We visited the scene of the explosion which occurred at about 7.44 pm yesterday, 16 January 2024 in Bodija, Ibadan. This unfortunate incident resulted in death and injury to residents in the vicinity and also affected properties. We have already deployed first responders and all relevant agencies within Oyo State to carry out comprehensive search and rescue operations. These operations will continue throughout the night. Earth moving equipment, ambulances, emergency lights, and security were deployed to the scene of the incident. The wounded and injured are being treated and moved to public and private hospitals within Ibadan. Medical personnel are on standby at these hospitals to provide all needed assistance to the injured. We have visited UCH to see some of those injured during the incident. In total, we have 77 injured victims so far, most of whom were treated and discharged and 2 fatalities. May their souls rest in peace and may God give their loved ones the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. I have directed that the medical bills of all victims be covered by the government. We will also be providing temporary accommodation for those whose houses were affected and ensuring that they are supported to rebuild their lives. Preliminary investigations by the security agencies revealed that illegal miners occupying one of the houses in Bodija had stored explosive devices there which caused the blast. The investigations are ongoing. All those found culpable for this will be brought to book. I urge all residents to please call 615 for any emergencies they may be experiencing at this time and to remain calm and stay away from the immediate scene of the incident to allow rescue operations to be carried out without interference. We are grateful to the first responders, security personnel and all those who are at the scene to assist with the rescue operations as well as the medical personnel taking care of the injured. Please say a prayer for those who have been affected by this disaster as we continue with the rescue operations.

With the ceasefire signed and goods promised to enter Gaza, we are still waiting for one of the most important aid items: MEDICATION. More than 70% of types of medication are not available in Gaza. What is available is difficult to find and expensive for patients that have no income or means to pay. At the Refaat Alareer Camp we have some of the most serious medical cases, that should be in hospitals, but because of overcrowding they are discharged to tents. Requests for medical help come in daily. The occupation’s attacks on the healthcare system has rendered all hospitals only partially functioning and clinics have been destroyed. We saw this need for supplemental medical care and we stepped up with your help. It cost approximately $20,000 per month to keep just one of our medical points stocked with gauze, bandages, medicine, saline, IV’s, and other necessities. Nebulizer machines, blood pressure equipment, oximeters, secretion suction machines, are all added costs. Many of our patients need hard to find treatment for seizures like Keppra. And we supply it all to them for free to aid in their rehabilitation and maintenance. We need your help supporting the sick and the injured in Gaza. None of their needs have entered the Strip yet, so they require our assistance. Donate to the Medical Campaign. Other ways to donate include: (Paypal option, please make sure to add a message saying "Medical") (Venmo option, please make sure to add a message saying "Medical")

My dear compatriots, Decisive moments lie before us. The assistance that the President of the United States had promised to the brave people of Iran has now arrived. This is a humanitarian intervention, and its target is the Islamic Republic, its apparatus of repression, and its machinery of killing—not the country and great nation of Iran. However, despite the arrival of this assistance, the final victory will still be achieved by us. It is we, the people of Iran, who will finish this task in this final battle. The time to return to the streets is approaching. Now that the Islamic Republic is collapsing, my message to the country’s military, law enforcement, and security forces is clear: You have sworn an oath to protect Iran and the Iranian nation, not the Islamic Republic and its leaders. Your duty is to defend the people, not to defend a regime that has taken our homeland hostage through repression and crime. Join the nation and help ensure a stable and secure transition. Otherwise, you will sink with Khamenei’s ship and his crumbling regime. And my message to the President of the United States, President Trump, is this: The honorable people of Iran, despite the brutal repression and killings carried out by this regime, stood bravely for nearly two months. I now ask you to exercise the utmost possible caution to preserve the lives of civilians and my compatriots. The people of Iran are your natural allies and the allies of the free world, and they will not forget your assistance during the most difficult period of Iran’s contemporary history. And to you, my dear compatriots in Iran: In these sensitive hours and days, more than ever we must remain focused on our ultimate goal: reclaiming Iran. I ask you, for now, to remain in your homes and remain calm and safe. Stay alert and ready to return to the streets for the final action at the appropriate time, which I will communicate to you. Follow my messages through social media and satellite media. If disruptions occur in the internet and satellite broadcasts, I will remain in contact with you via radio. We are very close to final victory. I hope to be with you as soon as possible so that together we may reclaim Iran and rebuild it. Long live Iran. Reza Pahlavi

