A critical issue that almost no one is talking about: a looming electricity shortage in our state. We’re seeing an AI data center boom (which is good), right at the time when we face supply constraints on baseload power generation. That math doesn’t work. Electricity costs could skyrocket &... show more

An AI data center booming being ubiquitously “good” is an opinion. It depends whose hands it’s in, actually.

The biggest looming crisis in the Midwest that no one is really talking about: the risk of electricity shortages & power outages. We’re seeing greater demand on our power grid, precisely when baseload power generation is short due to the war on fossil fuels. Time to wake up & fix it.

#WATCH | Delhi | On Khavda Plant, Indian Federation of Green Energy, Director General, Sanjay Ganjoo says, "The land there was of no use, almost like a desert, and they made use of that land, using solar energy and producing electricity which is being used within the country and therefore we need such projects. There is one project we talk about - in Ladakh, but the evacuation of power from there was an issue and we need to create a mechanism to evacuate the power. We need to invest in technologies for harnessing solar energy for a longer period of time..."

Jensen Huang is warning that China is winning the AI energy race. $NVDA $AMD $IREN $NBIS 🇨🇳 🇺🇸 🇪🇺 The US is generations ahead on chips, but that doesn't matter if there is no energy to power them. Europe is completely irrelevant in AI and doomed already. It takes 10 years to build a new data center in Germany, as there is no power, and they are turning off nuclear power plants. The US won't let China win, so we could be at the beginning stages of an energy boom. The question is which stocks will benefit from this boom the most?

Europe is at a critical time in history. We will either fall or rise up from this point. The first thing we need to do is make it clear to the world that we will no longer take in refugees & #ExitUNRefugeeConvention . Illegal immigration is a secondary issue. #LeaveECHR #Dover

Elon Musk: Solar is already the source of the vast majority of Earth's energy. “A lot of people would say, well solar, can that really provide the energy that we need? A lot of people don't perhaps appreciate that solar energy is already the source of the vast majority of Earth's energy. Without solar power, we would be a frozen ice ball at about 3 or 4 degrees above absolute zero. So really, all we're talking about for solar electricity is taking the tiny, tiny bit of energy that humanity needs for electricity, which I emphasize is super tiny compared to the amount of solar energy that hits the Earth. You could generate all the electricity that the United States needs with about a 100 mile by 100 mile grid of solar power. So you just take like a corner of Arizona, and that would be all the energy that the United States needs.” From: / Youtube, December 4, 2011

ELON MUSK: The Future of Energy Is Beyond Earth. "It's increasingly difficult to build power plants on the ground. There are very few people who want a power plant in their backyard, so if we wanted to say double the electricity usage of the United States, which is on average about 500 gigawatts, we would have to build, about twice as many power plants, which I don't think people are, well, most communities are not super excited about that, but actually, if we go to space, we can go far beyond the electricity generation of Earth. In fact, this is going to sound kind of crazy, but you could actually increase harnessed energy by a factor of a million and still be using much less than a millionth of the sun's energy, so current human civilization uses much less than a trillionth of the sun's energy output, which is kind of humbling to think about."

Pritzker: The economic opportunity of building new clean power is enormous. So today, I’ve issued an executive order designed to speed up the development of new clean nuclear power so we can increase our electricity supply and secure our energy future. My goal is to deliver at least two gigawatts of new clean nuclear capacity in our state — enough to power up to two million Illinois homes. For Illinois households and businesses, expanded supply will make electricity less expensive, more reliable, and cleaner — while creating thousands of jobs and maintaining our state’s status as a net energy exporter.

Energy Secretary Sharon Garin on the discovery of gas reservoir at Malampaya East 1: This milestone is a testament to the world-class capability of Filipino engineers in securing our country’s energy future. Reliable power fuels our everyday life: the lights in our homes, the continuity of work and enterprise, and the stability our schools, hospitals, and communities depend on. Natural gas is a critical bridge in our energy mix, supporting power reliability while we scale renewables, energy storage, and grid upgrades.

For President Trump, energy abundance is a pursuit that starts right here at home where the Trump EPA just announced the LARGEST POWER SECTOR DEREGULATORY ACTION in U.S. history. No longer will the EPA be trying to strangle out of existence entire sectors of our energy economy. We need MORE reliable, durable baseload power, not less!

Chris Camillo explains how Bloom Energy is solving AI data center energy usage problems… “ $BE is one of the only companies in the world that has a method to essentially bring almost an infinite amount of energy to these data centers." And we won't get into all the technology, but they are now working with hyperscalers and they are a resource for energy that will allow a data center to get ramped up quicker. "So, even though it costs a little bit more money today to put an energy cell from Bloom, an energy box from Bloom, which are energy cells, it essentially takes things like natural gas, but instead of burning the natural gas, there is a chemical process that turns that natural gas into energy for the data center."

On episode 74 of S3, we visit Valar Atomics, the first startup in history to generate nuclear power, all while beating the July 4th deadline. In just 3 years, Isaiah Taylor - making nuclear reactors went from pitching the idea on an Apple note to the reactor generating electricity, and now NVIDIA is betting on that same reactor to power its next AI data center.

God put the Permian Basin right beneath our feet, and it’s our responsibility to use it. We must deregulate, unleash American production, and restore true energy independence and energy dominance. Right now, the United States doesn’t have an Energy Senator. I intend to fill that void. This matters to Texans because affordable, reliable, clean energy is how we drive prices down, strengthen our economy, and secure our future. And this isn’t just about Texas or even America. When we lead in energy, we lead the world.

🇮🇷 Former Energy Minister: The length of Iran's power grid is three times greater than the distance from Earth to the Moon, and this is an important defensive advantage Ali Akbar Mehrabian: 💬 When the enemy is unable to act, he resorts to terror and the destruction of infrastructure. 💬 A strike on a single bridge or factory is in fact an admission of defeat on the battlefield. 💬 We have hundreds of power stations and an extremely extensive power grid. 💬 The length of Iran's power grid exceeds one million kilometers, which is more than three times greater than the distance from Earth to the Moon. Such a scale in itself is a serious defensive advantage. 💬 Of course, any destruction is a damage, but this war has been imposed on us, and we have no doubt about the necessity of defense. 💬 At the same time, our opponents have a limited number of vulnerable power stations. 💬 Electricity is the foundation of all infrastructure. If their power system fails, the production, processing, and transmission of any type of energy in the region will stop. The question is, can the global economy withstand such a situation?

Virginia Lt. Gov. Ghazala Hashmi wants state regulators to take double the time that they normally do to review the Dominion Energy - NextEra Energy proposed merger to determine the impacts on your electricity bill. The merger would create the world's largest regulated electric utility, according to NextEra. The merger would help the company build out energy infrastructure that Dominion says is needed for Virginia’s growing data center industry. The Lt. Gov. was a co-patron of the Virginia Clean Economy Act (VCEA) when she was in the State Senate. The VCEA is a state law requiring utility companies to phase out fossil fuels and generate power from renewable sources like solar and wind. Spotsylvania County, Virginia is home to the largest solar field east of the Rockies— with more than 6,300 acres of solar panels. Yet that solar development does not produce enough power for one large data center, underscoring the limitations of solar energy. Here’s what the Lt. Gov. told me about the feasibility of the VCEA requirements now that Virginia is home to hundreds of power hungry data centers⬇️
