That is not how public safety works. Pointing a firearm at someone is one of the most serious things an officer can do, because it instantly escalates an encounter into a potential deadly force situation. And that is exactly why the law is supposed to restrict it. Every unnecessary drawn gun increases the risk of a wrong judgment, and a fatal mistake. Because of the speed you were maintaining, now you’re technically tailgating. However, the Jeep suddenly slams on its breaks and you run into the back of it. So who is at fault. Who does the insurance believe is at fault. Because you had a dash cam the Jeep was found at fault but if that cam wasn’t there would it be the same outcome.

Two examples of the unruly behavior by juveniles in Navy Yard over the weekend. - Riding scooters and e-bikes in the roads, crosswalks, and all around. - One person crossed the road on a green light and dumped the scooter in the intersection. A police officer demanded he pick the scooter up. This is partially the problem with these large groups. Some of the behavior is criminal, but a lot of it is just disorderly. I spoke with several locals who are tired of the groups and that on the weekends they avoid going out at night. Several juveniles told me they aren’t doing anything wrong and don’t understand the police presence.

The video cuts off a bit early because the person filming obviously was concerned that the Waymo was going to back into them.