This is the day the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. The victory at the Supreme Court was not just one for the PDP but for the people of Plateau State. We must not behave like the ten lepers, we must return quickly and give praise to God who made it possible. This service was held in remembrance of our Fallen Heroes. We want to thank God for those Great men and women who devoted themselvess to the service of the nation. Unfortunately, we have not done well in looking after those who have served the nation appropriately, And I am praying that as a nation, we will do better in looking after those who have served the nation valiantly. For those of you who are still serving, we want to encourage you to continue to devote yourselves to the best of your conscience and ability to protect lives and properties. As an institution, the armed forces are very crucial and central to the survival of every nation, and I must admit, like every institution in Nigeria, things have not been well. As a government, we will continue to provide the necessary tools and enabling environment for the Armed Forces to effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities of protecting the lives and property of citizens in the State. I will continue to advocate that the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces will insist on the return to true professionalism within the armed forces and the security agencies, and I am sure when we begin that journey, it will be worthwhile.

🚨Relief effort update - yes it is a long post, but please read. I want to start off by explaining how strong the Appalachia people are, because the scale of devastation is truly bizarre. We have had team members on the ground reach some of the most rural places that havent seen a single "agency" since this has all happened. Our crews have reached people whose homes no longer exist, who have lost loved ones and who have nothing but the clothes on their backs, people completely cut off from the outside world. That being said, the common theme through every one of these interactions, is that the citizens who live in these communities still have their heads held high and have rolled up their sleeves and begun the process of trying to clean the FEET thick layer of mud covering everything to see what is even left to salvage. These people are "mountain tough" and their resolve is unbreakable, but they need our help, AS A COUNTRY. One of our forward crew member on the ground, providing updates on road conditions into towns that are cut off and need help, has hiked into several places that have been neglected. The pictures i include in this post are of the area in and surrounding the Green Mountain area. The level of destruction depicted in the photos and videos do not do the scope of the damage justice, but you can tell from the imagery, that this situation is not only challenging, but dire. Critical infrastructure is completely decimated in most of these places and will take months if not longer to repair or rebuild. We have coordinated a group of Doctors that will be bringing life saving medical supplies, well above and beyond basic first aid needs. They will be traveling by helicopter to areas that are inaccessible by vehicle to give that life saving aid. We have been able to get supplies into the remote town of Marshall, where their homes have been either damaged by the flood waters to the point of being unlivable or just completely deleted from the earth. Talking with these people, they have concerns for the future, and not just the coming days or weeks, but in the near future as winter creeps into the area. As that happens, the challenges they are presented with become exponentially more difficult and so much more dire. From the difficulty of building temporary housing to the logistics and availability of supplies to rebuild, the geographical location of this devastation is creating more problems to overcome than what most would associate with "hurricane damage". As the country descends on Asheville, supplies and help has become bountiful there and our operations will begin to shift further into the mountains to help those that have not had help. Supply needs are changing rapidly, and as they do we are having to pivot on what we are procuring to bring into the affected areas. I call on the people of this country to help us help these people. They have been largely neglected and are deserving of our compassion and help in any way that we can deliver it. I can't speak for the government and what they are or aren't doing, but i can speak for our efforts. We are just everyday citizens, husbands, wives, sons and daughters, standing together to help those in need. We will not stop, until our mission is complete.

