He immediately ordered them to leave the scene with the fire tender.

Some traders were left devastated and stranded at Teacher Mante on the Accra-Kumasi Highway in the early hours of today after a truck transporting their foodstuffs, mainly plantain, from Kumasi to Accra caught fire, destroying almost everything. Firefighters from the Suhum branch of the Ghana National Fire Service arrived at the scene around 4 a.m. and managed to douse the flames before the fire completely consumed the truck and its contents.

He lamented what he described as a lack of urgency from motorists and pedestrians in making way during such emergency situations. The team, dispatched from the GNFS Headquarters in Cantonments, however managed to arrive at the scene and successfully brought the fire under control.
