of a Gaussian splatting model by 4x to create highly realistic animated characters.

Range day dad advice: be a good man before you be a good shooter (unpopular opinion for some reason) I said I was going hard this year and I meant it. I want to push myself as far as I can possibly go as a shooter, and husband, and as a father. I want to become the best version of me possible. Grinding range days and training my ass off, more dry fire, more matches. But even more importantly: more date nights, more spending quality time with my daughter, and more moments to share with my beautiful wife. She says I’m doing great (I don’t believe her🤣) and I know I can do better. We all can. I hope everyone had an amazing Thursday and has a fantastic Friday! Stay snazzy 😎.

What’s the best way to load into your back leg. When I threw 95, I tried to get as deep as possible and load into my back leg as much as I could. The way I got to 98 was by speeding up the drop and getting into my back leg as quickly as possible. As I’m training to throw a hundred miles an hour, I’m starting to think about it differently. Instead of dropping into my back leg and getting as deep as possible, I like to feel more of an impulse. I’m putting force into the ground and the ground pushes back and gives me a burst of energy toward the plate. Studies have shown that the guys with the best impulse from their back leg throw the hardest. That means putting the most force into the ground for the longest amount of time. When you see this, you get guys like Shane McLanahan, Misiorowski, and Strider who look like they’re almost jumping down the mound. They’re really just putting so much force into the ground that it propels them forward. The key for me is I don’t want to put force into the ground by tensing up. I don’t want it to feel like a single leg squat. It should feel more like a max effort jump. The quicker I go down, the higher I’m able to jump. That lets me take better advantage of the stretch shortening cycle and improve my impulse.

I’ll keep fighting as long as I’m healthy, enjoying it, and as long as I still feel like I can compete and improve. I don’t want it to end anytime soon. 3D scanning and rendering is moving so fast - got my splats up and running and I'm mind blown getting ~100fps for this complex 3D scene ⬇️ 🤯 1. WAY faster than NeRF: For comparison, NeRFs would takes around 10 seconds per frame (!) Instead I'm zipping around with FPV controls without breaking a sweat - though I do crash a few times towards the end of the video lol 2. Old Meets New: Gaussian Splatting is cool in that it fuses classical graphics and deep learning techniques. Like NeRFs, this is still a radiance field - just without the slower (ne)ural rendering part. 3. Explicit Representation: Instead you represent a 3D scene as a collection of ellipsoidal "splats" called gaussians. Each gaussian has a position, size, and color. Rendering in real-time is done by projecting into the image plane and alpha blending. 4. Photorealistic Effects: Gaussian splatting use spherical harmonics to represent the view-dependent effects and lighting - allowing surfaces to change color when viewed from different angles, enabling greater photorealism. It doesn't use a neural network, but the training loop is similar to deep learning. 5. Enables Direct Editing: But it's not just speed - with Gaussian Splatting you also get 3D editing support! So you can select, move, and delete stuff, even relight stuff. This type of editing has been more tedious to do with NeRFs and their implicit black box representations. 📲 More tests cooking! Big news I found a way to convert Gaussian Splatting into a standard mesh while preserving all the visual advantages of Gaussian Splatting, such as reflections, shadows, and lighting that changes depending on the viewing angle. The result is excellent performance, even on an old laptop or a VR headset. And of course, the mesh can be animated like any regular 3D mesh, while still keeping the visual benefits of GS. I’ll soon show a full-body character animated using this technique.

I tried Opus 4.6 Max in Cursor with a much more detailed prompt and the results are incredible Functional inventory, health, tools, recipes, and more The only downside is how expensive the model is and it also had to fix some bugs, but it's a pretty strong model overall

🐶 my schedule is still fully packed until june. i was talking about this with coups hyung but there are so many things i want to do diligently while i’m able to. i can only book schedules once that time is fully decided. but i want to work as much as possible for a long time, i want to fill my schedule up heaps and work a lot. you know my how personality is right, everyone? i can’t rest!