Hello, I’m Ramón Batista, Chief of Police for the city of Santa Monica. To all Santa Monicans, especially those who have been displaced by the Palisades Fire, your safety is our top priority. Throughout the past several days the SMPD and our mutual aid partners have contacted hundreds of people on foot or in cars and we have arrested individuals in our evacuation and evacuation warning zones that were in possession of weapons, stolen property or wanted for serious felony crimes in our region. To those considering coming to our city to commit crimes or victimize our residents, your actions will not be tolerated and we will not allow you to prey on our residents during a time of crisis. Day and night, we remain dedicated to ensuring the security of your homes and loved ones. Our team is proactively monitoring the evacuation zone, and all sworn officers have transitioned to a tactical alert, ensuring that we have a full contingent of officers available 24 hours a day. During this period we received assistance from our mutual aid partner cities, special thanks to Culver City, Beverly Hills, UCLA, Hawthorne and Redondo Beach. These resources have been a crucial part of our proactive public safety efforts. We are steadfast in our commitment to respond swiftly to any needs that arise. Safety is a partnership between the police and the community—it is also our strongest weapon as we fight crime. We need everyone to follow the curfew orders, the curfew order for the evacuation zone is in effect from sunset to sunrise. And, as always, if you see something, say something; please call 911 or the Watch Command office 310-458-8427. We are a strong resilient city, and we are here for you. Thank you for your trust and cooperation as we work together through this period.

#WATCH | Hisar: The Haryana unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written to the state government regarding the withdrawal of services by Ayushman empanelled hospitals from August 7, 2025, due to non-payment of dues. Former Haryana IMA President Dr Ajay Mahajan says, " For the last two years, we have been repeatedly facing the problem that our payments get stopped. Due to this, the hospitals also lack the financial resources to make their payments. The hospitals have to make immediate payments to their doctors, their staff, their vendors, but the government is making these payments after three months, four months, six months and even then, it makes unwanted deductions. Due to this, a huge financial burden has fallen on the hospitals. Due to this, the hospitals have decided to request the government to pay all the dues till 15th July by 7th August, otherwise we will not be able to provide further services... Now, after giving our notice, the government says that we have sanctioned Rs 310 crores, but that sanctioning and getting the money will take time. We have about 650 to 700 hospitals, which are private sector hospitals, that were providing their services to the government under Ayushman Bharat. Now, because the debt burden on them has increased, they are unable to provide their services further. We have requested the government that all the payments till 15th July should be made by the 7th so that the hospital can run smoothly..."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: "Last night, our heroic fighters captured the Beaufort castle. They proudly raised the flag of the State of Israel and the flag of the Golani Brigade there. I remind you that 44 years ago, this place was a symbol of a heroic battle by our fighters, but it was also a symbol of deep division among us. Today, we returned to Beaufort differently. We returned united, determined, and stronger than ever. I spoke with the fighters on the northern border on Friday. They told me: 'Tell the people of Israel what we are doing here. Prime Minister, the public doesn't know what achievements we have made.' Well, since the beginning of the War of Redemption we have eliminated 8,000 Hezbollah terrorists. Since Operation Roaring Lion – 3,000. In the past month alone – 700. This is more than everyone we eliminated during the Second Lebanon War. I have instructed the IDF to expand the incursion in Lebanon. Our forces have crossed the Litani River. They took dominant terrain. They captured the Beaufort ridge. And now my instruction is to deepen and expand our hold on places that were under Hezbollah's control. The capture of Beaufort is a dramatic stage and a dramatic change in the policy we are leading. We have broken the barrier of fear. We are taking the initiative, we are operating on all fronts – in Syria, in Gaza, in Lebanon; we have established security zones beyond our borders to protect our communities. On Friday, I spoke with the brigade commanders. They are daring brigade commanders, inside the territory, leading the heroic soldiers. And they told me: 'Prime Minister, we are carrying out the mission. We are charging forward – and Hezbollah is fleeing for its life.' And I told them: 'I am with you. The entire nation of Israel is with you. It will take more time, but we will restore security to the residents of the North, just as we did for the residents of the South.' It will take time, but we will complete the mission."
