@WhichUK Thanks for all your work on great tariffs. But Maybe next you can work out why so many Smartmeters don’t work these days and get together with the regulator to push for change to the terrible network that supports smartmeter readings to be transmitted to the energy companies!

@WhichUK Honestly - it's so frustrating... the spec is a decade out of date but we have no choice. TBF it's got better over time - but it especially hits Octopus customers because of all our insanely popular smart tariffs and services...

@WhichUK I'm with British Gas. The customer interface is woeful. Is it easy to change to you guys? I see good reports. Cheers

@WhichUK I see customers are already answering :) So use their referrals and save £50 or just come to the website - either works great!

@WhichUK I cannot tell you how important being an Octopus customer has been to me since joining you last May. Because of the savings I have made in electricity from being on the Flux and then Agile tariffs, I have been able to afford to heat my house with gas this winter.

@WhichUK @OctopusEnergy maybe these directors can help with the problem I have been communicating with @OctopusEnergy on. ref my estimated day/night usage & how it has been swapped around a year ago & why after 6months of communications the problem has not been resolved!

@WhichUK You'll hear at the end where we talk about @eddisonj's genius (he's CTO). @pete_miller and @MrFirthy head up UX. Usually we spend a long time getting to the heart of the problem then chat with them to solve it. That way we don't waste their time on ill-thought through stuff

@WhichUK This is great focus on the customer and why we're with you but... can't help notice all three directors are men😬

@WhichUK We have plenty women - and indeed a negative gender pay gap. It just so happened these were the ones at the time. This was spontaneous not planned...

For people coming at me about this I was diagnosed with epilepsy at 19 same year Lehner came to our team. His free story in Athletic helped me to apply his strength to my own life and he became an idol to me as I was in high stress nursing school having full blown seizures in front of classmates. I was scared, upset and embarrassed. I said in my hospital bed “how can I be a nurse if I can’t even help myself?” I cried. It was a rough time. I found his story and reread it that season. He was standing on an NHL stage with his mental battle. It was inspiring to me. Cheesy, but if he could that, I could be strong too. I also really jumped into something that helped me release stress. Talking about hockey, podcasting, radio and going to games. And I was a big Lehner fan. He thanked me for getting his jersey that I received from my grandma as they drove me to my neurologist appointment. (I couldn’t drive as that was taken from me as a new epileptic) When my grandmother passed, who was my best friend, Lehner sent me condolences. It was an uphill climb but I haven’t a seizure in years due to medication and still follow this sport which I love. Lehner was a big idol in one of the roughest parts of my life. I now spread epilepsy awareness and even wrote a paper for work for November epilepsy awareness month for the nurses on proper care for epileptic patients. He taught me to speak up and spread awareness rather than feel shame. This video is me having a seizure streaming hockey. I’m not ashamed of it. Let others see what a seizure looks like. (I do not remember talking when the seizure happened)

David Friedberg: The Eric Swalwell allegations were widely known about by California insiders, but held back for the perfect moment. Was this a hit job to clear the path for a preferred candidate in California? “Back in December, when it was first rumored that Swalwell was going to run for governor, I started making some calls to various folks to be like, ‘Hey, what do we think of this guy? Is he going to be a good candidate?’ I spoke to several people who independently told me that there's knowledge about this guy sending pics to employees, and that this guy has a bunch of stuff that's going to come out about him. And I largely kind of dismissed it, because I was like, if this is true, this would've all come out already. If multiple people are telling me about this, then I've got to assume that it's a rumor that's being used to block him from running for governor. And then everything that I had been told started to come out in the last week. So the striking aspect of all of this for me was how much knowledge there was about these various incidents with the guy, how so many people had this knowledge, and how no one had actually brought the knowledge to bear. Which begs the question, why did they not do what was right by the victims? Or, why did the victims sit on the sidelines waiting for the right moment to all come out together? These were all being held back purposefully and deliberately for a very particular moment in time when they were all brought forward to be used. And that's what was so striking to me is just how coordinated all of this was. My sense of it is that there are certain insiders, and he's not an insider. Katie Porter, I think, is who the Democratic establishment wants to be governor. She's an insider to national Democrats, she's an insider to California Democrats, and I think that she's the preferred candidate.”
