I think we might need to invent a new term for Rapid Intensification for this Blizzard. Because it is about to BLOW the normal parameters OUT OF THE PARK. ✅Normal rapid intensification, or Bombogenesis, is defined as a Storm dropping 24 millibars in pressure in 24 hours. That alone is an incredibly high rate. ⏫This Storm is forecast to deepen nearly DOUBLE that rate, with pressure falling OVER 40 millibars in just 24 hours. That kind of strengthening is almost UNHEARD OF. 💨 At peak intensity, this Storm may even LOOK like a Hurricane on satellite, with a tight core and powerful wind field wrapping around it. ⚠️ This level of intensification is exactly why impacts could become so extreme. 👊 This Storm is the REAL DEAL, my brotheren. Get ready to witness history.

‼️I don't think people are grasping how MISERABLE this Winter Storm will be. This Winter Storm will be NOTHING like last week’s storm❌ 🥶 Portions of the Carolinas will turn into SIBERIA on Saturday, as Hurricane Force Wind gusts and close to a FOOT of Snow fall at the same time. 🌀 Our Storm is what’s called a BOMB CYCLONE, meaning it is a rapidly strengthening Low Pressure System. 💨 Instead of a calm, steady Snow, conditions will be ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL inside the core of the storm as Blizzard like Snow and Wind WHIP around. 🌡️ On top of that, Temperatures will be Frigid, with Wind Chills close to 0. I’ll have another update later tonight, but right now this is looking like a BIG ONE for our Carolina brotheren. More to come my brotheren. 👊❄️

This swirling low-pressure storm is very nearly a Medicane, or Mediterranean tropical-like cyclone, and she could be on a trajectory to make landfall into the deserts of northern Libya soon. Notice the huge plume of dust on the eastern side of the storm getting pulled out to sea by the counter-clockwise circulation.

🚨 It’s happening. Our Storm is entering BOMB GENESIS MODE and is now rapidly strengthening. 💨 Conditions about to head downhill in a HURRY as Winds begin to CRANK close to Hurricane Force this evening , especially near the Carolina coastline. ⏬ Over the next 24 hours, this Storm is expected to drop 35 millibars in pressure, rivaling the rate of intensification seen in some of the MOST EXTREME Hurricanes in recent years. 🌀 At peak intensity, pressure could fall as low as 967 mb, territory normally reserved for a Category 3 Hurricane. 🌬️ That kind of pressure drop will drive WIND GUSTS up to 70 mph on land, particularly along the Carolina coast. This is near HURRICANE FORCE. 🌊Over the open water of the Atlantic, Winds could get as high as 100mph during the height of the Storm. Just insane. ❄️ The combination of HOWLING WIND and HEAVY SNOW will produce BLIZZARD CONDITIONS for many. ⁉️We should have widespread Blizzard Warnings across eastern North Carolina. Tuesday, February 13, 2024, 8:42 PM PST: IR satellite shows a 545 DM low pressure that is undergoing intensification just 245 miles Northeast of the Hawaiian islands. This is a strong indication of a shift in the trajectory of the secondary low-pressure center combined. The strong, Pacific jet extension axis point is aimed directly at Southern California. There is now considerable high confidence that the developing storm will transfer heavy rainfall subtropical moisture that will be drawn up into Central California and Southern California by Monday evening. These abrupt developments started occurring very rapidly in the last eight hours and quickly switched the forecast to a stronger storm scenario setting up. More details will continue to evolve in the next 24 hours to 36-hour period. #ElNino #Califoniastorms

The Philippines can’t catch a break in the wake of Typhoon Kalmaegi (TinoPH), because just as that system heads deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, a new leviathan has emerged from the depths of the Pacific. On the right side of this satellite loop is Tropical Storm Fung-wong, a sprawling embryonic cyclone in the Philippine Sea. She may be weak and disorganized now, but the environment ahead is going to be favorable for rapid intensification. The island of Luzon is her most likely target for landfall. Watch this one closely.

According to information from Crimean media, in Yevpatoria the water washed away the defense line on the coast, engineering buildings and firing positions. The speed of wind at the coasts of occupied Crimea reaches 115-130 kilometers per hour, the waves are 8-9 meters tall. In Crimean mountains, the wind is up to 150 kilometers per hour.

Here is a 3D visualization of the coming solar storm using model parameters from NASA's run, NOAA's run (shown below), and the coronagraph views from STEREO-A/COR2 and SOHO/LASCO. The storm is expected to hit Earth early December 9. The 3D visualization clearly shows the low inclination orientation of the solar slinky core inside the larger storm envelope. Of course, the earlier eruption that erupted to the northeast, might deflect this structure a little bit, but likely that will only make the structure move more towards the ecliptic plane, which will give us a larger chance of crossing through the solar slinky core. One nice thing about low inclination flux rope cores is that they almost ALWAYS have southward field in them at some point. So this is good news for aurora photographers-- as long as this solar storm stays true to its launch trajectory and inclination, we could see some organized southward pointed magnetic field. Considering this solar storm is fast-- that usually indicates the storm will not deviate much from its original launch trajectory! Everything is stuck! That partly explains the 20” of rain along the Carolina Coast and extreme rains and snows in Central Europe. Take a look at the jet stream in the US and Europe. Rex blocks (high over top of low) abound with an extremely wavy jet stream!

Latest look at Potential Tropical Cyclone One. The system is near the Texas coast and could briefly become a tropical storm. Heavy rain is the main threat, with flooding possible in parts of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Gusty winds and coastal flooding are also likely.
